No, strong ally, just to those who suit my interests. Sweden has the potential to become a major commercial threat. Meanwhile Russia does not possess that potential. Well it does but it couldn't really surpass me Commercially.

And? That has nothing to do with the Great Northern War and is irrelevant as it may never happen.

So, good logic, and good luck.

Who said I'm committing troops? Fighting isn't the only way to win a war. I'm more funding and training Russia's Armies to fight you.

Wait...
You think Sweden will become more of a commercial threat than Russia?
I don't know how to argue against that, so okay...

Japan, want to beat up Russia early?

Oh, and this is all assuming that Russia is ACTUALLY going to fight.

I like Austria-Hungary too, but unless you know your monarchist stuff the Habsburg realm is a freakin' complicated union of states. It's a shame that Serbian barbarian had to shoot the guy who wanted to federalise Austria-Hungary.

Oh? And you think my logic of allying with Russia is bad? And tell me, why should I ally with you? Russia is a strong and growing power, a good ally in the East that suits Spanish Interests, is an excellent trading partner, and can be a worthy ally that I can call friend for a long time.

Russia is a strong power, but so am I. It isn't growing a great deal; except for the Kazakh lands, pretty useless and a couple other little snowy lumps, there is nowhere for it to expand, and many enemies to expand into its vast lands. But let's be honest, this applies to virtually every major nation. I'm not quite sure what your interests are and how you know it won't violate them, but I can't possibly violate them unless they are particularly odd and convoluted as all I intend to do is control Finnoscandinavia and the lands around the Baltic. They're terrible at trade; they have a lot of fur and a decent amount of metal, plus some grain, but the grain is all consumed, furs can be gotten lots of other places and both the fur and grain are very hard to exploit. And I'm not sure how a person can fulfill the "worthy ally" and "friend for a long time" seeing as they are directly stemmed from the other arguments.

:palm: Read above. Russia has no lands in the Americas and I'm not interested in Alaska anyways. If they want it they can have it. I'm not the one who has my eye on it.

Bottom line Allen is that my interests and current plan, which are not convoluted or absurd, involve Russia. There is not way you could fit into them. You don't serve my interests and I don't really trust you to be honest so yeah. Russia is my best option in the East. Oh and with a little work, Russia could become a lot more than an agrarian backwater. And I can put that work in Thank You.

Yes. Sometimes my tone can get a little bit mean. However my point is is that until Sweden can prove it can stand up to Russia and beat it in a war Russia will be my eastern ally. However I just realized that I need Russia to actually accept first so this argument has been in vain until then :meh:  :palm: :palm: :palm: :palm: :palm:

I'd rather have a guy who is direct to the point at saying something IE: "YOU ARE AN IDIOT!" Than some guy who goes circles trying to say something.
