Quick question on weaponry-
We're limited to M4's, but that's military grade weaponry. A hunting rifle- a Remington 700 in 30-06- would be just as effective, and I know that the Fireflies will need a sniper.

Name:Melanie Parker
Age: 28
Personality: Melanie has been shaped by the world as she now knows it. She no longer knows kindness, empathy, remorse or love. To her such emotions makes one weak, vulnerable. She is ill tempered, reckless and won't think twice about sending a bullet into the head of someone who is infected. Though her eyes seems to be warm and inviting, they are cold and judgmental. Melanie puts up walls in order to keep everyone at a distance, never really opening up to anyone. She knows she's good looking and uses her looks to manipulate others to get what she wants. She may act like a team player, but every move she makes serves her interest. To everyone she is tough as nails, a bitch. However Melanie will never let anyone know, that deep down, underneath it all, she is frightened.
Appearance:
Biography: Melanie Parker was born July 18th, 2005 in Northern California. Her father was Sergeant with the Sacramento County Sheriff, her mother was a high ranking executive at telecommunications company. Growing up Melanie had it easier than most. She was never told "no", never denied the things she wanted, her parents gave her the life they never had. Melanie spent of her days as any young girl should, playing dress-up with her friends, learning to ride a bike, watching animated movies with her father and having pretend tea parties with her mother.

However her perfect life was shattered when the infection broke out. Her parents barely made it out of the city, speeding down surface streets and back roads, avoiding the cluster fuck of chaos on the freeways. However as they made it down the Jackon Highway, her father never saw that truck until it was too late. A Dodge collided with the driver side of her mother's Mercedes, sending the battered car into the air, flipping 5 times and coming to rest in a grassy field.

Melanie woke up several days later, her body bruised and broken, her parents nowhere to be seen. Nobody ever really told her what happened to them, but she knew. She taken in by a couple, Kyle and Adriana Dawson. Kyle was about her father age and was Sargent with the US Army. They headed out of California and made their way to Fort Carson where the Dawson's raised Melanie alongside their own sons. However she never felt like she truly belonged with them. They were able to live somewhat peacefully for a few years, then the Fireflies over ran the camp, with Adriana being a casualty. Soon after Melanie enlisted with FEDRA, and after completing basic was shipped to Boston. Any infected are killed immediately, and Melanie waste no time pulling the trigger, not wanting to hear their pathetic pleas for mercy. Some may say what the remaning US government is cruel that they're nothing by tyrants. Despite the public outcry, Melanie believes what she is doing is justified, and that it is what's best for the greater good, and for herself.

Name: David Allen
Age: 26
Personality: David is very passionate about the things he loves- and those are old concepts now, the thought of freedom; rights, justice. He has no true friends; only a few comrades in the Fireflies, because he was devastated at age 22 when he entrusted himself to the love of his life- and she betrayed him. Firey. Untrusting.
Appearance: Without the massive sniperchaingun thing of course. Keeps the gas mask on at almost all times.
Biography:
Born and raised in South Carolina, David lived in the small but not-so-quiet town of Myrtle Beach for five years before the virus struck and turned his life into a fight for survival. His parents were extremely liberal in their political views, but David took a different stance- after age 10, when they both died of the virus because they had no gas masks, and david was forced to put them down- and his stance was that rights were what was important.

After a few more years of trying to make his way in South Carolina, David headed up to Pittsburg, where he heard there was a quarantine zone. The trek was long and hard, and he was close to being killed several times, but found a very trustworthy Remington 700 along the way with a whole load of ammo in a man who had been infected and wished for nothing more than a return to his home. David obliged him, and afterwords, killed the man to put him out of his misery.

Closer to now, David's far more hardened. He's been fighting with the 'flies since about age 20 and is one of the most potent snipers in the entire group. However, he tends to keep to himself. He's been through quite a lot. And he'll go through more, willingly, until America is right again. If that means cooperating with the Fireflies, a group that doesn't share his exact goals, then fine.

Biography: One of the leading officers in the Fireflies cadres. As a former pediatrician, he was drafted into the provisional military force, serving as a medic during the disarray of the early years. Over time he grew disgusted with the increasingly callous nature of his fellow soldiers, and the brutalities to which they committed unto their civilian population. His unbending altruistic nature put him at odds with the draconian orders he was commanded to enforce, until at last he could no longer stomach the constant moral indignation. A breaking point came when Emilio was sentenced to public lashing after smuggling military rations and medicine into the quarantine zone. Emboldened by his anger, at first chance he fled from military internment, seeking enlistment with the newly forming Fireflies.

Emilio's skills as a doctor and his fanatical devotion to the cause allowed him a swift rise through the new organization's solidifying hierarchy. His absolute love for his comrades-- treating them as if they were his own sons and daughters-- garnered him a leal support base. He served mostly from behind the frontlines, a tactician and 'fixer', with an eye for the politics that permeate the Fireflies power structure. When hearing of the new operation against the Boston stronghold, he used his influence to assign himself a role on the assaulting element. He willingly serves under Fireflies much younger than him, for the opportunity to strike at the military's heartland was too great for the old, begrudgened man, to resist.

Just noticed a few things on here. First off, the military is brutal, but not to their own, they would never sentence anybody to a 'public lashing'. Second off, if you're a skilled doctor from the military and the fireflies get their hands on you they're either going to (1) kill you because you came from the military or (2) force you to work with them and find the cure, meaning you would not be going to the Boston QZ with the regulars. Until you reply to this and explain your app or fix it, you are on probation, meaning you can not post in the IC.

I think that could work if you (1) could be in one of the cities that we are going through and we pick you up on the way because you wanted to come with us and help out at Boston, or (2) are living in or near the Boston QZ and help/hinder the US Forces. I'd like to keep any stories from any other cities out of this and also keep all characters in line with the story. If you could fit something like that into your character's biography/storyline I think you'd be able to pull it off.

What!?

Look at the other applications on this bud, you have some work to do on your bio and your character overall. There were no russian movements to the US ever in the storyline of The Last of Us, and thus I'm not going to allow it. Secondly, you gave me no background at all as to why he joined the Fireflies or how even. Again, denied.
