Lancearc wrote:Above their little group, a loud explosion could be heard, followed by several others. Cymitia could only imagine that this was the form if distraction that the other Nevidian woman they had met outside of the sewer entrance had told her to await, and waiting a few seconds, she pushed up on the circular hatch above them, climbing up through it. An alarm had begun to sound by then, though thankfully nine of the soldiers responding were looking for them--not yet, anyway. Glancing around the room they'd emerged into, Cym noticed it was dark and had many other pipes and things of the likes running through it. "Come, hurry." she urged those behind hurry, helping the others up through the opening.

The new level looked like a maze of pipes and furnaces that Hunter had never seen before. Sure he saw factories on the outside, but he never saw the inside of one. Now looking at it, there was a moment of despair as he surveyed the area in the dark. It looked hopeless to remember which way was what by how many turns in a set amount of meters. He pushed the thoughts of doubt away as they quickly made their way through.

"We shouldn't be too far from the cells," one of their teammates said, Hunter wasn't sure which, too busy navigating through the area.

"Make this quick, we can't afford to lose them. We're holding this position, those were our orders. Good luck, godspeed, now go!" The other said, urging them onward. Hunter frowned at the thought of separating but went with it, there was no time to argue and the clock was ticking.

Gilang and two of his men had followed them all along, to found themselves in a building, which is probably owned by the HGV officers, and it maybe containing something. His remaining men had joined the other group to the sewers to deliver the supplies to them. Now, as they hid behind, they will know exactly where they lead to, even though a loud explosion was heard some time ago.

"This way, quickly." Cymitia urged Hunter as their other comrades decided to break off from them, leaving Cym with little time to disapprove of the decision. It didn't seem like the safest thing to do considering their proximity to so many enemies, though she supposed that it would allow them to move more quickly and stealthily, so there was at least one advantage to making the decision. Still, she had a rising feeling in her gut that something would go wrong. She'd been so fortunate throughout her life, always just managing to dodge death or misfortune while it struck others so near to her, people she cared about, and she felt as though soon she would be the one that despair fell upon.

An HGV man had been making his way back towards the sewer entrance to lock it down tightly when he'd spotted Cymitia and Hunter rushing from the entrance of the door holding his destination. The two rebels didn't seemed to have noticed him, and he grinned of ill intentions as he hurried to catch up to them, staying silent. He could get the drop on them, and perhaps even find out what exactly they were doing here if one of his comrades showed up to enable him to take them alive...

Jakov saw this HGV man. He snuck up behind the man.
Click. A gun aimed at the HGV's head. Jakov was angry because an HGV soldier took his arm.
He was now out for revenge, and to protect Cym/Hunter. The insane man didn't even give the HGV soldier a chance to surrender.
BANG!!! A gunshot echoes in the night. Jakov had revealed himself to Cymitia and Hunter.
The HGV soldier fell, dead. A bullet hole through his head.

Cymitia was startled greatly by the sudden sound of the gunshot ringing out behind she and Hunter, but still managed to turn and raise her pistol, as lugging about her rifle wasn't very practical within the close confines of the complex. When she spotted a dead HGV man and Jakov holding his own weapon, she instantly went from startled, to thankful, and then furious. Not only was Jakov here when he was supposed to be back with the rest, but his gunshot had probably not been the best way to kill the man, since she and Hunter had been trying to remain unseen. "You damn fool why would you kill him that way!" Cymitia hissed, feeling the urge to shoot Jakov herself for being such a fool. She glanced around their position quickly, it was a straight hallway, with hardly any doors and solid walls--their only option was taking off at a dead sprint until they found a more open area.

The gunshot had attracted the attention of two squads of HGV men who were originally dispatched to join the fight outside, near the main gates. The distraction put on by the rebels was certainly convincing, making the attack look as though it were the main action, they having brought so many men to strike at the camp from the most obvious of places. Still, the HGV had men to spare, and these 12 individuals were rushing back from where they'd been called from to respond to the gunshot from behind them.

"No time to debate, lets move!" Hunter hissed. They had to complete their mission and he hoped the two that they had left behind would somehow see what was happening and intercept any HGV that may have been alerted. Though he couldn't be sure how much he could rely on that.

Jakov looked at Cymitia and smirked.
"If it weren't for me, this man would've put a bullet in your heads. I saved your life...twice now.", he said.
He looked behind them and forwards. Jakov thought a moment.
"I have an idea. We need to find either an air vent or a room full of crates.", he said nodding at Cym.
He hoped she'd understand. He began walking past them and headed the direction they were heading, starting to sprint.

When they heard the gunshot, the 3 men squad rushing in to the direction of the sound, until they stopped and hid behind walls. They began to formed a tactic about how to trap them.

They decided to use a diversion, before head on. With HGV officers closing by with the sound of gunshots, they began to placed a tripwire, attached with explosives at they way behind, to prevent HGV from rushing to them.

After placed some tripwires, they begang to rushed to the exit part of the sewers.

"No, we need to find the cell block in which these strategists are being held so this entire war doesn't just go down the drain!" Cymitia shot back coldly, glancing to Jakov as he ran beside her, and then to Hunter. Sometimes she felt like the only one with a brain, though she only thought that of Hunter because she needed something to think that would vent this anger. "And we don't have any clue where to begin..." she muttered. It was true, they didn't even know where the cells were, let alone where their target prisoners were being held. Up ahead there was a sign, which read 'Camp Offices.'

"Do you think they would have records of imprisonments there?" she asked Hunter quickly.

Further back, the two other rebels had indeed spotted the approaching HGV men. They'd set up on two separate walls, but this mattered little. Once the HGV men had entered their line of sight the rebels managed to kill perhaps 3 of them before being gunned down themselves by the numerically and training-wise superior soldiers.

"It would make sense, they'd likely keep the most important people at a specific location," Hunter said, looking out for any visible threats. "We'd have to find their office or whatever the hell they call it... this way," he gestured with his chin as he was already moving toward a new corridor. "Not much choice and it certain beats weaving through all these pipes if we're going to try and find these oh-so-important people." The corridor let to an opening at the far end, he only hoped the HGV weren't expecting them.

Jakov grunted loudly and stopped.
"KEEP GOING. I'll keep them occupied...", he said.
He was slightly grinning, and waved to Cymitia and Hunter as if saying "goodbye".
He ran back, and stopped near where the HGVs would see him.
"HEY! I SURRENDER! I SURRENDER!!!", he yelled at the HGVs.

The group of HGV men had been devastated by the earlier ambush, but had managed to push through that with four men of their original twelve left. By this time they were catching up, but they noticed the Nevidian man rushing towards him with shouts of surrender. Each of them stopped, raising their weapons towards the Nevidian man. "ON THE GROUND, NOW!" one of them ordered loudly, training his weapon on him.

Jakov raised his hand in the air. His stub wouldn't move much, as it was simply a stub.
The HGV could see he was one-armed. Not very dangerous. Jakov waited for the men to come closer, as he slowly knelled down on one knee.
He seemed to let a tear fall from his face, waving again at Cym unnoticed by the HGVs, telling them to go.

"What is he doing?" Cymitia repeated once more, hoping that she was wrong but inwardly knowing that she knew exactly what Jakov's intentions were. She yanked Hunter's hand forward with her, urging him forward along with her. "Hunter, hurry please!" she said, though it was more of an order than a request. For all the stupid things he did Jakov was a friend, and if she was right about his plan, she'd be damned if she was going to watch another person she cared for die.

Two of the HGV soldiers stepped forward to apprehend the surrendering Nevidian rebel, taking his arms roughly into their grip.

Jakov attempted to headbutt one of the soldiers, and punched the other one with his single arm.
He reached for his pistol. He didn't see one of the HGVs already aiming at him.
He looked at the man. Gunshots were heard, and Cymitia caught a glimpse of Jakov falling, bullet holes in his chest and head.

Tipper Tower, North London.

Tipper sat gazing at his desk, dowsing off at every little moment. Until he heard foot steps running towards him, he nearly shit his pants thinking it was an assailant waiting to kill him. Arms wrapped around him tightly, at first he did not think of who it was yet as he slowly turned around reviling Ayla tightly grasping him with her eyes closed. "Don't ever do that to me ever" she screamed immediately slapping Tipper and bursting out in tears. He looked over to see Clancy carrying his two year old son he gestured for Clancy to bring him over, as he did Tipper hugged him tightly as the boy squirmed unknowing who this really was. Clancy looked at Tipper, "remember we are meeting with the man from parliament tomorrow, clean yourself off and be ready to leave at ten sharp and I mean sharp I have heard rumors that the GEE is prepping artillery outside the city we need to act fast" Clancy left the room. Ayla took the boy and cuddled up next to Tipper, she didn't say anything and just laid there as did Tipper who wondered what outcome would be of tomorrow.

"Relay coordinates now, ready to fire."

General Matthews stood with his hands clasped behind him as they typically were, just behind one of the several Paladin Self-Propelled Guns that had arrived from the United States not long ago. These mobile artillery guns were of great use to any general in the field or in defense of his own cities--or, in Matthews' case, in laying siege to a city. These massive beasts could rain shells miles away, so this particular situation was of little challenge to the machines. The SPGs were spread out across the perimeter of the city now, but they all took aim at a mutual target, the HGV controlled portion of the London walls. "Saying again, relay coordinates now." the man inside the gun carriage said once again, having radio trouble.

"--Eceived, coordinates to follow..." a voice spoke through the static, before breaking through much more clear the second time. "Coordinates are 2, 4, 9, 15, 21. Wind conditions will have no effect on projectiles. Ready to receive rainfall." the voice announced. This voice belonged to one of the GEE's forward observers who was currently crouched outside of the city, just out of sight of HGV men on the walls.

The large guns adjusted their aim only slightly before the simultaneous boom rang out across the outskirts of the city.

Being stationed on the wall was probably one of the most boring posts anyone could get. This was especially true on the HGV controlled portions, as there was little to no travel through the gates under their control, if there was any travel at all it always went through the rebel portion. There wasn't any action, it was just standing and staring out across the landscape. It was quite a view though from atop the wall, being as large as it was with its several different levels. When the ominous sound of boom rang out in the distance, every pair of eyes on the wall shot in the direction of the sound.

If the men could slow time they could see the huge shells falling towards them, impacting the walls with large explosions and great force.

Large chunks of the wall, followed by bits of exploded body parts, rained down on the streets below. The shells did a number on the already somewhat damaged wall, though the structure wasn't completely collapsed in any areas just yet. Massive holes near the top, though, signified that soon this structure would be torn down by time or the GEE's encouragement. "Direct hit, nice shooting gents!" the forward observer announced with enthusiasm to the men in the artillery batteries.

General Matthews only nodded as the ringing in his ears faded away, slowly. "We have the emperor's permission for continued bombardment tomorrow, we were only getting the range today." Matthews announced, before turning back to his tent without another word.

He couldn't afford to look back, right now they had to keep moving. Looking up he saw an empty office and Hunter pulled her hand, rushing them up the stairs. "Up here, this has got to be the office!" He kicked the door open and pulled her through, shutting it behind and laying low.

"Search the area, they couldn't have gone far! Sound the alarm, I want more men in here."

"Sir, they have all been diverted to the rebels outside the compound."

"Bloody hell, call for reinforcements tell them-"

"Sir."

"What is it now?"

"The rebels have blacked out our comms, we can't get through to anybody."

"Do whatever you need to do, get me those reinforcements, the rest of you pick it up! I want those two dead by sun down!"

Gilang and his men are now near the exit part of the sewers. But, to go out to there without preparation is extremely bad. They saw a man running but without seeing them, since they hid themselves. Explosives had been heard afar, meaning the HGV had tripped to one of the tripwires attached with explosives. Now, they prepared another tripwire behind them, now with explosives attached too.

They began to climbed to the outside area of the sewers, which looked like a hallway. One of them threw 2 flash grenades to each side (front side and back side of the hallway) to prevent enemies.

Cymitia followed without hesitation when Hunter pointed out a door at the top of a flight of stairs, which she reasoned along with him was most likely the office or one of the offices. Hopefully, it was the only office, which would make their job of finding documentation on where their strategists were held much easier and less time consuming. She looked around quickly, trying to find a good place to hide themselves. She spotted a large cabinet nearby that looked as though it was used as some kind of locker, pulling Hunter towards it quickly. "In here, hurry." she said in a hushed tone, waiting for him to get in before following suit. In reality it probably wasn't the best place to hide, but she imagined it was certainly unexpected.

Pulled into the locker he began rummaging through the various files for anything that could easily spell out the locations of the people they were tasked to extract. A clipboard hung by a set of keys and Hunter grabbed it, scanning the contents of bad writing.

"Here," he stabbed at the board with his finger, "Treece McCallen, Evelyn Zidal, John Fimmel , and Conrad Lehey. All in isolation and away from the gen-pop, considered dangerous but of extreme importance to HGV Intelligence. Section B, Cells Beta to Echo."

"All of this would mean something important if we knew were any of these places were..." Cynicism said quietly as Hunter read off the names of their prisoners and in which cells they were being held, it seemed. Having the names was good if they intended to wander aimlessly until they found some sort of sign that pointed them in the right direction, but having some clue as to the layout of the complex would be more helpful. "We should get going quickly then, it sounds like the men outside didn't follow us in here." Cymitia said with a nod.

Zachary Zamboni turned on the corridor light, revealing he was there.
He had a Luger aimed at Cymitia and Hunter. The Executioner also had a wide grin on his face.
"Why, HELLO there, Nevidian Scum. I am Zachary Zamboni. But, you and whoever you're working for may know me as "The Executioner". Either way, you know who I am now. I advise surrendering, considering all I have to do is yell and those men that ran past will come right back.", he said with a sadistic chuckle.
He leaned against the wall.

Hunter tapped Cym's shoulder and thumbed at the map behind them at the far wall of the office. He hadn't notice earlier and smirked at the though that maybe the HGV weren't as acquainted with the complex either. Scrawled on it were section lines and indicators of which section was which, moving in a clockwise pattern. "East of us from where we're at. But it's going to be tricky coming back." He tried to remember which turns and passageways quickly. "Alright, lets go."

Opening the door, they silently went down the stairs and made a left. Echoes of shouts could be heard at a distance and Hunter gripped his rifle harder out of nervousness. "When we see Corridor 16 Alpha, take a right and we keep going."

Cymitia only nodded to Hunter's directions as they made their way back into the corridors they had originally come from. She hadn't gotten a good look at the map while Hunter had been studying it, but she imagined that now he knew where he was going well enough, and these hallways were at least new, indicating they were going in a better direction than backtracking. When a light was switched on to reveal a lone man against the wall of the hallway, they both stopped dead in their tracks and raised their weapons. "And I would advise you to stop making such requests, we could easily shoot you and continue our flight without any hesitation." she spat, before the man had even finished speaking.
