wait they're a Pact member? This is where my web of alliances means that I technically can't go against any nation. I won't be going on the offensive against the Russians but if they attack my allies then they might as well attack me. Unless they don't attack where my armies are that is.

I thought beheading people and their families was like a great past time for the French Revolutionaries?

If we really want to get technical, the French Revolution shouldn't have happened. It was inspired by the massive debts of the government, which were mostly incurred helping the Americans fight for Independence.
AH, PMT, some FT.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

I agree completely with the French Revolution part think I brought that up before but what I mean by the French Revolutionaries beheading people as a pass time sport is because I'm not into the whole beheading people and Charlemagne is one of those that would rather hang someone or just have them shot instead of the whole lets behead people in the street type justice presuming that's what the French Rebels are into.

Actually since UT is attacking a nonmember of the pact who you are deciding to back up your the one violating the Pact. Your the one that will be declaring war on UT for invading the Khanate. Might be wrong but that's how I'm seeing it.

"Article IV. If one member state goes to war against a non-member, the other nations will not be required to go to war with the non-member. The member state in conflict may bring up a proposal for the other member states to provide aid or for the whole alliance to go to war. Offers must be made to other member states in what they will receive for fighting."

Then you have "Article V. If a member state goes to war against another member, the other nations will be required to go to war with the aggressor, if Article VI is not applicable in this case. In the event of the aggressor's defeat, it may receive one or multiple punishments that shall be voted upon by the defenders:"

Russia has not went to war with a member of the Pact as stated above he is invading a nonmember who you have decided to back up so pretty much you are the one declaring war against Russia so in the eyes of the Pact your the aggressor in that situation.

ah, but I am defending the land that UT is invading, thus I am the defender and he is the attacker, as I am providing the aid to the Khaganate I am not invading them. Also I can use the old 'He fired first' meaning that if UT attacks my troops (and thus me) he is the attacker.

Russia did not declare war against you or is he invading land directly under your control? You decided to aid the Khaganate so it could be called you are trying to back stab another Pact Member. I think that entire article means lets say if Russia directly invaded or attacked you he is a aggressor but since you involved yourself in a conflict to side against a Pact Member that totally changes the way its gonna be handled.

I think I need to change the wording in my letter to the Russians, I've just realized I made a mistake in it.

I'm basically going to go for a passive defence, wherever I place my troops he can't attack without declaring war on me (so long as I don't declare it on him) without invoking article V

I can't get involved in any possible war with or against Russia anyways at the moment even if I could I'm not into the whole let's invade Russia since history stands "General Winter" does not loose wars. If I was in the condition and in a good situation I would rather side with Russia then against.

I don't want to invade Russia (I'm not that stupid, I know my desert army wouldn't stand a chance in Russian Winter) I merely wish for them to stop their invasion on the Khaganate.
