Coming from a Canadian who by no means has supported a lot that the US has done in the past decades, calling the NATO intervention in Afghanistan an invasion of a sovereign nation is flat out wrong. Firstly, the mission was approved and mandated by the UN General Assembly and Security Council. Secondly, there was no sovereign authority in Afghanistan following the fall of the communist backed government in the 80s.

As for China, the US military is still larger. Of the course the SAS is better than the average US army soldier, it's a ludicrous comparison to take the most highly trained unit in the world and stack it against a regular military force.

I believe he was comparing the SAS to Force Recon, the Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, etc. y'know the specially trained forces of the United States.

And as a U.S patriot, I side with Skal on this discussion.

Yes France is big and powerful here but have enemies around every corner. Not really fun in some ways. That's why I Might take a more balanced nation and we did forget the ottomans and Netherlands as secondary or major powers.

Depends. They don't have the best relations with austria or Russia because of their history but would also want to regain Egypt something the British are stooping.

Well, I'm still waiting for the modern RP that is completely alternate. But as NGR announced he's quite busy that might take a while.

The problem with having it so early is that everyone's history is bound to clash with each other. I prefer to go from the Great Divergence at earliest, but it's not my RP.
