New Aksarben wrote:"Thanks for the compliment, mei Vulpes!" Albert said, giving Ray a kiss as a thanks. "Your fur is more comfortable though, because I could use you as a blanket and still be comfortable." He then heard the doorbell, and sat up a bit. "Hmm..... I wonder who that might be?"

"...I don't quite know...", Ray mumbled and fumbled back into a sleeping position. While the doorbell had rung, it didn't seem that anyone was there.

"Should we go check it out? I'm not sure if there is anyone else here in the apartment right now." Albert said, cuddling back up with Ray, and sighing contentedly.

Blossom skipped over to the door to answer it. She wondered who it could be.

Tieria was in chaos, drinking his usual red wine. Number 6 and not even tipsy. He was distressed, he could not locate Veda anywhere and Beside Pain had the nerve to get close to Kei. He was upset that everyone seemed to be underestimating the threat the Innovaters posed.

"I accept then, rent is all I'd like, and of course whatever is bought from the company." Bran smiled and bowed respectfully to the ministers. "If you like, we could schedule a meeting or a tour of our factory." He said and seated himself again.

When Blossom opened the door, there was no one there. However, there was a brown cardboard box wrapped in tape and and addressed to the apartment under Ray's name, as well as a letter and a stamp reading "D.U. GOV. APPROVED."

"It sounds like someone opened the door," Ray mumbled from under the covers.

Swith Witherward wrote:"Mr. Banks, would this negate any current contracts?" Minerva asked. "I'd assume this offer is made to each of us as individuals, ours to take or ignore as we wish? If so, what of those who decide the offer won't work for them?"

"No, Captain Blackwater. Prior contracts still stand," Banks replied.

Hemsig smiled at Bran. "We'll discuss a tour later. I'll notify you once my schedule is a bit less frantic."

Torii scoffed. Katya cleared her throat. "Well, this could be just the chance I need to make an impression, and for my nation to do so as well. You see, we propose an establishment of a military-funded Urban Security Force, we can fund it ourselves. They are robotic...part of a new idea by some of our scientists. While hard to produce, and very expensive, they can be expected to be better than any human forces we can provide. We could even give some to Nikanor, or the police force, to test them."

Torii grumbled. "What I wanted to suggest is giving the Confederacy greater influence. Allows more troops, and we can protect the city, at least in the countryside."

She picked up the package and shrugged. She set it on a table and got back to her cooking. She was a busy girl. But she was also hungry, she would need to go hunting later.

"...Wait, who could have opened the door?", Ray's mind suddenly woke up. He nestled out of Albert's arms and out of the bed, putting on the g-string he had worn and a brown shirt that he found in his clothes cabinet, and then opened the door of their room and peaked his head out.

Blossom was still humming, dressed in her maid outfit and cooking the stew. Her sapphire eyes seemed to glow, piercing, yet gentle. Despite what she was, she was harmless, but she couldn't expect Ray to know that.

Sigtrygg looked at the men, who he was thinking were Stadthalters or an equivalent, and asked, "Waat heelp koouuld I bee? I haawe naat beeen heerre weerrii laang, aend haawe naat foouught, oorr eeween seeen, aenii aaf dee diings yoou meentiiooned." He wasn't sure how much of a help he could possibly be, especially since he didn't understand how anything worked in this world.

Jacob cleared his throat, then said, "Well, I can accept on behalf of the people of Aksarben, especially those who are now living within your nation, but I am not sure how much help we could be. Despite having more advanced weapons, we also don't have the manpower to do anything, and I myself am not a fighter..... But I could ask Octavian, who is the heir of my nation, if he could come and talk to you some time. He has been meaning to ask you about something important, but I am not quite sure what he wants." Getting back on track, Jacob said, "Anyway, I am not sure what I myself could do to help. I do not have any powers, despite being the personification of my nation....."

"Oh, I think that is Blossom." Albert responded, putting some shorts on. "She's the other person who lives here, and the reason that everything is so clean all the time."

Cerillium wrote:Mr. Banks first addressed Torii. "Little girl, you're in no position to make demands." His voice then softened as he spoke to Katya, "But suggestions are always welcomed."

Mr. Hemsig held up his hand to stop Banks from speaking. "Mr. Nikanor, we're already looking into purchasing some of your non-lethal weapons. The Ministry of Defense hasn't forgotten the assistance your nation offered in the past - albeit without our permission - and we'd certainly grateful for it. Mortals make up this city. You're the sort of mortal who doesn't blanch when faced with a supernatural foe."

"What we propose is that the city cover your rental fees in the building," Banks continued. "That's to start. We'd also like you all to consider forming yourselves into a task force of sorts. A sleeper cell, if you will, that we activate once we have confirmation that something wicked is afoot. You all have different skills. Some of you hunt vampires. Others kill gods. Others heal and restore. Some are simply fighters with strong hearts. Protection is more than fists and guns."

The Minister of Finance cleared his throat. "We'll leave it up to you to determine what sort of groups you want to set up and how you want them to be put together. We'll be able to discuss fees once we know what you can offer us."

"Also," Banks interrupted, "We're trying to cut down on ludicrous and malicious activities. Frankly, our citizens and the city government has lodged one too many complaints over werejesu, vampires, daemons and demons, angels flapping about the sky, dinosaurs eating people in the morgue, terrorists from other nations coming in to harass. The list is endless. We'd like to rely upon you to police your own kind or the kind you associate with. This is your city, ladies and gentlemen. This is the nation that welcomes you with open arms and doesn't turn you aside, experiment on you, lock you away or prevent you from existing in peace and liberty."

He trained a steady eye on Ozzall. "What we're offering is not an invitation to leave your current government or betray your alliances. We're giving you all a license to operate as a militia - within reason - for the purpose of keeping our city safe from those who would crush it for their own gains."

Volturius audibly bemoaned the Minister's response of 'cutting down on malicious activities' comment. Not only was he a Chaos-tainted Space Marine and thus had a lust for death and torture, Slaanesh gifted him with senses that drove him to do so out of happiness. While some believed hounds could sense fear and even hunt it- Volturius literally could feel the sense and hungrily feasted upon when reaping his count of souls. Even while he could control his cravings, they still remained and were only sated with the death of sentients.

"Can we at least hunt convicts? Not only would it be carrying the legacy of my Legion for my hunts, but improve upon the life of the city with a virtually complete reduction in crime? Surely there must be some acceptable way to reap sentients outside of rare combat."

"Mr. Nikanor is right in that regard," Banks stated to Katya. "We are not brokering with governments or agencies with this offer. Were that the case, Captain Blackwater wouldn't have inquired about existing contracts. Your nation isn't capable of producing robots that defeat the Drones. We already have access to and already employ technology that can. We don't pay for any of it. We aren't here asking for help from any nation. We're approaching you as individual people who happen to reside in our nation."

Hemsig leaned forward. "Let me be crystal clear. No. No more soldiers on our soil without proper documentation and visas."

"And," Banks continued, "Chaos can handle its own affairs and needs." There was a bit of animosity in his voice and his eyes narrowed as they focused on the two cultist leaders.

The rest of the house was vastly different in style, it was a blend of Gothic Victorian architecture. The hall Yuri was in went two ways, to the left was the Animal Pens and to the right was the Main Lab. Nurse-bot slowly turned around to pursue her. "Please calm down. I am your friend." it said as it tried to jab Yuri with the syringe.

The sisters both sighed. "Well.....fine.", Katya said. "But..."

"But", Torii started, "We're going to be protecting people....who are not ours. On top of that, we have none of the equipment or powers of the others, so we can at least agree that compensation in the pay department can be made?"

She threw it like a throwing star to him. It stuck in the wall near him. "Must be important, it mentions the government"

A long pink straw began lowering itself toward the bowl of soup. It seemed to come from over Yoshi's head and directly behind him.
