The likelyhood of him having faced one with similar abilities is through the roof. Problem, youngest of the group. No one listens.a

Gier meets Shogun, he goes to Shogun and talks with him a bit, before placing his hand on him in some fashion and boom, the 13 year old Shogun has memories of Gier being his father's best friend or actually his father, memories of him being a great man to him, almost like a second or true father to him. Suddenly the 5000 thousand years of training, skill, and tactics mean squat as Shogun is 100% positive that Gier is a man that he could never hurt, and that something must be forcing Giers hand or what not.
