Mine's more exploration, diplomatic relations with fellow Austronesian people and nation/tribe integration, with some evangelism along the way. Still, colonization is colonization either way.

In my Victoria II game, now that was fun. Philippines, controller of the northern third quarter of Borneo, one of the most prestigious nations on the planet, everyone has a job, a H.M. government, host of a number of World Fairs, host of the Second, Sixth, and Ninth Olympic Games, and the first country to reach the South Pole. Fourth Great Power in the end, mostly by prestige. If only that actually happened in real life.
