Well, even India had to be split into three competing regions (see map) to keep it from being too strong. Personally I'd like to see someone RP as part of China, as they're a key power in the overall balance of things.

But right now, I think the OP's concerned that there are more than enough players. You can always take over for an inactive player, though - Rome hasn't posted in ages, and I'm not sure
about Japan.

Leo, this is the new reduced territory of Musoma. Basically I've gotten rid of that massive blob of land, only retaining my expansion towards Prussia's colony. I've also retained my South American colony as it is essentially no more than a glorified outpost.

Looks better to me. I think there was an earlier OOC discussion that agreed inland colonization in Africa would take a very long time due to malaria, hostile tribes, scarce water, etc.

Shit, just realised I've mseed up Tripoli for Benghazi in terms of geography. I'm sorry, but can you edit that to Benghazi, the whole province, and I'll edit the post. As for Uskuudar, it's just the whole province. No need for the dot.

Yes. I'm thinking I should have just said that the large territory I had is what I started with. Although that probably would have been shot down. Now that the dramatic expansion didn't happen, I have far more resources for the completion of my modernization and industrialization.

Plus I can designate those territories I just removed as my 'sphere of influence' and anyone who tries to attack the peoples of that region will be vanquished by Musomian steel.

Well that probably won't happen, seeing as pretty much everyone in Africa is my ally.

Just save the expansion for later - it's more fun to draw it out over a few RL days/weeks than to take over as much land as you can in one post.

Well, he IS an African native, correct? I'd think they'd be adapted to the environment enough that they could conquer inland.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

Nation Name: The Empire of Japan
National Flag: regular Japanese Flag
Claims:Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Sakhalin
Form of Government:
Head of State: Emperor Kokakku
Capital City: Kyoto
Population: 52 million
Military Size: 1 million
Military Type: 300,000 Samurai (Professional warriors and military officers). 700,000 ashigaru. All armed with muskets, ashigaru have spears, samurai have swords. The samurai make up the core of the military but many more musket ashigaru may be conscripted and trained quickly. Each province is required to supply a certain amount of men to be trained for the Imperial Army.
Naval Strength: Quite strong, modernized in the last 50 years. Made up of armored and cannoned capital bune ship (floating fortresses), and European styled frigates/corvettes.
Economic Strength: Wealthy, even more so as more territory and resources are added to the empire. Rich in natural resources and artisan goods, the seeds of industrialization have bee planted in the imperial court.
Land Routes: Very well, imperial roads are all standardized, more being build in Manchuria and Northern regions.
Sea Routes Japan owns the region seas with the weakening of the Chinese emperors.
Primary Goals: To capture China, colonize the New World, Industrialize/Modernize, open up more trade routes.
History: The Tokugawa Shogunate held power for about 60 years but corruption and betrayal led to Royal loyalists who carried out a military coup on the Shogunate on orders from the Emperor. Civil war embroiled the nation for 20 years but the Emperor won. He and his son then focused their attention upon sending troublesome and powerful clans to capture land on the mainland. Korea and Manchuria soon fell to the intense competition between the Oda, Mori, and Shimano clans.

I wonder if we used this RP as canon we could make a RP set in the future, except with this World. The only thing is modern technology, but the Age of Imperialism never ended,(or maybe the colonies are just beginning to gain independence in swarms.)

Does that sound appealing to anyone?

Sure I hate myself for it, but fuck it, we invited this. It's sad, but at some point you just stop caring. People can scream and cry but nothing will ever get done about it. When was it last that a shooting incident like this (or any other) actually made people legitimately search for answers or try a new approach? None that I can think of, It's been the same people, shouting the same expletives with the same people dying.

I hear they have good internet over in Scandinavia.
