All lot of the time it's given to people who are far-right, jingoistic, xenophobic, etc. In the context of Japan it would probably be someone who wanted US bases removed, the military to be officially reinstated, and article 9 of the Constitution to be removed.

Really, they're going to ask for a ransom ridiculously high.

Also, think of this as Japanese soldiers in the Rape of Nanjing. They're that brutal. :P
