"For a guy who just got shot you seem awfully friendly." Kylia let out a tired sigh, "Yeah, I don't really have many other places to go, thanks." The man seemed oddly suspicious, but something about him calmed Kylia, his voice seemed truthful, something she hadn't heard in a long time. Putting the fact that he was shot into play, she offered him her hand to get him on his feet, "Come on, looks like I'm in better shape than you are."

"It has been many years since I first had the pleasure of assuming control of this place, no?" a deep voice spoke. It was commanding and in some cases, intimidating to listeners, and it carried the wisdom of God to some. Without seeing this man's face, one could easily identify him as a person of incredible power, and responsibility enough to govern the hundreds into the millions. It was a voice that just sounded regal and of leadership, and the man it belonged to fit all of these qualities as a ruler. The man was the emperor of the Grand English Empire, on his way to oversee the operations in London for a short time.

His helicopter cut through the skies quietly, as was the emperor's preference. No need for all of the noise of typical choppers. It made it easier to think, and to converse with his advisors, members of his parliament, whoever happened to be aboard the luxurious helicopter as he made his journeys across the isles. He was just now leaving Dublin, Ireland. He'd been there to give a speech to his new subjects, to ensure their well being. It seemed like the speech had gone well enough, considering that Ireland was a new territory, unaccustomed to the empire's rule. The statements made there were sure to win over the people at least somewhat, it was well known, the emperor's orating skill and the respect he commanded of even those that would despise him.

"Indeed, it has been." another man answered, one of the highest members of the GEE's parliament, Peter Marsh. "You have done a job above any other who may have taken the post."

"There is a difference between respect and boot licking, Peter, but I appreciate the sentiment." the emperor replied with a slow nod. "These people in London, they are living under extreme poverty and are making due with their lives. Admirable people. I am surprised that the government has been able to maintain order for as long as they have. Our eventual expansion to include them within our jurisdiction will do them much good. I trust that they are aware of this by now. I hope that, in my presence and in my statements to their parliament, it will be the final swaying motion of their approval. If they are too headstrong to realize our rule is best then we will take the city by force."

The emperor stopped here, nodding. "I have faith that they will have wisdom enough to admit that they are not what is best for London." he said firmly.

"I am sure they will my lord. If not, then the casualties are expected to be minimal." Marsh reassured the emperor, the man shaking his head.

"Minimal casualties. Good. We can hope to ensure zero casualties at this point. My presence here, they say it will show I trust these people, entering a war zone under their protection is the ultimate sign of trust, indeed." the emperor said. Peter fell silent here, nodding in agreement.

The emperor too fell silent, turning his wise, blue orbs back out the window, running a hand through the well groomed white hair atop his head.

Lancearc wrote:Cymitia glanced about the room as the sack was removed from her head, the sudden bright light hurting her eyes somewhat, being Nevidian. The only other person in the room that she could spot was the man whom she'd knocked to the floor not so long ago, and she'd forgotten has name by then. She only smirked inwardly to herself, already preparing an arsenal of smart comments, though she remained silent for the time being.

Zachary stared at her with cold, hardened eyes. If she looked into his eyes hard enough, she could probably see the many nevidian souls he has killed and horribly experimented on. Zach smiled as he grabs a whip. He chuckles sadistically.
"Normally, I just bring you to a pit - bang - and then be over with it. You, you are going to experience what few of your Nevidian friends have ever experienced...", he said in that same sadistic tone. He then turned on another light in the room, which revealed a hospital-style bed, and a man laying in it who was being barely kept in a coma by nothing but morphine and an oxygen pusher, forcing the man to receive oxygen. Suddenly, Cymitia could see the man's face...Jakov.

(OOC: Jakov "died". He is vegetable right now. Only thing keeping him alive is the machine he's plugged into. He's going to make Cymitia watch him suffer in pain as he slowly coughs to death, and if he stops coughing and is still alive, Zach is going to shoot Jakov himself. I AM AN EBIL BAZTURD.)

They walked through the streets as the lights flickered, "have you lived in London your whole life" Leo asked gazing up at the stars. The night was beautiful, it was clear and the stars glimmered like little lights in the universe. Leo honestly thought a new race would be coming from up their not under there feet as the Nevidians did.

Cymitia gasped slightly when she spotted Jakov, in the horrible state that he was in. She didn't know at that point whether ot not it would have been better for him to have been killed earlier or not, as it didn't seem that his condition was able to be survived, not now. Her gaze didn't linger on him though, she returned it to the HGV man in short order. "You are a very tough and formidable foe, taking prisoner a dying man and the woman who knocked you on your ass, forcing you to send your men to finish the job."

While it was indeed a beautiful night, one would also notice that it was past curfew in the HGV controlled portion of the city. Having been called upon to rush to the aid of the fight in the camp, although the conflict was now over, an HGV platoon of 12 men happened to take notice of these two strolling through the streets. "You there!" the man leading the soldiers shouted, pointing in the direction of the two. "You are aware that you are to be in your homes!" the man continued, he and his soldiers stepping forward and stopping just shy of them. "Do you have permission to be out of your homes, where are your papers stating so?"

Zachary laughed. He looked at her. His gaze was sitll frozen with that cold evil stare.
"Oh, no worries. Pretty soon dying will be in the past tense...", he said sadistically. Dying was future tense, the past tense was dead.
He crossed his arms and chuckled, slightly musing himself.
"And, even less worries for you, after I make you watch what's left of his conscious suffer, I am going to make you die a slow, painful, horrible death.", The man said in his usual sadistic voice, this time his chuckle nearly sounding as if the devil himself had taken over for part of the laugh.

"We shall see." was all that Cymitia said in response. Although the fear was there, as many people knew, the Nevidians were not ones to let their own emotions control their outward actions.

"Miss Collins, he should be fine, you got him here in the nick of time."

The conversation would be a normal report on Connor's situation if the doctor was not speaking to Anna while the sound of gunfire was erupting on the first floor of the hospital. Connor had been taken to the tenth floor and to an operating room, he now being unconscious and operated on. "I would advise that we begin treating your wounds quickly, we don't have much time until they reach our floor if your escorts don't hold the line." the doctor said quickly, indicating Anna's bullet wounds. "I'm sure he advised the same thing, we can get to work immediately if you wish." the man continued.

"Yes...do whatever needs to be done." Anna said, distracted by the gunfire. She hoped that the rebels would hold the HGV down for enough time for Connor and her to get patched up. Anna didn't like hospitals or doctors, she also had a horrible phobia of needles and a mild one of sharp objects. All she wanted was for the procedure to end quickly and she and Connor could escape.

Zach looked into her eyes. He simply took off the mask on Jakov. Jakov had began coughing furiously, blood splattering on the floor.
Cymitia was positioned to watch the 5 minute long scene, which after it was over, Jakov was dead.
Zach felt his pulse, and then plugged him back into the machine, and restarted his heart, making him alive. He began repeating this process, over and over in front of Cymitia, who was helpless to save Jakov.

With what little time they had, the doctors couldn't take the time to perform full blown operations on her much less serious wounds. Instead, they used a more primitive type of field medicine common amongst medics in the military, only cleaning the wounds, removing the bullets, and stitching and dressing said wounds in a quick process. It took perhaps ten minutes, maybe less.

"I would suggest you hurry up on the other man doctors, the HGV have reached the third floor." one of the rebels announced loudly.

Kylia walked with the man, not paying much attention to what he was saying. The stars were out, he was right, but she paid no mind to it, any sense of beauty to this world was majorly ones down by the surrounding slums. When the though came to her mind that it was after curfew, it was too late, and she froze at the sound of the HGV patrolmen. "Fuck, this is what happens when you distract yourself," she thought. But without another second, she looked at the man and then the alleyway behind them, and she darted off down the back alley, again wiping blood from her nose as she ran and pulling her pistol from her back to ease her ability to run.

Leo stared at the patrol but didn't mind even with a bum leg he loved the chase. He knew all the little crevices and holes of the slums and decided to follow the girl. As she was too fast for him he took to shortcuts and popped out running next to her, "we can kill them you know" he looked her dead on, "ambush them at the end of the alley and that warm bed can still be yours" he called out far behind once again due to his inability to run fast.

Part of Kylia just made her want to keep running, but the other part of her was dying for a bed to sleep in. She turned and looked back at the man, nodding her head and turning around the corner, stacking up on the wall. She made quick eye contact with the man, but focused on the alleyway. She held the gun nervously, but kept her shaking under control, she was also cold, so her breath was showing around the corner, something she quickly covered up by breathing out of her nose in stead, which had by then stopped breathing.

On the other side of the alley he nodded, what was there to be afraid of he had been through much worse situations then this. He peered down to see the HGV men running his way he gave one more nod of assurance to Kylia. The memory flashed when he had ambushed a group of armed Nevidians looters months back in a blaze of glory he was proclaimed a hero from the human population of the shanty town. He counted "1..2..3.." Leo opened fire on the men who were nearing catching them off guard.

As Leo finished his countdown, Kylia took a deep breath and turned out into the alley way and began firing on the men, one trigger pull at a time. She'd never done anything like it in her life, the first man she'd ever really killed was the man who met her at the apartment just a few moments ago. Yet, something in her brain ticked, like a sort of thrill, or a high. She pulled the trigger several times, shooting one man twice in the chest and another in the neck. She kept shooting as the men charged down the unlit alley, giving a barely noticeable half-a-second glance to Leo.

"I need to get back," Hunter said plainly as they all entered the sewers. The four most important figures of the rebellion had taken off by the time Hunter had come to, the not at the back of his head a pounding ache. He dutifully had ignored the pain, spurred into action to get Cymitia out of that hell hole as soon as possible.

"Son, the whole complex is heavily guarded by now, she's as good as dead. I'm sorry," one of them replied, Hunter didn't even know his name and his words only stoked the rage that was churning within him.

"I don't give a shit what you think, feel or know, I need some weapons and I'm out of here."

"This is ridiculous," the man turned to face Hunter, his glare was one of resignation and annoyance. "You all did a good job, but you knew the risk of doing this and so did she. We can't pull off another OP just to save one person. It wasn't easy doing it the first time and the bloody GEE came in to give us some luck. Be grateful you're alive, boy."

In a blur of speed that even Hunter hadn't registered, he had pinned the man the wall like he did the other guy on the helicopter. "I'm not asking for back up. I'm not asking for an OP, I'm telling you I need weapons. Do whatever the fuck you want, but I'm going back for her and so help me if you or anyone else try to stop me, I'll kill you. Plain and simple."

"You wanna die like her? Be my guest," the guy shoved Hunter back without much success and it took George to pull Hunter back. "There are your weapons," he pointed to the armory, "Go die in a blaze of glory, but you're on your own."

"Is that a good idea sir? He-" One of the others had spoken up.

"Doesn't matter, he won't make it ten feet into that factory. Go on, get shot for some damsel in distress. The rebellion doesn't support a fool's errand."

"I'm going with you," George said after him and Hunter just nodded.

"Absolutely ridiculous," the man hissed with a shake of his head. "I'd say good luck, but what's the point when you're both gonna be just as dead." With that he signaled the rest of the men into the base leaving Hunter and George in the tunnels.

"Let's go, we've gotta get back there as soon as possible," Hunter urged on, not wasting a moment's thought as he strode into the armory and gathered some weapons. The two friends had fallen silent as they chose their armaments.

"I appreciate you coming with me, but you know its not necessary."

"Of course it is!" George exclaimed, "You two mean the world, Hunter, I owe you and Cymitia this much. Now let's get this going. We gotta save your girlfriend," he said with a grin.

Zach had gotten bored of torturing Jakov, and so he pulled Jakov up in front of Cymitia, and made her watch as Zach slowly sliced Jakov's throat.
After Zach was done, he tossed the body aside as if it was a mere toy. He stared into Cymitia's eyes with bloodlust and evil. Zach grabbed her arm and wiped Jakov's blood off the knife onto her skin.

While running from the HGV was the most sensible course of action available to the two vagrants, stopping to fire upon the soldiers was likely far from the smartest thing that they could have done. They managed to kill three of the soldiers, leaving nine to return fire with their L85A2 assault rifles, filling the small alleyway with flying lead, heading in the direction of the two runners. While some of the two scoundrels' rounds hit the HGV men, the smaller rounds were just barely enough to penetrate any body armor worn by the HGV men.

Cymitia lashed out at the HGV man as he cut Jakov's throat--or at least, tried to, being strapped down to the table as she was. The force behind the sudden outburst was surprising for the smaller frame of the woman and she thought for a brief moment she broke the restraints before coming back to reality. When the man wiped Jakov's blood against her pale skin she shivered, but only looked away from him and keeping any reaction other than anger pent up within herself, so as to not let the man have the pleasure of seeing her fearful.

Zachary laughed at her attempts. He knew she was afraid.
"I have done things similar to this - no, WORSE than this - many, many times, my dear. I don't have to see your expressions of fear... I can smell it...", he said sadistically and in a threatening tone, right into her ear. He then slammed his knife hard into the table, nearly stabbing her arm, purposely missing by two inches. He laughed at the fact it would make her jump, as that was a natural reaction for anyone.

As the three men dropped to the ground, Kylia had a look of confidence on her face, but as she saw the other men round the corner, her faced drained of emotion. She quickly turned to take cover from the fire just as it began, but it was too late. A bullet, likely a ricochet, jabbed at her side. Her eyes widened, and she began breathing in shock as she looked down at the wound that had now covered the left side of her sweatshirt in blood. She looked back up at Leo and then back at the wound, not sure what to do.

Upon seeing one of the people that had fled from them fall with a bullet in her side, the HGV combatants did not hesitate. They moved forward towards the apparent criminals, their weapons raised and ready to fire. "DROP THE WEAPONS IMMEDIATELY, SCUM!" the man at the front ordered loudly, his barrel raised to the man still standing. One of the soldiers had his weapon trained on the woman on the ground, ensuring she didn't attempt to try anything sneaky from her position.

As the men enclosed on Kylia and Leo, Kylia caught her breath and shook her head, "I'm sorry." she whispered before tucking the gun back behind her back, turning while covering her wound, and taking off as fast as she could down the dark street. She glanced back once and locked eyes with the man as she ran, but then looked forward and darted down another alleyway. If she kept making turns and twists through the slums she assumed she would eventually lose the men's sight.

"God dammit" Leo yelled as the girl fled he didn't have the energy to continue on any more and continued to take pot shots from behind the wall. He thoughts today was going to be the day that he died, through hunger, diseases, fist fights, fires, cold winters a small gunfight with HGV soldiers would kill him. Yet various yells came from all around twenty of the McCarthy gang members surrounded the HGV soldiers yelling, "viva la revolution dick heads" they aimed their weapons. Leo staggered out and pointed his pistol, "look we don't want any trouble. We both hate Nevidians and the GEE so go back to fighting your war and this conflict can be over with no more death" Leo yelled out.

"You forget from which side of the bargaining table you are speaking trash, we already have men diverted to this position, I would suggest you either begin running or surrender now if you wish to have any chance in actually leaving here alive, even with your...pathetic 'reinforcements." the HGV man spoke up, glancing around. It was no bluff either, being sent from several nearby patrol routes were what numbered to be two platoons of the red uniformed men, totaling up to 24 men en route to the now standoff.

As Kylia rounded the corner, she put her back against the wall, her face towards the street. She expected the gun shots from the soldiers to be the end of the man, but she was stunned to hear the shouts from several other men yelling at the soldiers- the McCarthy boys. At that thought, the pain in her side grew much worse as the adrenaline began to wear off. Her face drained of blood and she fell forward, catching herself before she hit the ground, she turned onto her back. She looked up at the stars as they became mixed with the moonlight and soon everything went black as she went unconscious lying on her back in the dark alley.
