My friend's dad was supposed to be in the Twin Towers on 9/11/01, but had another meeting to go to on the opposite side of the city.
He was called to said meeting 30 minutes before the first plane hit. My friend's dad worked on a floor that was instantly destroyed by the first plane.

Conclusion; My friend's dad was saved by his other meeting. Had he not needed to go to a different meeting, my friend wouldn't have a dad right now.

9/11 is terrible, but there was also a great good that happened that day.
Augusto Pinochet overthrew the Socialist president of Chile. His reign wasn't all fun and games, but he managed to keep Allende from destroying the country of Chile.



So I guess both good and bad can happen on the same day. Evil men kill innocent people and a general saves an entire country.
