I feel like we haven't seen anything on the level of Stannis' letter to the Realm revealing the Lannister incest and claiming his throne. So far all I have now is the Hand rather limply announcing there is a new king with no details or right to claim.

I propose that the Tyrells join the Martells and that the Martells claim the throne. That would seem fair.

The Arryns have declared for no one. And they shan't any time soon, either, not yet.

Also, has the GC began quite yet?

True, but the Martell player hasn't posted in a while...

The Greyjoys are pretty much decidedly anti-Lannister, but neutral towards the rest of the realm as ever. Sorrick of course wants to rip the Iron Islands away from them all and become King, but he's still got two brothers between him an the Seastone Chair. As for Raddon, if it means he gets to lay low House Lannister, he might just declare for the King in Sunspear in exchange for some goodies, like choice coastal castles and a place for his family in the new order. I've still got to return to Raddon's point of view, but suffice to say he's starting to lean towards fealty over independence if it means he has a better chance of repaying Bloody Bart for his insult.

I guess the problem (for House Stark anyway) is that they have never been beaten by any of the southron kingdoms, and so have little reason to follow anyone but House Targaryen for now since their oaths were solely to the Dragon. A Great Council could clarify the matter of succession legally speaking, but if that isn't happening then why swear oaths to some southern house at all?

To be clear this isn't a kingindanorf proclamation, but observation on the situation. OOC I had considered Lannister for balancing purposes if Martell got Tyrell or Baratheon support, but IC I can't justify it now.

I imagine Lannister might throw his armies at Harrenhal then, to try and force the issue. Or it could end without a decision, leading to war anyway.

Oh, uhm, Laerio could just be so insulted that he wants Bart to pay. King's Landing doesn't have wildfire this time, last time I heard, so naval invasion there is possible.

The thing I fear is that a GC might lead to endless banter that bleeds the RP from its creativity... I like politics, but some people are more bloodthirsty... :p A seizing of Harrenhal might indeed be a possibility though.

I asked the Lannister guy about a marriage and he didn't affirm or deny it.

So, I have reason to believe he will deny it.

Which means that I still have a son open for marriage, specifically to the Martells ...

Claim bastardy. Or depose wicked councilors.

Sealord Laerio Grynsell wrote:It's still somewhat odd that Bart wants a kingsguard to die so badly... it's just not practical.

His political enemies will go nuts with this one. The King's Hand betrayed the trust of the rightful king, murdered one of his guards, and seems to have appointed a whole new Kingsguard, compose entirely of Lannister bannermen, in clear contradiction to the law. I would love to play that role, but I'm not sure it's practical in-character at the moment since House Velaryon is trying to kiss up to the Great Houses in exchange for their elevation to the seat of Dragonstone.

Aye, I was really surprised by that. I mean, it works well, and I'm almost glad it happened like that since it sets a good narrative for the rest of the story, but I was expecting Daemin's little defiance to be twisted as another reason why they had to get Tywin into the city as quickly as possible. Killing a Kingsguard for doing his job? Really setting up Bart as the Stannis of the RP, there.

Is it bad that I somewhat like Stannis? It probably has a lot to do with Davos. He's just so unconventional and interesting. I also love Shireen because she breaks the stereotype that all princesses should be pretty and what not.

Bart is Stannis/Tywin.

That part about killing a few to save thousands was Tywin in the blood, while being so butthurt about Daemin is Stannis.

Stannis the Mannis, 2016!

But yeah, everyone should root for Stannis. He deserves the crown, even if he'd flounder under its weight.
