Technically, they're Jaegers. That just irritated me. For example, Crimson Typhoon and Striker Eureka were both Jaegers as prt of the Jaeger program.
Oh the other hand, I'm probably going to be up all night coding without caffiene.

Yes, that's why the old method was using two people in one VALK. Kind of like how in an F-15E you have the pilot and the WSO.

squee I don't really have a set identity as an image, but people know what to expect from me. And then I do stuff that comes out of left field to test how much they think they know me.

Not have an identity here? Excuse me but I'd like to have a word with you and Ms. Hekmatyar's public relations rep.

Pretty much, so when someone says Proteus has VALKs, nine times out of ten they're being piloted by two people rather than one adolescent due to the difficulty of obtaining UN controlled nanite technology. However that being said there are a few... exceptions.

Given Proteus' apparently extremely wealthy and powerful backers, why would they not have access to nanotech? At least stolen nanotech, so they could begin manufacturing their own. I mean, they're fielding far more VALK's than GAMA seem to be able to, so clearly the have all the people and industry they would need to do so.

The very nature of their operations negate any chances for a long-term research or development station or any sort of infrastructure at all. Proteus can essentially be considered as an evil Rebellion. They have their villainous Inquiitors which are pseudo VALKyries built especially for the purpose of taking on GAMA's VALKyries and GHOST Operatives. They're exceptionally good.
However, it doesn't matter how many powerful backers you have if ultimately you're self-destructive in your beliefs and ethics. That's the issue with Proteus in that their own clergy and foot soldiers more often than not are either their downscaled VALKs or the Infection itself.
