EDIT: I doubt the Pope will condone having Muslims on Italian soil, even if they are there to 'help' a Catholic nation, so I wouldn't go too far in saying that they won't be reliable. Also, we don't have to fight a pitched battle with the Romans. We merely let them come to us and beat their heads against the wall. Medieval warfare favors the defender.

Well, I plan on liberating Venice. And the Pope will probably take our side or no side at all, considering that the Romans invaded the Papal States and made him a "prisoner in the Vatican" about 450 years too early.

It's OK, this will be a purely British affair. Anyway, France wouldn't be popular with the Pope either after their last letter to him, so we have ample justification as loyal Catholic nations to invade.

The Liberation of Venice is a justifiable goal but will require a far larger military force and some kind of naval presence, which both our nations will lack at the time. It's where the Muslim forces could become extremely important, especially if they could perform a naval blockade on Roman ports without bringing out the ire of the Greeks. As for the French, well, I'll remain firmly neutral but will be willing to side with you if you feel you ever need the military support. After all, my Emperor will be married to your Princess.

I was thinking more along like of papal approval for invasion of France, granting us papal banner for the invasion.

BTW, I sent you message in IC saying we are open to it and we would like to form council to meet and decide issue properly...

All of Italy is taken. I know, it's kinda hard to see it on the map but it's not the same color as the white. The white denotes unclaimed territory.

I would choose an Eastern European country or the rest of Iberia or even North Africa.

I sell it and i get it back. then i sell it again. That is MAX army. My usaul army is 40,000. If i need to defend my self that is the Max army i can go up to.

Well, on my end, Mark Vilhelm II, Emperor of the Baltic Empire, High King of Bothnia and Finland, prepares to marry Princess Margaret of the Holy Kingdom of Scotland. Meanwhile both Scotland and the Baltic Empire have promised around 6,700 troops to be sent in the aid of the Republic of Genoa against Romans who covet the lands of the Genoans. As for the rest of the world, not entirely sure.

Several things:

- The Pope called on all Christian nations to enforce Catholicism and force conversions back to the church (and away from Orthodox, Eastern, Calvinist, Lutheran, etc thinking), by any means necessary.

- To your South, the Emirate of Grenada is about to be invaded by larger Castile-Portugal to your west.

- Morocco is intending to expand eastward.

- Rome has threatened to invade Genoa, citing dreams for a unified Italy, several countries are preparing to assist Genoa in defense and plans (which Genoa is NOT apart of, at least at this time) are being made for the possible invasion of Rome (Rome invaded the Papal States and many hope to earn the Pope's favor).

- The massive Greek Empire (which is Greek Orthodox and heretical by Catholic standards) has apparently called for a Crusade to stabilize its hold on Jerusalem (the pope has yet to respond and most of Europe seems content to ignore him)
