Most of SA is owned by the SAA, so no problem there.

They took 150 casualties before getting to the fleet from your air force.

They did not fight the JAF. The JAF suffered not a single casualty during the entire encounter.

Once they were there, one plane is enough to take out one ship with a well placed torpedo, which was achieved by getting so close at high speeds that it was possible to aim the torpedo like a missile. Normally they'd need to slow down to pull up, but they did not do this, and all died.

Many were shot down, but 500 planes is enough to decimate a fleet. Less than half is not bad.
