An ultimatum I will send, as for an alternative offer that will largely be something along the lines of "House Redwyne + allies won't crush you" so it is hardly an appealing alternative.

Well he has more or less been arrested and his ravens killed so unless Bartholomew lets him or he manage to smuggle a message out it doesn't seem likely.

The Ironborn are raiding in the Westerlands, the Lannister's has tightened their grip on King's Landing. The Starks are marching north to deal with the wildling invasion while simultaneously calling for a council to decide on the succession (which it has OOC'ly more or less been agreed should take place in Harrenhal). Grand Maester Gerold has been arrested. House Baratheon is on the verge of pledging allegiance to Highgarden in exchange for a dynastic marriage and representatives from both Tyrell and Baratheon is meeting Prince Quentyn in Oldtown. Arryn seems to be looking for an alliance with the Lannisters. Volantis and Braavos try to expand encountering Redwyne opposition. A 35k strong Lannister army is preparing to march on the capital, presumably by way of the Riverlands.

So since the position of Lord Commander of the Kingsguard was taken, can I just edit my app for one of the members of House Clegane to be on the Kingsguard, then?

Localities such as Dragonstone, Castle Black and Summerhall was mentioned as alternatives. In the end Harrenhal's central location and ability to accomodate a large gathering of lords was favored by the plurality/majority. King's Landing was opposed since the city is under complete Lannister control.

But Harrenhal has not been IC'ly chosen yet and Grand Maester Gerold may call it to King's Landing in order to convince the Lannister's if he has to (and survive).

It's a big if, but really, the Redwynes could've been a tad more diplomatic to the guy that's been putting councils to the torch and freeing slaves en masse... you never know how many slaves actually root for him.

Hightower gold is vast, but again this is measured against the Iron Bank of Braavos which is the wealthiest institution we know of.
And in all-out war, we know Braavos has the Arsenal that can manufacture a warship a day, something no one else has.

So all-in-all this is an interesting situation.

I liken RPing to a Movie or a TV show, so in the TV show(Game of Thrones like the title of our RP) the war didn't start really until the second season.. So give it some time.

I think it's implied that all parties agree to abide by the decision reached at a Grand Council. Another line isn't the end of the world unless they intend to violently press the claim. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Targs killed off every second son born. lol

If nothing else a Grand Council could at least serve as a vehicle for the war, with one side being disgusted with the outcome and refusing to abide.

You're correct, but what I'm saying is I think the point of the Grand Council is that the participants agree to abide by the decision. So if one line is chosen over the other, all agree to recognize it as the senior branch. Doesn't necessarily stop a war, but for RP purposes could serve as a vehicle for destruction.
