That's pretty much what I was thinking, I was thinking it would be a state-funded, but it would be a university that would actually make the offer. Maybe there is another university in France we could work with, is there?

I'm not sure but I would think France would have a decent number of University's that could be used for that type of program. Might have to do a little research on French University's but there should be one we could make good use of.

Alright, so just give me a school's name, and I can probably pound out an IC request within the hour. :)

I'm not great with French names so if you want you can come up with a name for the university. I'm gonna try to do some quick research for the best university in France during this time.

I was looking at it, and one of the only reasons the University of Paris(which was founded around 1150) only became inactive due to the French Revolution, and if Paris was retaken, then it may be assumed that it resumed operations, and therefore active.

Good enough?

Believe it or not it not I was gonna take the easy route of using the University of Paris wasn't sure if it was a real university or not but since it is that's perfect. 8)

Hmmm, I don't believe so... I have a few reasons not to do it.

1) The cotton produced in that region is one of Ionia's main exports;
2) The people there is heavily attached to their land. Even if Cornelius would be willing to sell you Georgia, you and me would have to face a large rebellion from the settlers;
3) This one is an OOC reason. I had other plans for Georgia and the rest of Ionian North America. With that IAC sailor studying the Socialist Manifesto from Dvipantara, he'll be inspired to lead a rebellion in the colony. Independance, woo-hoo.

Sorry for this, Hal, but I'm keeping it.

Nothing to be sorry about I didn't think you was going to sell it anyways was curious if I could obtain it peacefully. With the way things are going right now I'm thinking eventually France is gonna get pulled into Russia's war in Crimea so I'm just gonna be fighting that war by trying to conquer colonies instead of sending armies to fight directly in Crimea or the Middle East.

Going to work soon, but I understand the points everyone is making. I'd say settle it in the IC and then we'll see who is right, haha. I'll post on the Northern Alliance thread soon.

I need more interaction ICly. Any takers?

You're Scandinavia, right? Though you seem to be both IC and OOC friendly, I'd like to give you the offer of joining the war on my side. The Russians would no doubt also, if they could become even more powerful, seek to regain the lands they lost to you in the First Russian War. Strike now and you could take out their Baltic port, directing trade instead to your ports, as well as knocking down a competitor and securing your borders. It'd also make you friendly with Prussia, so your neighbours would either be easy to contain - a weakened Russia and the Hanseatic League - or friendly - Prussia.

Looks like the argument has taken it`s course, it seems to me that the citizens of traditional Qirim lands would not support the Russians and some would fight them, the Russians would probably view an invasion positively unless the Russian Empire began pillaging
I find it hard to believe that the entire country can be fully occupied before support arrives

I have role-played a bit more on the blood of dragons site a bit more. I was pretty young when I wrote those role-play and I was also a bit more warmongering. I have changed and mellowed a bit and I hope the OP and other realize this. I am only in for a fun role-play with new people. I hope I am accepted and I can post very soon.

Almost imagined a Southerner saying that but then I remembered that Southerners aren't really in the South in this alternative history. When or if you go to war with Russia might want to keep a close eye on not only Georgia but all of your colonies. Gonna use the conflict to my advantage and hopefully benefit from it. 8)

Can I suggest some things for you to put in your app?

1) Remove the part about using other nations' ports. I mean, you can do it in the RP, but you'd have to discuss this with another nation in the IC thread first. Gives you something to do when (and if) you join, at least. ^^

2) I see you say some areas have better roads and etc. than some other areas in your nation. Maybe you could specify what areas are less advanced (for example, in my app I specified that the roads are better in the west side of Ionia, where the main cities are, and that in the countryside to the east they're a lot worse).

3) I think you can have more soldiers than just that. A population of 21 million and a half, with just 20 thousand soldiers?

4) Write a bit more on the History part. You can read our old thread, Blood and Bayonets, and base yourself on Transdanubia (played by Ublia) for it (the lands you are claiming are basically Ublia's old territory)! I think you could do something pretty cool with it. :D

And good strategy, Hal. Very good strategy... Maybe you could also use the rebels in your favor, when the thing happens.
Anyways, I'm still fighting for it. Forrest Gump and Lynyrd Skynyrd will be mine.

Why has Musoma been left out of the new conflict with Russia?

We were allied with Qirim and send 5000 troops to aid their cause.

What about Poland? I feel as though people are forgetting about Poland. Remember, the Poland in this RP is not the Poland of RL, seeing as how in RL they did not exist at this time.

And also don't forget, Sweden is part of the Northern Alliance along with Russia, France, and Poland.

I feel like I have maxed out the amount of times a person can put Poland in one post lol.

I've been wondering what kind of tech does Musoma have? Are you like semi modernized or almost fully there?
