They give you badges which lets you progress to the elite four, usually after you beat the elite four the first time you unlock a new area. Which allows you to get more items, new Pokemon and other.

Must win badges or you don't face Elite 4 (considered the best of the best in a Pokemon region)

basically how many times you can use a move before it hits 0. To refill the PP you go to the Pokemon center or use ethers and elixirs (its recommended you use elixirs and ethers only in the Elite 4)

But Ash was not Lucario's master. Lucario's master/friend and trainer was like Ash but died in the tree of life (Ironic). He was trying to save the world and he did.

Why of course. But Riley, in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, is the reincarnated forme of them the Hero. His Lucario is the same Lucario.

Yes. They both gave their lives to keep mew and the tree alive.

(This part is cannon and never stated as true or not.) Mew blessed them by reincarnating them. Though they still were part of the tree, Mew used some of it's power to allow them to live once more.

Also did you know a Huanter licked Misty. When a Huanter licks someone in dooms them. So essentially she should have died. That may be why they got rid of her on the show.
