New Duel Academy Entrance Exams (IC, OPEN)

My characters text will be in plain text but teachers, proctors, and any NPC stuff will be bold.

Friday April 10th, 2013, New Domino City, Duel Academy Entrance Exams

Alex sat crossed legged and cross armed in the back of his families expensive limo as he waited to arrive at the Entrance Exams for this new Duel Academy. He was getting a little annoyed with his brother, sister, and cousins laughing and chatting so loudly while he was trying to think of strategies to use when he arrived at the Entrance Exams. His siblings and cousins preferred to just improvise but not him. He thought things out.
"Will you all please just shut up!? I'm trying to concentrate!" Alex shouted at them all and they quieted down quickly and near immediately. Alex pulled out his deck and picked up the top card and looked at it. It was his ace in the hole. One of his absolute most powerful cards. And it would help him win the Academy Entrance Exams.
Several minutes later the limo arrived at the Kaiba Dome where the Academy Entrance Exams were being held and the group of six applicants got out of the limo and walked up to the massive building. There was already a massive audience and Alex smirked since he would be able to give all of these people a show to remember.
Up in the top box Dr. Crowler looked out at the crowd in the Kaiba Dome bored and waiting for the Exams to start when an Academy Official ran up to him. "Sir the first group of applicants has arrived."
Crowler looked over at him. "Well who is it?"
"Alexander Barry and his siblings and cousins sir." Crowler jumped up. Alexander Barry had already made a bit of a name for himself in the Dueling World and Crowler wanted to test his skills himself.
"Put myself down as his Proctor for when the Exams start." Crowler sat back in his seat smirking as he waited to show this boy a thing or two.

OOC: This is not the Academy thread itself so the rules are not posted yet. Except that Dueling Network will not be used and each duel will be RPed.

[Ouearotion]

A mini van slowly pulled up in front of the Duel Academy Entrance Exams. "Do you have your inhaler with you." An elderly woman asked Oiron as she stared at him gracefully looking through his deck. "Yeah I have it grandma, you've asked multiple times already." Oiron said without taking his eyes away from his deck. "Well you'll see me on the news when I become famous." He said before kissing his grandma goodbye, and exiting the car. "I can't wait for this duel." Oiron thought to himself as he walked into the building.

[Decius]

While Alex was distracted looking around the Kaiba Dome, Rosier his younger brother spotted a boy walking into the Kaiba Dome. He put on a smile and walked over to him extending his hand for him to shake. "Hi! I'm Rosier Barry. I'm taking the Entrance Exam to get into Duel Academy and I'm guessing so are you. Who are you?"

[Ouearotion]

Oiron smiled at Rosier before outstretching his hand, " Hi I'm Oiron Lionfeld, and I'm also taking the exam." He said before catching a glimpse of Alex, " Wait, Rosier Barry? By any chance are you related to the great Alexander Barry?" He asked, while remembering multiple newspaper articles, and television appearances of the top notch duelist. "I've always wanted to duel him, you know see how well I'd fair against his deck."

[Decius]

Rosier grinned. "Well I can tell you it would be no easy task. My brother recently had his deck modified with brand new cards. I don't even know what he bulked his deck up with." Rosier then noticed that one of the Proctor's had walked onto a field and was staring directly at Alex who stared back.
"I think that Proctor is going to duel my brother to see if their good enough to beat him. I doubt it. So what do you think your chances of getting in the Academy are?"


Crowler walked out into the duel area and waited for the announcer to call Alex over. He prepared his deck to face off against this supposed champion duelist. He would surely gain victory against him for he was an elite and extremely perfectly trained and experienced duelist. This boy was just starting out at dueling supposedly.
Just then the announcer came over the loudspeaker. "Alexander Barry, please report to Duel Field 6 for your Exam."
Alex heard his name called and placed his duel disk on his arm and slid his deck into the slot and walked out onto the field. He looked over at his opponent and noticed it was Crowler the clown.
"Ah Dr. Crowler. I've heard about you." Alex said smirking as Crowler grinned with joy.
"You have!" Crowler shouted as he began to think he was famous.
"Yes. I've heard about how much of a clown you are. Now enough chit chat and lets get down to dueling you fool!" Alex activated his duel disk and readied himself as Crowler boiled with rage.
"I'll show you a thing or two boy!" Crowler shouted angrily as he too activated his duel disk and prepared to duel.
"LETS DUEL!" They both shouted.

[Ouearotion]

"I think my chances at getting in the academy are pretty high, but the highest dorm I'll probably make will be Ra Yellow." Orion said slightly disappointed in himself, "While yor brother will probably easily make Blues Eyes White."

[Decius]

Another Proctor walked out onto another field to prepare for another duel. The announcer came over the loudspeaker again. "Oiron Lionfeld, please report to Duel Field 2 for your Exam."
Oiron's Proctor was Professor "General" nicknamed that for his past career in the military and how he acted as though he was still in the military. He used a specialized army deck.
Rosier looked at Oiron. "Good luck man. Rooting for ya. Just believe in yourself."

With Alex and Crowlers duel Alex took the first turn. He drew a card and placed it in his hand.
"Alright for my first move I summon White Knight in attack mode!" A tall knight in shining white armor appeared on the field.
[White Knight is a Level 4 Light Attribute Warrior Type Monster with 1800 ATK and 2200 DEF; Effect: When this card is normal summoned the owner may automatically summon another "White Knight" from their deck. Every time this card destroys a monster in battle it gains 300 ATK and DEF. When this card is destroyed in battle you can summon one "White Horsemen" from your hand or deck.]
"Now I will carry out his ability to summon another White Knight from my deck." Another White Knight appeared next to Alex's first.
"What kind of card is that?" Crowler asked as Alex easily summoned a second monster from his deck.
"Next I activate the Spell Card Sacrificial Summoning!" A large vortex opened up behind the two White Knights and they began to be pulled towards it.
[When the Spell Card Sacrificial Summoning is activated, if you have two or more monsters on your field you may tribute all of them to summon a Level 8 or higher monster from your hand or deck. The summoned monster must attack the turn you activate this card or it loses half its attack points until your next turn.]
"So now! I tribute my two White Knights, in order to summon a new far more powerful monster! I SPECIAL SUMMON THE BLUE-EYES CYBER DRAGON!" Alex shouted as the two White Knights were pulled violently into the vortex and Alex placed the card on the field. The entire Kaiba Dome began to fill up with a bright light.
"BLUE-EYES CYBER DRAGON?! I've never heard of that card!" Crowler shouted in shock and fear.
A bright star shot into the sky. When it was there it began to expand into a dragon resembling Blue-Eyes White Dragon but with armor like skin like Cyber Dragon. The Dragon roared into the sky.
[Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon is a Level 8 Light Attribute Dragon Type Monster with 3800 ATK and 3600 DEF; Effect: For every card in either players graveyard this card gains half a Cyber Counter. For every half Cyber Counter you release this card gains 200 ATK and DEF. When this card destroys a monster in battle increase your lifepoints by half of the destroyed monsters attack points. Spells, Traps, and Monster Effects may not select this card as a target.]

[Ouearotion]

Oiron nodded towards Rosier, "I'll do my best." He said before racing towards Duel Field 2. "I guess I'll take the first move." Oiron said before setting up his duel disk, and shuffling his deck. "Get ready to lose!" He exclaimed, feeling the adrenaline rush in. He then drew his five cards before placing a monster card in defense mode. "I'll start by placing The Fabled Chawa in defense mode, and end my turn."

[Galnius]

Alex Ommegio walked into the exam looking for a good opponent. Finding none that he knew would be a close win, he sat down at the nearest empty table. He looked at what would be his starting hand. De-spell, mirror force, black hole, monster reborn, and Battle Ox. This table seemed to be a nuetral field, perfect.

[Decius]

Professor "General" drew a card and laughed a bit. "Soldier if you think that's supposed to frighten me then you got another thing coming!" He selected a card from his hand and placed it on the field.
"I summon Elite Sniper in attack mode! He'll shoot your puppy down no matter how far away he is!" A Military Sniper in full camo appeared on the field, rifle armed and ready.
[Elite Sniper is a Level 4 Earth Attribute Warrior Type Monster with 1800 ATK and 1600 DEF; Effect: When this monster is normal summoned you can deal your opponent direct damage equal to half this monsters attack points.]
"Now I activate my Snipers ability! Prepare to be drummed right out of here Private! Elite Sniper! Long Shot!" The Sniper fired three shots straight at Oiron.

Crowler stared in awe at the Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon and then he composed himself. "That doesn't scare me boy!" Crowler removed the scared look from his face.
"Alright well I place two cards face-down and end my turn. Your move Dr. Clownler!" Alex placed two cards face-down and ended his turn before smirking at Crowler.
"Very well I draw!" Crowler drew a card and looked at it. "And for my first move I activate Ancient Gear Calling! This card allows me to summon up to three Ancient Gear monsters from my deck to the field in attack mode! And so I call out three Ancient Gear Golems!" Three massive Ancient Gear Golems rose up on the field and Crowler began to laugh.

The announcer came over the loudspeaker again. "Alex Ommegio, please report to Duel Field 9 for your Exam." Alex's Proctor would be Madame Chevalle. The best French Dueling Professor in the world.
"Well come on little boy. Lets see what zou can do."

[Araiya]

Henry walked into the Kaiba Dome full of energy and saw some duels already going on. He wasn't worried since he had one a few small tournaments but nothing super big. He was good enough that he had earned a bit of a name for himself locally.
He walked over to the barrier and waited for his name to be called. He couldn't wait to get into the Academy. His father had gone to the original Duel Academy Island so Henry dreamed and hoped to get into this new one with all his heart.

[Decius]

The announcer once again came over the loudspeaker. "Henry Troupons, please report to Duel Field 12 for your Exam." Henry's Proctor would be Professor "Oracle" nicknamed that because of his Fortune Telling Deck and how he seemed able to predict his opponents moves before the opponent made them.
"Well boy lets go. I have already read your fate in the stars and they say you will lose this duel."

[Araiya]

Henry grinned at his instructor. "Listen up teach! I don't believe in destiny! I make my own fate! Now I draw!" Henry drew a card and placed it in his hand. He looked down at his hand and grinned some more. He selected a card.
"For my first move I activate the Spell Card Pot of Greed! This allows me to draw two new cards from my deck!" Henry drew two more cards and placed them in his hand and then he selected another card from his hand.
"Next I summon Battle Ox in attack mode and end my turn!" The mighty Battle Ox appeared on the field in all his viciousness.

[Galnius]

Alex walked over to the dueling table and searched for a coin. "How do you figure out who goes first?" He asked. "I would much rather have it random."

[Jormengand]

Pedro entered the room of the entrance exams with a cool contentedness about him. He had the perfect deck, and it had only taken him about half an hour to make. If everything went according to plan, he could get a first turn win. If not... then it would just take him another couple of turns, of course.

He waited for his duel to begin...

OOC: Its not at tables Galnius its on small Duel Arenas like in the First Episode of Yu-Gi-Oh GX. And your character goes first.

Madame Chevalle activated her Duel Disk and scoffed at Alex. "Zis is my opponent? Zey zink a boy can defeat moi? One of ze top profezors at ze Academy! Well zen let us see what you can do."

The announcer came over the loudspeaker once more. "Pedro Ignacio, please report to Duel Field 10 for your Exam." Pedro's Proctor would be Professor "Zeus" nicknamed so because of his obsession with Greek Mythology and his Greek Mythology deck.

[Jormengand]

Pedro ambled over to field ten, and greeted the professor. "Ah, I believe that you are to be my opponent for this duel, correct? I, as you may have gathered, am Pedro. It's good to meet you. Now, shall we begin? Who'll go first?"

[Galnius]

"Alright then. First, I summon Battle Ox in Defence mode! I end my turn playing two facedown cards." He placed down mirror force and de-spell.

[Decius]

Professor Zeus smiled kindly. "My dear boy you may take the first move by all means and I wish you luck in getting into our prestigious Academy." Zeus had a deck stacked full of Greek Mythology Cards that he was managed to duel Seto Kaiba with and managed to last twelve turns battling.

In Crowler and Alex's duel, Crowler was laughing at how his three Ancient Gear Golems outnumbered the Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon. "Well boy it appears your not this big fancy Duel Prodigee after all! What can you do against my Golems?! Nothing that's what!"
Alex just smirked as he looked up at Crowler with a gleam in his eyes. "I can do this! I activate my face-down card! Blue-Eyes Duplication! If you have two more monsters than I do and I have Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon on my field then I can summon two more Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon's from my hand or deck! And your turn is automatically ended!" Alex laughed as two more of his powerful dragons appeared on the field and it went to his turn.
He drew a card but then pointed to his other remaining face-down card. "Now I activate my face-down card! Polymerization! Now I can fuse my three dragons together!" The three Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragons were sucked into the swirling vortex that opened up behind them. The entire Kaiba Dome began to shine with a bright light as the dragons merged.
"Now come forth BLUE-EYES CYBER OMEGA DRAGON!" Out shot a star and then it expanded into a three headed Blue-Eyes Cyber Dragon that roared viciously at Crowler.
[Blue-Eyes Cyber Omega Dragon is a Level 12 Light Attribute Dragon Type Fusion Monster with 5000 ATK and 4500 DEF.]

Madame Chevalle drew a card. "Very well! For my first move I activate ze Spell Card Heavy Ztorm! This destroys all Spell and Trap cardz on ze field! And next I summon ze French Legionaire in attack mode!"
[French Legionaire is a Level 4 Light Attribute Warrior Type Monster with 1900 ATK and 2000 DEF.]

"Not so fast. I activate De-spell as a chain negating Heavy Storm." He grinned. "Nice try"

[Jormengand]

Pedro smiled. "Thank you very much. I warn you, this may involve me winning very quickly if I get the right cards. Now, let's see."

He drew his first five cards, and another one from the draw phase. "Okay, I activate Heart of the Underdog as the first thing I do. Everything else here is terrible, so I'm going to use Reload to shuffle the remaining four cards back into my deck. By showing you two soul tigers, a DD trainer and Renge, Gatekeeper of Dark World, I activate the effect of Heart of the Underdog four times. I draw four more cards, and show you Right Arm of the Forbidden One and Battle Footballer to activate the effect of Heart of the Underdog twice more. I show you Bunilla and Aqua Madoor, and do that another two times. Then, I show you Gem-knight Sapphire. I've run out of normal monster draws, so I'll slap down another two Hearts, and use a Magical Mallet to shove all the cards that I don't like back in my deck. Now, for every normal monster I draw I can activate all three copies of Heart of the Underdog and draw another three cards."

Not long later, he held almost his entire deck in his hand. "And now, I activate the effect of Exodia the Forbidden One, to win the duel. Good game, and don't say I didn't warn you."

[Decius]

Madame Chevalle snarled at Alex. "Zou! I activate the Spell Card Pride of ze French Legion! Now if I have a French Legionaire on my field I can summon two Legionaire Companies! Face ze might of zer French Armee!" Two groups of five French Legionaires each appeared on the field and Madame Chevalle smirked.
"Next I activate ze Spell Card Artillery Corp! Now I can destroy all ze Spell and Trap cardz on zour field and dealz zou 500 pointz of damage for each one!" A cannon appeared and opened fire on Alex.

In Alex and Crowlers duel, Crowler was lying face down on the ground twitching and blibbering like an idiot. Alex stood across from him dusting off his black trench coat while his dragon roared behind him and he just acted bored. A card "Blue-Eyes Cyber Assault!" was face-up on his field as well.
"Crowler next time try to actually provide a challenge. I didn't even come close to barely nearly breaking a sweat." Alex said as he waited for Crowler to get up.
Crowler got up shakily. "Welcome to the Academy Mr. Barry. It appears you really are as good as the media says."

Professor Zeus just smiled. "Well done pupil with your execution of such a quick win. But observe the duelists who just beat Crowler who had three Ancient Gear Golems each with 3000 attack points but his dragon only had 5000. So he used a card to power up his monster. You must learn that some opponents have cards that can bypass any obstacle. Some have cards that can be discarded during your turn and switch it to their turn. Never get too confident young pupil. And welcome to the Academy. You have passed."

[Jormengand]

"Thank you, professor. What you have said may come in useful, should any of my foes reach their first turn." He smiled. "Well, I guess that's it. Kinda disappointing, I guess - not that it's your fault you lost. He turned to Alexander. "Well, it seems we're the first two to win. While we wait for the others, how about we see how good you really are?"

He put his Heart of the Forbidden One deck away - his opponent knew what that one did - and took out his Zero Moment deck. "Want to try it?"

[Decius]

Alex scoffed at Pedro. "Perhaps at the Academy rookie. Then again I'll most likely be in Blue-Eyes White while at most you'll probably make Ra Yellow. I only duel those that have proved they have experience and heart. The only reason I dueled Clownler is because he was the chosen Proctor. And Blue-Eyes Cyber Omega Dragon isn't even my best card. Aside from that I have cards in my deck that would render that little strategy you used to defeat Professor Zeus useless. Work your way up to the top rookie don't try to jump there." Alex walked away towards the stands and then noticed that all his family had passed their Exams.
Rosier ran over to Pedro. "Hey! Sorry about my brothers attitude and the whole considering you a rookie thing. Fame has kinda gone to his head. Our family is part of the British, French, and German nobilities so he's always had that sense of being a bit better than everyone else even me and Christina his own brother and sister! He went to the European, South American, and Australian Regional Duel Monster Championships and came out on top in all three. So you could say he is a bit conceited but he's not kidding about experience. He has faced Exodia before and beat it. Oh my names Rosier and you are?" Rosier held out his hand for Pedro to shake.

[Jormengand]

"Hey, at least I didn't let my opponent have a turn! If they're fool enough to give you the first turn, you should be able to wipe them out in it!" He called after him. "And if you're so tough, why don't you prove it now!?"

He turned to the guy behind him.

"Pedro. Say, do you know of any cards that you can activate from the hand that would actually stop that combo? Because I've faced tons of people with that deck, and not one could counter it properly if I got it in the first turn.

In any case, would you like to duel? I think we have a while, since there's still someone being tested."
