Railroads
The plans for the railroads have been already laid down. The route will be St.Petersburg-Tsarskoe Selo. With the help of advisors from England and large amounts of funding, resources and a large workforce the project should be complete in 10 months and in the next decade 3 train line will run out of St.Petersburg to cities such as Moscow.

Commissions
A series of commissions are to be set up to look at aspects of the Russian Empires military capabilities. To look at our tactics and if certain aspects need modernisation.

Swedish Border
Watch posts are to be set up along the border with Sweden as tensions rise over some military mobilisation from Russian troop movements in the area.

Sendai

In the city of Sendai, the machinations of political thought were turning at a very high rate. It would be here that the first of many Liberal doctrines would be published. The Japanese Liberal movement would resemble early Socialist movements in Europe. For example, two of the most popular Liberal texts were written by women and published/spread by underground distribution. The first was Megumi Takibara's "Chakujitsu Theses[1]". As an Anglican, she had been interested in the way that Martin Luther's disciples had spread the Protestant Way.

"The most important aspect of the Way of the Golden Sun[2], is to assert that indeed, as Thomas Jefferson once said, that all humans should hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women were created equal, endowed by their creator with the right to Freedom, Peace, and the Pursuit of Happiness. All of God's children, Christian or not, have the decency to put down their prejudice and join together with the People to pursue a future for our children through equality."
-- Megumi Takibara, "Chakujitsu Theses"

Another popular Liberal text written around the same time was Ryoga Miyuzaki's "What Is There To Be Done?" which elaborated the steps necessary to remove Conservative culture from society, and to introduce a new Liberal Way.

"The Conservative apparatus of the state is a brutal police action, aiming to break the knees of the people, and weaken the power of the collective thought vs. the greed of man. Conservative culture must be banished by all means, through popular discontent, election or even revolution in extreme cases. All men, women and children are expected to not sit idly by and to resist arbitrary law when arbitrariness rears it's head. We must rally and destroy the Conservative State before it destroys us. Liberty is the way God intended for all, not what the world has now."
-- Ryoga Miyuzaki, "What Must Be Done?"

The Liberal movement began to spread these documents across the ocean and world, hoping to ignite similar fires under people's arses overseas. In England, pro-Liberal Japanese would spread these two writings as the "Sendai Theses" and "What Must Be Done?"

The Conservative government in Japan attempted to outlaw the documents, but Prince George firmly vetoed such an action as a violation of the 1797 Constitution, which guaranteed the freedom of expression. The Conservatives backed down after a two-week threat to walk out of the Imperial Senate.

----

[1] They are called such because she wrote these papers while locked up in prison. Much like Hitler's "Mein Kampf".

[2] It's called this because Japanese for Liberal is a loan-word. So instead, they call themselves "The Way of the Golden Sun", but English references to them are just "Liberal Movement".

Shanghai

Shanghai was now the major economic center of China. With it being a major port, and the largest city in the Empire, ideas were flowing in, and so were goods and capital. Now that the Emerald Line was completed, it took 2 weeks to get from Shanghai to the Caspian, significantly shortening travel times, and thus, Shanghai became a major hub for transport and communications.

With two Japanese publishing "從牆壁" (Cóng qiángbì, From the Walls), or the "Sendai Theses", and "無產階級的聖經" (Wúchǎn jiējí de shèngjīng, The Proletarian's Bible) or "What Must Be Done?", it generated a lot of discussion and ideological output. Traders and Chinamen contributed to the discussions, and innovation was at work. Factories were along the Yangtze river, and factories dwarfed Chinese-style buildings and European-style buildings. A chimney in Shanghai that was 90m tall surpasses the Liaodi Pagoda, making the factory (producing china) the tallest building in China: if the chimney, or smokestack counts as part of the building.

The first train to Kyzyl had left. It was not express, since they needed to refuel, but it was clear the Emerald Line was the lifeline of the Chinese now. If the line cost a whole lot of yuan, it'd better be a gateway to Europe and vice-versa.

The Russian Border

Hearing about the Russian movements and building of watch-posts on the border only made the UKSND more suspicious of the Russians. To try and neglect the Russian's superior numbers in case of a war Tactics based on the ones used by the Spanish in The Peninsular war where started to be adopted in case of the main army's defeat. Hopefully that could be of advantage in the cold weather of Northern Sweden and Norway.

Other than that Watch posts where built on the border to counter the Russian ones. With some more soldiers being put to guard the border.

Belfast, Antrim, Ulster
July 19, 1837

The Earl of Carlisle had returned with a disturbing report concerning affairs in Ulster, and was now convinced that no more needed to be seen. If the Anglican north was in such dire straits, it could only be assumed that the Catholic south was already In full control. He sailed back to Liverpool, and would be in London in 3 days.

Ottawa, Ontario

The battle had lasted for five days, and the river Ottawa was now a sea of mingling blood, between the red and blue of the British and the Americaners. Now the British began a house-to-house assault on Americaner bases.

London

Queen Victoria meanwhile requested that in the next Parliament, a bill be passed to give Americaner leaders a full pardon after the war was finished. She, like her mother, was sympathetic to their plight, if not necessarily to their ends like her mother was. Elections would be in 5 days. The Japanese texts had not yet arrived in Britain, but when they did nearly a week after this, they would help give rise to a new group of radicals the following year.

Bristol

Finally, here in Bristol, a true game-changer for the world. The legendary engineer, Isembard Kingdom Brunel, had just launched an enormous paddle-ship, the SS Great Western. This new ship was the first true ocean-crossing vessel to be powered by steam, and could reach the recently pacified Atlantic Colonies in 2 weeks instead of 3. The Navy asked him to build transports that could do the same, but that would take several years to come to fruition.

July 20, 1837

After the Earl left, the war resumed. The Irish flags were raised again, and now, most of Ulster was under the control of Eoghan's forces. Only parts of County Cavan were still under British control, and they even took control of County Louth in Leinster. By now, the revolutionaries began issuing currency, the tras (symbol: X, meaning cross in Irish), divided into 100 tairní (symbol: T, meaning nails in Irish), to replace the pound at £48.00 = X1.00 (to reduce headaches in exchange rates, so a penny would get you 20T, a halfpenny 10T, and a farthing 5T). The poor families in the liberated zones were given "starter kits" of X500.00, or £24,000, while price controls were instituted to declare the highest price be 50T (so those with starter kits could buy land). Anglican-owned land was starting to be redistributed to the poor, some being sold directly, and others being given. The currency was entirely in bills though, with 1T, 5T, 10T, 25T, 50T, X1, X2, X5, X10, X20, X50, X100, X250, X500, and X1,000. Syndicalism was starting to take hold, with formerly-British owned companies beginning to be merged under the orders of Eoghan by industry to create "tionscail aontaithe" (confederated industries). Some Irish companies voluntarily joined the confederated industries, but they plan to only fully implement it once Ireland is fully liberated.

When Ardghan O'Berach found out of the revolt in Ulster led by Eoghan, O'Berach personally endorsed it, and decided to begin plans to start an uprising in Dublin. He believed that Eoghan's ideology would be a step towards his vision of Ireland.

St.Petersburg
With the commission well underway, all members of the commission highlighted many problems for the Imperial Russian Army. But one of the main ones was poor roads. They also creation of military districts. This idea that stems from the USA is to put a commder in charge of the forces in his district, but still commanded from St.Petersburg.
These plans are to be slowly implemented over the next 3-8 months.

Yes i understand that but i also want Malta from the deal. Its rightfully Italian after all and Italy did take it. So in the final deal i propose that Italy will be given Malta, the Ionian Islands, Crete and Cyprusand Mainland Greece will of course be given to the Ottoman Empire since your force's fought so well during this war.

I don't see why Suleiman the Magnificent wanted it, honestly." He shuffled papers and had a member of the Turkish diplomatic corps write out documents of treatise.

The man finished the document in Italian and Turkish and handed it to the men to sign. Sultan Mahmud II signed it with his signature, and slid it over to the Italian king.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands had been spectacularly stagnant. Changes to the homefront had kept Belgium in the state, while they continued to perceptually exploit Indonesia for their own benefit.

To: Koningin Victoria van het Huis Yamato, Koningin van het Verenigd Koninkrijk van Groot-Brittannië
From: Koning Willem I van Oranje, koning van Nederland, België en Luxemburg, Beschermer van Indonesië

Dear friend,

I am sorrowed to hear of your good uncle's passing, a man with whom I shared a name. The Kingdom remembers him fondly as an ally over some of the most crucial moments of the last decade. We hope your reign is as enlightened as can possibly be, giving Europe a new perspective from a far-off continent that to many of us in this land, seems foreign.

May your reign be long and prosperous,
King Willem I of the Netherlands

However, for Willem I, his reign was drawing near closed. Belgian discontent at his Old Guard totalitarian rule had chafed at the Hague quite severely. Willem I would soon face a crisis that could cost him his good throne.

Ottawa, Ontario

The Americaners were now fighting for every inch to the last, desperate man. Ishikawa sent the rest of his infantry into the battle, convinced that superior numbers would take them down, even if they had to kill every last man in Ottawa.

Buckingham Palace
London

Queen Victoria received the letter from King Willem, and sent this reply:

Your Majesty,

I thank you for your sympathy at the loss of my dear uncle, and I hope to assure you that Britain will continue to prosper and thrive, so long as I am here to guide it.

Sincerely,
Victoria,
Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

The muster for more troops to go to Ireland had meanwhile begun. This would take at least a week for them to arrive in Liverpool, and thence to Belfast, where they hoped they could rally the Orangemen in the north.

Alberto nodded and thought that the Reason that he wanted Malta was because of its strategic position in the middle of the Mediterranean. It was also part of Italia Irredenta meaning more popularity among the population. He kept quiet about it though. He then signed the documents of the treaty together with his diplomats signing the end of Greece.

" Sono d'accordo caro sultano Sono d'accordo caro sultano possa questa alleanza durerà un'eternità." ( I agree dear sultan may this alliance last an eternity.)

Off Mozambique

Admiral Kasumi Afurikawa, one of the more famous noble women of the Afurika colonies, navigated her ships south from Somalia towards Portugal's colony in Mozambique. Coordinated efforts had lead to Dutch ships heading down to Angola. In an instantaneous movement, the Japanese launched a full-scale naval attack on the Portuguese colonial capital.

At the same time, the Irish Home Army began mustering for troops. A decree by Aodh Eoghan declared Orangemen "should be free and accessible to all people and beasts, to the birds in the air, and the fish in water so that none can be made liable for any crimes committed against him," effectively allowing Orangemen to be murdered.

Thus, a typical process against Orangemen in areas either being attacked by the Irish rebels, or under Irish control would be to force suspected Orangemen and their families to undergo "seisiún streachailt" (struggle session): to confess their sins and crimes against the fatherland, to convert to Catholicism and name other Orangemen, or be executed by hanging (and their families).

At the same time, Irish soldiers began training soldiers and conducting massive recruiting for soldiers. All boys in liberated areas of Ireland aged 15 (age of majority) and younger wishing to join the Irish Home Army would go to the "Fir óga" (Young Men), mainly to sabotage British supply lines.

Meanwhile, Aodh Eoghan sends a communique to other nations...

To: King Charles-Albert of Italy, King Willem of the Netherlands, President Charles Marceaux of France, President of the Confederacy, Emperor Wilhelm of Germany and Pope Gregory XVI of the Roman Catholic Church, and so on and so forth except Britain
From: Athair Aodh Eoghan of Ireland

Today is the day that the Irish Home Army need help. For centuries, we have been under English oppression, and now, we have the courage to rise up against our colonial masters. However, we need help in gaining our liberty and freedom, against the British.

For the Pope, we need your blessing, for the revolt and to crown the High King akin to Charlemagne. We also need you to encourage Roman Catholics worldwide to fight for a free Ireland, and to support our cause for sovereign independence. In exchange, you shall have exclusive authority over all clergy, a payment of X500,000 (twenty four million pound sterling) per year, and the right to move the Papacy to Ireland if needed.

For everyone else, we request sending troops to fight in Ireland, so to help consolidate our regime and protect us against any future British imperialism and exploitation of this Emerald Isle. We also request supplies, so to aid the Irish nation. In exchange for your aid, you shall receive Irish goods for 50% of normal costs, and to only pay 25% of normal tariffs.

Will you support the Irish in fighting for their sovereignty?

Signed,

Dearest sir,

We regret to inform you that the Ottoman Empire will not support your revolution against Britain. We value our asses more than the Emerald Island, and we cannot afford to have the British turn against us during this critical time in the Sublime Porte's history. Perhaps if you proved you could beat Britain, I would reconsider my position.

Best wishes,
Sultan Mahmud II

Communiqué oifigiúil na Ríochta na hÉireann - Official Communique of the Kingdom of Ireland

Signed,
Aodh Eoghan
Athair of the Irish Home Army

I am hesitant, but I see no reason to allow a possibility of the growth of British hegemony.

A Message from the President of the Confederate States of America Jefferson Finis Davis
Richmond, Virginia, Confederate States of America

Good sir,

I sense in you a brother in the spirit of liberty and independence. While in the past I would not have affiliated myself with any Papist, I do find in you an ally against the rapacious and oppressive regime of the British monarchy, whether its head be William or Victoria.

Unfortunately, as we ourselves are in a rebellion, we can not divert men and arms from our own fight for self-determination. Thus, while you have our moral support, we cannot provide else.

Signed,
Jefferson Davis
President of the Confederacy

The Americaners were now fighting for every inch to the last, desperate man. Ishikawa sent the rest of his infantry into the battle, convinced that superior numbers would take them down, even if they had to kill every last man in Ottawa.

The Americaners now sought to try and take as many British down as they could.

Ernst I and III, King of Saxony and Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and his heir Ernst August are killed by part of the final dying thrashes of Polish separatism in the form of a Pole with a gun in his jacket. As a result, Ernst I and III's second son, Franz Albert August, will take the throne of Saxony as Albert I. Already engaged to the now-Queen Victoria, he is now King of Saxony, and although no one knows it yet, in 1840, upon the death of Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and I of Germany, he will be elected Emperor Albert I, Emperor of Germany and the Germans.

Four days of bloody battle had passed and nearly 12,000 British soldiers were either dead or missing, a testament to the hand-to-hand combat the British were facing. Now Ishikawa was determined that the time had come to end the slaughter, and set about destroying Ottawa to the last pile of wood and brick.

London

While this was progressing, in Britain came the general election. Melbourne and the Whigs lost another 41 seats, but they still had a majority of 30 over Peel's Conservatives, with 344 seats. He kept most of his Government in tact. His first acts in the new government were to eliminate burglary, arson, and shooting at someone(not murder) from the list of capital offences.

The force headed to Ireland was still a few days from formation.

The Americaners decided that the most they could hope for was to try and make any British victory a pyrrhic one, and now attempted only to kill as many British as they could through any means necessary before they themselves were slaughtered.

The sun beat down on Ottawa today, and the stench of the dead was almost unbearable, yet the British continued, after losing another 9,000 men in the fighting, yet now it seemed that there were very few Americaners left alive in the ruined city. The British were down to 38,000 men, just over half of what they started with. Ishikawa decided to set up his headquarters here, rather than advance to the southwest. Keane would have to take Toronto by himself, and eliminate the last Canadian stronghold.

Liverpool, Merseyside

The force of 6,500 men, led by Major General William G. K. Elphinstone had meanwhile been assembled, and was now headed for Belfast, here they believed they could raise the Protestants to fight for their country. They would arrive in Belfast in 2 days.

Béal Feirste (Belfast), Ireland

Around 7,500 men were raised, some from the Irish Home Army, others recruited into it, and several Fir óga, the youngest being six years old. The naval ships stationed in Belfast now flew the Irish tricolor, and the names were Hibernized. Even the name of Belfast was Hibernized to Béal Feirste, which is the origin of Belfast.

Meanwhile, Londonderry/Derry was renamed Doire, but Aodh Eoghan decided to rally the support of Ulster-Scots, by permitting them to keep their religion and language (Ulster-Scots) in Doire (Derrie), Tír Eoghain (Tyrone), and Dhún na nGall (Donegal, Dinnygal, Dunnygal). The Irish were concerned with Belfast falling, since despite it controlling Ulster, Belfast was seen as strategic. Thus, defenses were fortified, in anticipation of a British attack.

Ville de Liberte, Guyana

After a heavily contested election, the results were in: Miel Dessalines (b. July 14, 1799) would become the successor of President Jean-Charles Pichegru, and the outgoing President accepted the results, winning 54% of the vote. She would only be eligible for re-election in 1842. As such, Miel Dessalines became the first female head of government and state that was not a princess/Queen in a long time, or even in recorded history.

As such, the government of Guyana began preparing for her inauguration as President of the Republic of Guyana, and co-head of state of the Anglo-Guyanese Condominium of West Guyana.

General Elphinstone's force arrived outside Belfast, and began landing in the dead of night to avoid the main army. The first plan was to set up camp and keep It defended, while mustering the surrounding orange population to the British cause.
