"Emperor Claude, sir! San Marino has requested that we send them a nuclear weapon. They claim that they will use it as a deterrent, to stop an Italian invasion. Should we send them one?"

Inside No. 10 Downing Street, Ed Milliband sat at his writing desk in his office, working on penning a very rough draft of bill to decrease taxes on roadways in Scotland. He could have told one of his party members to do it, but he figured it would go over more smoothly if he had something to work with. He had just finished a clause covering private roadways when a soft knock sounded at his door.
Turning in his chair, he shouted, "Come in, please." He stood up and pulled over a chair to a table, in case whoever it was wanted to sit down.

The door opened slowly, and his Foreign Affairs minister walked in. He looked pale.

"Mr. Hague, what is troubling you?" asked Ed.
The minister placed a piece of paper on Ed's desk.
"The European Union is experiencing... troubles. There is much, erm, political strife. The tensions are rising amongst the old rivals. I'm afraid if the situation continues to worsen, war may break out, my particular guess being over one of the standard flashpoints of European politics, such as Kosovo or Gdansk."
The Prime Minister leaned back in his chair. "What would you have me do, Mr. Hague?"

William Hague celebrated a success in his mind for getting the Prime Minister to ask him that, and calmly pointed to the piece of paper on the desk.
"This is a list of countries in flashpoint zones which you may want to reaffirm our relations with. We need to know which side we are on if a war gets going"
"Thank you, Mr. Hague."
As the minister left, Ed sat back down, pushing his drafts aside. He had letters to write.

Immediately, he was blasted with a plethora of news reports on how the relative stability of Europe had devolved into chaos as the EU dissolved and nations began forming alliances with each other. He sprang to his feet. He screamed, "Prepare the defenses! Prepare the defenses! We aren't taking any chances!" as he scrambled down the hall. Turrets were built on each of San Marino's mountaintops as the tiny nation prepared for the worst.

The president then turned on his radio ant uttered these infamous words: "Come in, come in. Is there anyone left out there? Anyone to help us? Anyone at all?"

To his bewilderment, there was a reply. "Hello, San Marino! This is France here. What do you need? Food, supplies? Shall we be allies?"

The president responded, "Yes! We need some kind of deterrent of attack. I have heart that your pluton rockets are the best in Europe. Also, we would love to be your allies. Can you help us out with something? Were are only a small nation, and Italy will soon be trying to invade us. Can you help us conquer enough of Italy so that we will be of a respectable size so that we can feed our own people?"

The Russian president was infuriated and ordered the Black Sea fleet out of Sevastopol and Russian army troops were shipped to the Russian-Ukraine border, the annexation of Georgia was ordered as small Russian force slammed into the countries defenses meeting heavier then expected resistance from the Georgian army but within days there was a small breach in there lines allowing troops to spearhead from behind destroying fortifications and opening the front the majority of their army was broken now was only a matter of time before the conquest of the small country was complete

The British Royal Armed Forces have announced that all British forces in Afgahnistan will be leaving immediately, with a total of 9,500 men returning home. All British troops in foreign training and peacekeeping operations will be pulling out within the next six months, with a total of 34,530 men returning to the British Isles.

A force is assembled in Belfast, supposedly to be sent to Cyprus later this year. The force, under the name, "Cypriot Expiditionary Force" will be at 32,000 troops, with two armoured divisions and an attached artillery brigade included, in around two weeks.

Angered over the UK's nose being put where it didn't belong, a naval blockade of Cyprus was enacted, while an entire fighter squadron was put on high alert to deal with the British if they so dared bring armed troops to their sphere of influence. A feeling of outrage and shock was felt throughout the nation as the Prime Minister released details of forces being scrambled in Britain to contain Cyprus from the Turkish. It would be the same to the British if they had landed in Scotland and claimed it from the wicked British. Meanwhile, the government of Turkey was largely unconcerned. Any real invasion of Cyprus would be long for the British and their supply lines would be longer, while Cyprus for the Turks was but a mild step away.

Meanwhile in Kosovo, the president of the country declares the army to defend the country at all cost. "Europe is now a complete mess now, Serbia might decide to invade us and take over our young country!" Kosovo's president says in a public speech in the capital city of Kosovo, Pristina. Soon then all men and women in the Kosovo military immediately remain on guard along the borders of Kosovo-Serbia keeping a lookout for Serbian invaders attempting to try and conquer Kosovo once again. Armed and ready the Kosovo military will put up a good fight if any attack happens from the Serbian Army.

While the Kosovo military are now in watchdog mode and guard duty across the nation, the president of Kosovo also then decides to makes a international communication to the country of the United Kingdom. "I would like to ally with you in this total crisis were in right now, we should stick together along with other nations if we want to make it out of this crisis..." says Kosovo's president, saying to the British government officials on the phone. Kosovo isn't going to make it out of this crisis alone, Kosovo going to get out of with help from many other nations.

Replying to the Kosovan call, the British Minister on the other end creates the following speech ad-hoc.

"My Kosovan bretheren, if the forces of tyranny dare threaten your nation, then they will have the United Kingdom and it's Commonwealth to deal with. If the Serbians invade Kosovo, the Britons will not hesitate to shed their blood to defend your home and lives. If help is what you want, then full commitment and aid is what you will recieve."

The Taoiseach called a private meeting with some of the lead ministers of the Dáil. The situation in Europe was getting worse, and as much as the Irish liked to think it, they weren't exactly capable of holding off a threat. Gathered in the dimmed office were four ministers, the military chief-of-staff and a handful of political advisers.

"Our latest reports from Europe aren't great, Taoiseach. France has ordered the surrender of Luxembourg. They have gifted two nuclear weapons to ... San Marino."

The Taoiseach let out a hearty laugh. That quickly stopped when no one else in the room done the same.

"San Marino? You can't be serious."

"I'm afraid so. Also on the list is Russia. It seems they have re-launched ..."

The briefing continued for a few hours, discussing in detail the actions and re-actions of each European sovereignty. One thing became imminently clear - Ireland had to take a stance. After discussion on which would be the best policy to pursue, Taoiseach Enda Kenny began dishing out the response orders.

The recruitment quota was lifted for the military, and enlistment in the Reserve force was highly encouraged. The Defense Forces were placed on high alert and full mobility was enacted. Troops could be anywhere in the country at a moments notice. An influx of ex-IRA men flooded the recruitment stations around the country. They may have been rowdy and trained with foreign weaponry - but they were experienced.

Things in Europe for President Kurt von Schmidt is not going well at all. San Marino now having 2 nuclear weapons bought from other countries, tensions over the Cyprus dispute between Turkey and Britain, and pretty much countries wanting to annex other countries. Although there are suspicions that Britain is actually trying to invade Ireland due to the Northern Ireland dispute. To counter all this threat all across Europe, even though all of them are far from Austria, the country must respond aggressively defensive. The President now orders the dissolution of the Parliament, to gain more superiority over the country. Even the Ministry of Defense is now overpowered by the President. Presidential elections are now banned in Austria, and conscription is enforced. And with all that, Austria is now a dictatorship. In first steps of expansion, the San Marinoans is already suspicious enough to tell that they are possibly going to invade Italy with nuclear weapons. However, seeing that Italy also has nuclear weapons from it's share as a former NATO member, if San Marino attacks, they won't be attacking alone. Now, 200 thousand out of 500 thousand troops gather around the Austro-Italian border, and is concentrated along South Tyrol. Austria will not intervene in Italy if South Tyrol is given back to Austria, but for now, SOuth Tyrol must be returned one way or another. Meanwhile, 10 thousand troops also gather around Liechtenstein, and an ultimatum is given to the country to surrender to Austria in 24 hours, or they will face an invasion from Austria.

The Commander in charge of the Cyprus Expeditionary force in Ireland recieves a new set of highly classified orders from the High Command.
Immediately, the Expeditionary force marches and drives across the Irish border, prepping to take down any resistance. The plan is simple. 8,000 men march towards the western part of the countyr, whilst the Armoured Divisions, artillery, and the other 3,000 infantry are to march to Dublin and force the Irish to capitulate.

A new force is assembling here to meet an apparent threat from the French. 79,950 men were marshalling, under the following organizational structure:

3 infantry divisions
-2 attached artillery battalions
-one attached reserve division
-1 attached Armoured Battalion
2 armoured divisions

-3 attached infantry companies

This force was ready to defend Belgium from a French attack the moment help was called for. It would take three days for the Royal Navy to carry that force to Flanders and for the force to situate itself to defend, but once it had gotten set, it would be a powerfully entrenched fighting force.

Yet another force was being commited. A total of 38,750 men, under the following command:

-two attached motorised companies

1 Armoured Brigade

This force would be sent to Kosovo, to affirm our alliance with this nation. It will be transported via the Navy to Gibraltar and from Gibraltar, it will be sent to our military base on Malta, where it will be flown in gradually over the course of around three weeks.
