Name: Ngolleki, the Slumbering Ancient
Species: Treant; a lumbering, monstrous abomination of nature, the Treant is a sentient tree with human characteristics. By nature they are good, but where evil lurks in the land, so too spawn Treant of evil disposition. They are enormous beasts which stand on average over 10 feet tall and are as wide as the great elder trees of the forests. Their power and affinity for magic are legendary, and while their prowess is great.. their numbers are few.

Ngolleki is a complex creature, contrary to what one might expect from a creature such as a Treant. His psyche, twisted by the ancient and terrifying magics that perverted the forest in which he once stood, is that of an insane denizen of the darkness. But despite his insanity and his cruel and evil nature, Ngolleki is a protector of the wilds and a guardian of the Multiverse. He understands, through the haze of his madness, what made him this way and the very root of his being. Wise through millennia of simply enduring his affliction, he seeks to eradicate the dark magics that corrupted him and the wilds of his homeland. That is what drives him, and it is what constitutes his sole reason for existence.

Control of earth & nature. Able to corrupt living and natural things around him and twist them into his service, although he does not do this often as it is essentially replicating what happened to him. Has knowledge of ancient arcane magics which he employs in a variety of ways: from creating shields to siphoning life, to creating great bolts of energy. Can enter into a stasis in which he loses his consciousness but is impervious to any attacks -- both magical and physical -- for so long as he chooses.

Ngolleki, the Slumbering Ancient, has been around for a long, long time. The story goes that he first gained consciousness in a nameless world, a world long forgotten by any such traveler and whose name even Ngolleki cannot remember. They say that there was a great war occurring on this foreign world, a war of great ferocity in which sorcerers of great power unleashed the very core of their existences onto the world in order to smite their mortal foes. This war lasted for thousands of years without reprieve, and it took a heavy toll on both the world itself, and its people. Millennia later, the planet lay in ruins. It was devoid of all life save a single forest, which had somehow been spared the scorched fate of its brethren. And here, in this lonely forest, Ngolleki came to be. Over the course of that terrible war, the combined magics of millions of spells and thousands of sorcerers had leaked into the earth, permeating the natural world and sinking deep into the planets core. No one know how, or why, Ngolleki came to be. To be truthful, not even he knows when or how he gained sentience.. only that he just felt for the first time. He remembered the war, remembered his past, and remembered what he used to be. And through the shroud of his insanity, he felt enraged. Enraged at the sorcerers for burdening his with this fate, with this vile and twisted existence. Enraged at the world for standing by and letting the systematic destruction of their -- and his -- planet occur. And most of all, he was enraged at himself. He knew his role, and had known it (perhaps unconsciously) all along. He was to be the protector of the wilds. It was his duty, his calling.. and for the first time in his life, he felt failure. This feeling, he had decided, would never be felt by him again.

You could sense the evil in his being or something of the sort and try to attack him, which wouldn't do anything to him (b/c of the stasis) but it would slowly wake him from his slumber. Would be a good way to get me involved in the plot.

It was sort of implied that Ngolleki was the only one of his kind, or at least the only Treant with his powers. I'd rather have him on some sort of a hill, alone, for you guys to stumble upon and wake.

Possibly Nore, or one of her servants. And he has a guard of Liches, 60 actually, many apprentices. He is a Demilich, he has learned all possible magics and studied them to the point he has exhausted all educational material. Now he is creating his own, and shit like 'dat!
