Part 1-The Last City

Image

Tower, Last City, Earth

*Knock knock*
James woke with a start as he lifted his head off his desk, nearly jumping. He heard it again.
*Knock knock*
He stood up and walked to the door. He pulled back the lever, pulling open the door at the same time. Outside stood a fellow Hunter, whose name he did not know.
"We're having a meeting upstairs. Be there by 08:45. It's important."
With that the Guardian walked away, knocking on the next door down the hall.
James quickly began tidying his desk. He vaguely remembers researching the Golden Age of Humanity the night before, wanting to know what life was like before the Collapse, and how he wanted it to be in the future. With the tidying finished he holstered his Duke Mk. 44 and exited his room, heading towards the elevator.

Tower, Last City, Earth

Alex was standing in the bathroom shaving in the mirror, wearing armor from the waist up. When he heard a knock at the door. Alex finished shaving, and walked over to the door, and answered it. There was another guardian. "There's a meeting upstairs at 8:45. You don't want to miss it." He said. "Okay thanks for the heads up." Alex said before closing the door, and putting on the rest of his Titan armor. Alex takes his 44 from the table before twirling it, and placing it in his holster on his hip. Soon Alex strode out of his room, and jogged to the elevator.

Tower, last city

Juan was reading a book on the couch the book was garbage and Juan didn't know why he was reading it. He was wearing full armor except for the helmet which he didn't bother to put one right one. His reading was interrupted by a knock on the door. Juan layer down the book and opened the door. Out there stood another guardian who said " there is a meeting up there 8:45 you should not miss it." Juan sighed and replied " Thank you for that notification. I guess I need to get moving." Juan putted on his helmet and took and placed his duke In it's holster and exited the room walking casually towards the elevator.

The elevator began rising with a lurch after James hit the button labeled "meeting room". To his surprise, when he arrived there the room was packed, and behind a podium was none other than Percival Darcia, the leader of the Guardians.
"If everyone could please be quiet now?" his voice resounded through the speakers throughout the room. "The meeting will begin when all the Guardians arrive. Thank you."

Alex quietly walked into the meeting room, and took his seat. He wondered what the meeting was about but it was probably important since they don't call this many guardians here for nothing.

As Juan took a seat he was thinking why everyone was here and what had happened that could have caused such a large meeting. Juan just hooped it wouldn't be to large or dangerous for the guardians to handle.

Phil departed his room quietly. He rarely left his room for anything other than Guardian business these days. None of the other Guardians had been able to give him any pointers on his Father's whereabouts. All he could get was that he left several months ago on a "scouting" mission. He couldn't get anything else out of the other Guardians. He stepped into the meeting room, sitting down silently at the back.

Raven walked out of her room planning on spying on the others. Instead, someone came around and told her she had to attend a meeting. "Of course I do." She entered the room grinning. "Hey boys, what's up?" she said to the other newer people. She sat down at one of the ends of the table.

Juan toke a look at here and said "Realmente no me importa." he then looked towards the podium where Percival Darcia was going to talk.

"My fellow Guardians," Percival began "In this time of darkness and despair, there is hope for humanity yet. These aliens who have attacked us, conquered our homeworld, we have learned more about them. They are the Fallen, and they are a weak species. I'm surprised they managed to conquer Earth in the first place. We can, and we will, throw them off our homeworld. In three days time, we will begin the reclaimation of our Earth in Old Russia. Be back here at this time in three days, and we will propel humankind once again." He stepped down.

---------------------------------------

James stood up from his seat and walked out of the room.
"Russia, eh?" He said to himself as he walked into an elevator. "Looks like all the reading wasn't for nothing."

Yuri barely made it to the meeting. Full armor on, he stood in a corner by himself. His Jet Black Duke.44 on his hip. "About time." he told himself. Many of the Guardians began to talk. He stood there and looked as strict as he could. "Only time will tell."

Last City

Nataniel entered the meeting room, where the other guardians stood. He looked behind him, towards the Traveler. He thought silently to himself of the mysteries that the hanging orb held. It had given him control over unknown magics. He looked back to the man on the pedestal, scratching his chin. His helmet in his off hand. Naturally, it was a Guardian's job to protect the Lost City, however Nataniel had yet to leave the City, not in the longest time. He silently nodded to himself, as he stepped out of the room, and into the hall.

He moved slowly into an elevator, looking to the other Guardians within it. He smiled to them, "Russia was the last place I'd choose for a vacation, yeah?"
