The Cube is part of the plot. Waiting for him to get back online but this is how I would like to see it go down.
1. Cube Dies
2. Everyone Recieves an Mental or Physical invitation, each one offering what each character specifically wants the most.
3. The condition is that you go to Evil. (Evil is very powerful in influencing minds. Everyone will want to even if they had bad premonitions they will go)
4. The only to get to Evil is to steal and use maps of the Universe available only in The Angelic Library in Heaven.
5. Everyone steals or aquires one. Groups only require a single map.
6. In the Fortress of Ultimate Evil they are put through several "tests" as Evil toys with them.
7. Evil confronts characters. Many die. Evil destroyed. People can either return home or take a random portal or continue to live in this universe.

Oh, umm, since there are like, four of you and one of the Cube, I evened the odds a bit.
Now the Cube controls four bodies at once, but the more bodies he controls, the weaker and harder it is for the Cube to fight.
So, this prevents me from having 1,000,000 bodies, but it also makes it so I can fight more than one person at once.
Win-win.
In my view anyways.
