The Sultan nodded and shook the man's hand, "Of course my friend. Let us journey to the Palace, where we can discuss the partition of Greece." He escorted the King to a carriage that road through the city. On the horizon, one could see the Ottomans beginning to reconstruct the Walls of Constantinople, which had fallen in 1453 to their armies, and hadn't been rebuilt.

The British had lost 95 men from the valiant attacks brought on them by the folk of the countryside, and were now outside Montpelier, heading towards Burlington, where the next part of their plan would unfold.

The Union Americaner resistance was totally collapsing, and only 5,000 men mustered to defend Burlington.

London

Britain's anxious wait for news concerning the King continued, and life still went on. Just yesterday, two inventors, Charles Whetstone and William Fothergill Cooke, submitted a patent for an electric telegraph. This used five needles to create an electronic signal, inefficient compared to how a Confederate man would perfect the system some years later. But for the time being, several of the new railways around southern England used the rudimentary system to send signals, but no messages as it would take the American(by the name of Samuel Morse) to perfect the system.

Alas, the British Cavalry wasn't used to the uneven ground and forested area, and 470 fell to the Americaner Infantry. When he saw this from a distance, Ishikawa sent in the infantry with orders to ground the Union forces into submission.

July 15, 1837

"Forward! Forward!" shouted Megumi Takibara, leader of the nationally famous "Students of Tokyo". She carried the yellow banner and marched forward through the streets of the Nerima Ward against the Conservatives who were looking to disperse them using various methods. The Conservative human link broke as several Conservative college students from the University of Tokyo broke through the peace-line carrying clubs and charged the lines.

Soon more Liberals and Conservatives began to duke it out in the Nerima ward. Soon, this unrest spread from the Nerima Ward into the city. The Merchant Row was engulfed in strife as college students following Conservative and Liberal policy began to vandalize and break into shops and merchant stalls that were affiliated with the opposing party.

Prince George and Prince Alexander had been sitting down for dinner when a fire-bomb, crudely made from a mixture of alcohol and a glass bottle was thrown into the Imperial Palace. The bomb exploded, ripping through one of the rooms. George, Alexander and several members of the Imperial Household Society moved to quickly douse the flames, which were put out within minutes.

The city of Tokyo's engulfing into civil unrest due to animosity between the Lefists and the Rightists eventually escalated into similar situations in Seoul, Kyoto, and Pyongyang. Prince George ordered the immediate closure of the University of Tokyo, the center of the Conservative and Liberal uprisings, and immediately declared martial law in the Seoul Prefecture, Kyoto Prefecture, Pyongyang, and All the Wards of Tokyo.

Megumi Takibara was arrested on July 16 and transported to Chakujitsu Prison in Eastern Sendai. Shortly afterwards, leader of the Conservative Student Movement, Hiroshi Takahashi, was arrested and sent to Meiyo Prison just outside Hiroshima.

The Seoul and Pyongyang rebellions were the easiest to put out, as the Koreans lived in fear of the Chinese invading at the first sign of Japanese weakness, and so when the IJA arrived, they quickly dispelled their weapons and fled.

The Tokyo and Kyoto uprisings were hard to contain as various students decided to stand up to the army instead of running.

The 1837 Uprisings would begin a great time of change for Japan.

The Infantry charged into Burlington with Bayonets, as the Cavalry was forced to retreat after taking another heavy rebuff with 250 men lost.

The supply trains arrived with their wooden boats today, while the Infantry in the town continued their assaults. Ishikawa now sent a further 1,000 men into the fray, hoping this might turn the tide.

Fort Garry, Manitoba

Keane's force had meanwhile made considerable progress in a fortnight. Traversing through flat, open country and perfect conditions, they arrived at the site of Fort Garry, a Hudson's Bay Post that had been destroyed when the river Red flooded over a few years ago. Now he kept 4,000 men there to rebuild the fort and, then head south into the Dakota region to build a new settlement, just across the frontier. This would be called Pembina. Keane would take another two weeks to arrive in Ontario however, as bad weather came on the 16th. And it was still very cool for June, especially in Ireland where it looked like the potatoes would fail again.

July 2, 1837
Belfast, Ireland

After reading "Torthaí na Saoirse" by Ardghal O'Berach, a British soldier, Aodh Eoghan (b. Dec. 1, 1790) was inspired. Having grown up in Belfast and born in a village near there, his first language was Irish, and his second English. Having been fluent in both, he joined the British military when he was 21, and now, he commanded the soldiers in Belfast. He was fully Irish, and by now opposed British rule. He initially converted to Anglicanism when he was 16, but when he turned 40, converted back to Catholicism.

Now, he carried a piece of paper, to today's service at his church, Saint Malachy's Church. He took part in the prayers, being an enthusiastic churchgoer (having followed the Bible and had most of the sacraments, including marriage (Fiona Eoghan, b. Sept 4, 1806, m. July 11, 1821), except ordination, and joined along. After the service, he took out the sheet of paper, a couple nails and a hammer, and hammered the paper on. In it were the "Fiche Dhá Tráchtais Réabhlóideach", or the "Twenty-Two Revolutionary Theses," outlining his ideology, and a desire to have an independent Ireland. On the left (from the viewer's PoV) were the Irish words, to the right were in English.

1. Ireland will be a united nation: one language, one religion, one culture, one state.
2. All attempts to try and dismember the Irish nation shall be suppressed lest Britain exploits Ireland again.
3. There will be a council of twenty-one persons: seven clergy, seven teachers, and seven soldiers, to elect a Ard Rí (High King) to guide the Irish nation.
4. Violence shall be used to regenerate the Irish nation and its relations, from one of which the British exploit and dominate us, to a more fair relationship.
5. A social revolution shall be put into place, to create a national syndicalist economy to create national syndicates of both employees and employers to mutually organize and control the economic activity of Ireland.
6. There shall be respect for private property in Ireland with the exception of nationalizing credit facilities to prevent usury within Ireland.
7. Strikes by employees and lockouts by employers shall be considered illegal, for it harms the progress of the Irish nation.
8. The Irish nation shall comprise of four provinces, and thirty-two counties, and as such cannot be divided into other countries.
9. Our Celtic heritage and our success in all achievements gives indications that the Scots, the Cornish, the Manx, the Bretons, the Welsh and the Irish are "cine mó" (a greater race) than the British occupiers.
10. The one language shall be Gaeilge, and all other languages are only useful to communicate with other nations.
11. The religion shall be Catholicism: if the directives of the state conflict with Catholic doctrine, Catholic doctrine applies.
12. The culture shall be traditional Irish culture, and the goal of the state is to restore the culture to what it was prior to British occupation.
13. The state is founded on two principles: service to the nation, and co-operation of classes to make a stronger Ireland.
14. Women are to be caring and loving mothers, to raise our lads to advance the Irish nation. Thus, women are to be in the home. and submit to their husbands.
15. Education shall be compulsory: schools are to be set up, to instil the values of the Irish nation and culture into our lads.
16. Agrarian reform is to be encouraged, to redistribute land from absentee British Lords, to the Irish peasants.
17. Industrial expansion is necessary, to ensure the Irish will out-produce Britain, and make Ireland richer.
18. The capital of the Irish nation is to be at "Teamhair na Rí" (Tara Hill), but until completion, Dublin shall be the provisional capital.
19. The Ard Rí is elected every 7 years by the Council, and has absolute power except dissolving the Council.
20. The emblem of Ireland shall be the arms of the Four Provinces, with the supporters being an Irish man to the left, and an Irish woman. The coronet shall be High King's crown (British Herald's crown) and the motto shall be "Ceann, Mhór, agus Saor" (One, Great, and Free).
21. The flag of Ireland will comprise of a green stripe, a white stripe, and an orange stripe, each being 1/3rd of the width of the flag.
22. The symbol of the ideology shall be an Irish harp with the motto below it.

Below the text was the three symbols: the Irish harp with "Ceann, Mhór, agus Saor," the Irish state's coat of arms, and the flag of Ireland. He had copies of them: seven, but decided to return home. He needed to rest. Tomorrow, he will get to work at the base, to inform soldiers of his plan for an independent Ireland.

Winter Palace,St.Petersburg,Russian Empire
As the warm sunshine shone outside,Tsar Nicholas stood on the balcony of his palace marvelling his great capital.Russia had come a long long way in the last 60 years. While ever modernising Russia was still a long way from boasting as one of the great powers. With the Decembrist revolt being one of the revolts crushed in Nicholas' time as Tsar it showed that he was not going to be toppled easily.
Now however time was pressing. With colonies in America,Nicholas had goals set out for the next 6 months.

1.To establish a series of forts in Alaska along with a main port.
2.To recruit for numbers of troops for service in the Russian navy and military.
3.To establish more trade links.
4.To assess the situation in Asia.

He thought to himself as these goals where to be giving to every one of his advisors. He then walked out to the balcony again to admire the city.

Ishikawa's factory here seemed assured, and now he prepared to cross Lake Champlain and arrive in Plattsburgh, New York. Thereafter, his army would turn north and cross the border at Cornwall, Ontario, and thence march onto Ottawa. It would take three days for the entire force to cross the lake.

The King was getting worse, with periods where his breathing became strange, and his heartbeat slowed to nearly a crawl. William Howley, the Archbishop of Canterbury had been summoned to Windsor on this day to perform the necessary rites upon his death, which would now be any day. And among all this, Queen Adelaide never left his side.

Bad weather, indeed the same storm that had caused problems for Keane in the west, had arrived in New England, and the advance had to be postponed. At 9:12 P.M, a large bolt of lightning suddenly ripped through Ishikawa's tent, setting it on fire. He managed to get out unscathed, but he had a feeling that this was an omen of some great change...

At that very moment, King William opened his eyes, looked towards his beloved Queen, and gasped his last breath. William IV, King of the United Kingdom and King of Hanover, was dead. Archbishop Howley said, "The King dies in Christ, and his spirit carries to eternal life."

Archbishop Howley and the Lord Chamberlain, Marquess Conyngham, rushed to London in a carriage to inform the young 18-year old Victoria that she was now Queen, knowing not that she would be one of the greatest leaders the empire would ever see.

July 3rd, 1837
Belfast

Aodh Eoghan arrived to the base. It was a naval base, in full uniform. It also housed barracks for the soldiers, of which he commanded. After giving orders to sound the bugles to the mess hall, where he hammered the 22 Theses on the main doors. After the soldiers poured into the hall, he began his speech. No longer did he feel the need to "regulate" his Irish accent, for it will make a point: that he will now lead an Irish revolt.

Thus, before they began eating, he said in his natural Irish accent, "Dear comrades. Today, you are no longer going to defend British exploitation of this fair emerald isle. This land is home to the purest of races: the Celts, in particular, the Irish. We will now fight, to liberate Ireland from British imperialism, to see this dear land truly Irish: not a colony, but rather, a sovereign state, under these principles."

He then began reading the 22 Theses, first in English, then in Irish.

Once he finished it, he said, "These policies shall be our guide from now on, to achieve freedom in Ireland. You shall get food, water, land, and housing, and you shall get paid."

He then asks, "Should Ireland become free?" That question would determine now, if he would go down in history as a revolutionary, or just one of the crazy, drunken loons that wandered Belfast. It was only a couple of weeks since William died, but it would surely change the course of history for Ireland.

The Irish soldiers mostly shouted "IS EA!" Yes.

Loyalist soldiers were scared into timidity...for now. Soon though the Earl of Carlisle, Chief Secretary for Ireland, would be told, and from there Melbourne, an Irishman himself, would take the helm, even though his Government had been dissolved upon the sovereign's death, as was then the custom, and elections would soon be held for Parliament throughout the UK.

"Let us eat," he said, "and then after that, we will raise the tricolor, and then WE SHALL MARCH TO SAINT ANNE'S!" He then repeated it in Irish. Thus, they consumed their usual rations at the hall. After they finished their meal, a few soldiers brought out a makeshift flag, made of green, white and orange bedsheets, to raise. The British flag was lowered briskly, and then the makeshift Irish flag was raised. Now was the time, to march to the Anglican St. Anne's Cathedral, and "confiscate it" from the British. They decided to dress in ceremonial uniforms, and marched in formation. Two soldiers carried another makeshift Irish flag.

St. Anne's Cathedral
Belfast, Antrim, Ireland

The bells rang in mourning as the period continued, and Richard Mant, the Anglican Bishop of Down and Connor(which included Belfast) went out to open the doors for a service in remembrance of the King. As he opened the doors, he saw a large contingent of Irish soldiers in their ceremonial uniforms, waving orange-white-green flags and heavily armed. He said, "Good men, what is the purpose of this demonstration on this sad day?"

"I will give a bollocking to you!" Aodh exclaimed. "Your English oppression MUST come to an end. Now, hurry the fuck up, and leave the cathedral, or I shall turn your satanic church, to a place worthy of Ireland!"

He then gave orders to the soldiers to "take everything they can except the walls, the windows, the organs, the pews, and the base of the altar," and to drive out the Archbishop or execute him.

The Archbishop was simply stunned. He watched as his cathedral was defaced by the very people who the British had sought to control, the Catholics of Ireland. He withdrew from the church without a struggle, but shouted, "The Queen shall hear of this!" on his way out. British soldiers on patrol also saw the Irish sacking, and ran up to the Nationalists demanding their dispersal, and then one of their rifles misfired.

When one of the rifles misfired and killed an Irish soldier, the Irish almost quickly assumed that it was intentional, and some at the bell-tower began firing at the British on the streets below, while others battled indoors. Aogh began trying to increase fervor by having Aogh say, "Éire," they reply, "Ceann," then "Éire," which the soldiers reply with "Mhór", and then "Éire" before they replied "Saor!"

As they fired their muskets at the British, it was clear that it won't be easy getting to Dublin.
