Population is um, not really realistic here. You may have one of the provinces in China if the OP allows, Workser asked for one more closer to Korea. I am not really supportive of Japan having colonies outside of East Asia and it seems even Siam and Northern Borneo is a bit far of a stretch. However, I am only a CO-OP and it would be better to wait for the OP himself.

I'm going to side with you here. Maybe North Borneo, but Siam was kind of protected by Britain and France wasn't it? It seems too early for wide scale colonization.

More than one thousand years ago, Japan was founded under the Imperial Shogunate. Since then, we have discovered that the world is much bigger than we had once thought. We were open up in 1816 by a ship which said it was from "Hapsburg". The United States of Hapsburg forced us to trade with them, and this caused the Meiji restoration - that is, the restoration of Imperial control over Japan. With this restoration, many new western features were introduced. Such as the Imperial Diet, which is our nations parliament, and industrialization. Now, Japan controls a vast empire, and The Empire of the Rising Sun is a fledging global power! Long live the Emperor!

Briefly describe your Nation's government.

Our Empire is governed by two bodies. The Imperial Diet, who is voted for by the people of the Empire, and the Imperial Family, who are hereditary and claim the title of Emperor, they hold no real power. The Imperial Diet is a collection of the representatives of the Prefectures of Japan, each one having a certain number from 1-10 depending on their population. All people can vote, as long as they have a Japanese citizenship. The Diet swears allegiance to Japan and its Emperor, and the Japanese Imperial Armed Forces swear allegiance to the Emperor.

Briefly describe your Nation's economic system.

The Empire of the Rising Sun is a Capitalist state. Much of our income is from trade or industry, we make money by selling things. We also believe in Free Trade, and the government poses no restrictions on trade, to ensure its freedom! Our currency is the Japanese Yen, and our national bank is the Imperial Bank of the Rising Sun, or IBRS for short.

Combined population of what is left of Japan [37.313 Million], Brunei [0.013 Million], Sarawak [0.250 Million], and the area in China, which is about a third of Hebei [5.979 Million], is about 43.555 Million. However, your population could be a bit larger since in RL part of that part of Hebei, as in a portion of the area you hold, was blocked off by Manchurians from settlement. In alternate history it might now have happened.

Briefly describe your Nation's history.

The PDRS was only formed recently in 1870 and as such, it does not have a long history. The PDRS was orginally founded by a mixture of Swiss Nationalists and Swiss Communists in 1865 from which the Swiss National Army or SNA, was created. The SNA resisted the Hapsburg occupation of Switzerland from its mountain fortresses after the defeat of the Swiss government and eventually a peace treaty was signed in 1867 after two long years of fruitless sieges against the SNA.

Three years later, a civil war broke out between the Nationalists and Communists which was short but bloody and ended in a Communist victory. Soon, oppressed Communists from across Europe began to trickle into the newly-created PDRS, dubbed the 'One Free Land' by those who live there.

The PDRS is a one-party state controlled by the Swiss Communist Party. All other parties are banned and and rooted out, but the government doesn't oppress the people.

The PDRS is a functioning example of the Communist economy. The state owns everything and the people work for the good of the state and in exchange the state uses to supplying its people with free food, transport, housing and the like.
