Izumi sighed as the fierce wind blew against her pale skin. Thunder clouds gathered in the distance and as Izumi opened her crimson eyes she saw a bolt of lightning strike the ground. As this occured she noticeably flinched at the abruptness of it, and the crackling sound which came seconds afterwords. From this height, Izumi could see the entire city from the safety of the Imperial Palace. The design of the building was quite beautiful and seemed enough to inspire national pride, and patriotism in many a citizen. Despite enjoying a generation of peace from foreign influences, the Shogun and the Emperor had recently come to a disagreement on how to handle the encroaching shadow of the outsiders. Many believed allowing such people to interact within the empire would ruin the great nations way of life. Others of course knew that to evolve and learn would be the only way to ensure true peace. The debate had reached a standstill of course as the reactionaries, and the restorationists were at each others throats. Izumi closed her eyes and thought back to the way the Shogun spoke of outside influences. How it would be the end of our dear nation. Izumi of course did not know what to believe at this point as it seemed both arguments were fairly valid.

Izumi sighs once again. The reminiscent memories coming back to her she could remember the day she closed off her doors to the world for good all those hundred of years ago. The day she cut ties with everyone, including her own sister. True she regretted doing what she did, but there were circumstances and in time maybe she would understand. Today though would be different as Izumi stood up and looked around. Today she would go, and visit her relative for a short while.

Kyoto, the capital for the bastion of hope that is Oaledonia. Ever since the city was reconstructed in this new world it shone an era of peace and prosperity for the Union that is Oaledonia, now the peaceful city stands glimmering in the mild midday summer sun. Within the city there are a multitude of marvelous buildings that seem to stretch to the heavens above. Within the mess of sleek silver buildings and smooth curves that construct the city lies the shining docks. Clashing directly with the traditional architecture that lies withen the haert of the city, including the shrine Kamigamo-jinja. The northern side of the modern buildings were adorned with the seal of Oaledonia. The bustling capital was as alive as ever as the sound of traditional kokyūs strumming within the class and concrete jungle echoed off of every surface it came in contact with. The buildings were nice to marvel at, but on the ground most people opted to use traditional hakamas and kimonos instead of suits and ties. The sun hung heavy in the sky as it swelled over the horizon.

At street level, almost all of the ethnic groups were visible if one could take the time to scan over the crowd. There were the obvious Humans, the less common Kitsunes, Nekos, Yuki Onna, and many other supernatural goodies that seem to come straight out of a child’s dreams wander the streets. Upon closer inspection of the docks, one can see paintings of Oaledonia’s history etched into the marble walkway leading to the entrance. Along the walls leading to the docks entrance where hymns of peace. Just outside the gate, on both sides, stood two revolutionary guards of the OAF GSG-9 unit. They saluted as a Girl with blonde hair and kitsune ears came out of the exit. Her dimly lit eyes radiated a blue tint as she stepped into the sun. Her zori sandals made a different sound as he transitioned from the linoleum floor to the marble walkway.

This girl was Oaledonia's personification, Kaiya Akiyama, and she sat at the docks near the water. The girl had gained via word of mouth that a traditional looking ship baring traditional markings was headed for the docks, She knew that the sudden appearance of a ship with the same markings as Oaledonian ships could mean only one thing, her isolationist sister was reappearing. Kaiya thought back to the day she left her sister, playing together in the garden and adoring the cherry blossoms. Then they got into an argument over staying isolationist are not, in the end the last words spoke were "I hate you, go die!" between the two of them. After the heart brake, Kaiya left the palace and never returned. She vowed that she would never see her sister again, but that soon changed...

Kaiya returned the casual bow, "Anata ni onaji, ane" she said in return. Behind Kaiya stood Kyoto, who was also bowing at the moment. She quickly recovered as Kaiya did and stood shyly in the backdrop of the city. The entire spectacle was not too unknown to the Oaledonians.
