Born to Alice Daniels-Cooper and Professor Samuel Cooper, Joshua's genetic deficiencies were made obvious by the time he was young. His mother, dying soon afterwards to the infectious disease that was now beginning to appear across the globe, left him emotional scarred and incapable of social interaction for many years after. Looking at finding him a chance for new life, Professor Sam Cooper joined the Australian-New Zealand "Valkyrie" development program so he could sneak his son in as a potential candidate for the nanobot treatments. On Joshua's 5^th Birthday, he was relocated to a private military medical facility from his small childhood residence of 4805 Seashell Ln, Sydney.

Now enrolled in the basic evaluation period, his father managed to falsify records long enough for his son to receive the first test-implants at age 6. From there on in, the nano-technology took over and began to repair significantly damaged brain-functions. Though not programmed to do so initially, Professor Cooper managed to overwrite some of the base coding to allow for these repairs to take place, the rest went down-hill from there. As Joshua progressed, he soon began to prove himself in the simulators, but whenever he was evaluated on why he was an expert in handling firearms inside the simulators, but not outside, he'd refuse to respond. On the eve of his 8^th birthday, when he'd be fully indoctrinated into the program to begin receiving the medical supplements that help improve his condition and aid him in controlling his VALK, a young lab technician came across original records showing Joshua's origins and his father's tampering.

Sentenced to remain in a state prison for the remainder of his life, Joshua's father managed to successfully plead his case to the Court Martial Panel and in the end managed to keep his son enlisted with the program so long as he cooperated. Following his father's last order to him, to never give up and become a Valkyrie no matter what, Joshua became a model soldier and was even awarded with being able to go on a special recon mission with two currently active VALK's at that time. Returning without having seen any true action, Joshua decided he wanted to become a Valkyrie for real and began looking into how to operate and maintain the mech he was to be assigned (granted he survived the Final Injection).

On a cold July morning, he alongside twenty others were sent to the main injection center for the Australian-New Zealand "Valkyrie" project. Having been preparing for this, he was strapped don and put to sleep with anesthesia and then given the final injection of nanobots. For five days his body struggled to stay alive with his heart having actually stopped beating a record ninety times before he awoke, changed, different, and stronger now. Escorted to the hangars alongside the significantly smaller number of "Valkyrie" members, they were given their new mechs. Joshua naming his "Kingcobra" or "King" for short, became infatuated with the machine and on a trial run through the island course the hangar was based on, he managed to complete it in a record time. This new machine had given him life and a meaning to go on.

As time passed as he was taught to fully take care of his VALK, Joshua was also given his vocal implants alongside his exo-suit to help him whenever he wasn't "hooked-in". Now being stationed with the other main battle "Valkyries", he is determined to become one of the best that there is, even if it kills him.

Well, I did edit it in the original App. You can look at it if you want. However I was curious as to whether or not the jump-jets are weapons or not.

Ahh i see it now. I wouldn't really consider the jump jets as separate weapons unless its a case like my character where they're tuned and there are auxiliary boosters that are used to have it at near fighter jet speeds. If they're powerful enough for things like that then they would be considered one of the five since its a main feature of the Valk's combat style. But regular jump jets like yours wouldn't be considered toward it and are fine.

Also, the usage of a massive electric battery lowers most thermal transmissions and thus the thing usually runs pretty light, until you give it guns. Thus the jump-jets were added to allow it to move faster, but they can be ejected like external fuel pods and overall they are useless unless being utilized to get from place to place. This would then relegate the technically "weaker" Triton Series to long-range engagements.

I do want to ask however, what exactly are common weapons in use here? What are typical weapons load-outs for the other VALKs? Do they consist of rechargeable energy weapons, in which case, if that is so, do they still carry the same weight as hard-core rounds, or do they have differing specialties? I know that firing off a microwave round at a soft target would likely fry it and cause it to spontaneously combust, but would it still do as much damage to a titanium/carbon-composite-clad VALK? Also, I don't remember reading up on the specifics on ammo load-outs for said VALKs, do these count towards a separate application, or are they recorded somewhere?

While it is supposed to be 2050, it goes without saying that a mecha roleplay is going to have lasers. We tend to have variation from actual manual "rifles", railguns and gauss cannons, grenade cannons, energy blades and an occasional laser rifle. As far as the weights they usually equal out to the weight of conventional weapons, which could be explained off as they need more machinery in the internals to generate the energy so it equals out due to that.

As far as what each one does it usually depends on the weapon, while most people who have laser or energy weaponry's damage would be done through scorching a hole through rather than the actual force of a round penetrating, and the railguns just using so much force to tear a gaping hole through what its shooting. This usually leads to the different weapons people have being used for different things, like railguns being used a lot more for sniping. However for the most part we haven't gotten into the use of microwave weapons or even flamethrowers for that matter. Its usually just the case of people using what they know.

So to try and answer the questions simpler, the common weapons are as i said above, typical loadouts really depends on the person we go all the way from stealth valks with cloaking to valks that use sheer speed to dance around enemies as they blow them to pieces, and yes different weapons will undoubtedly cause different damage from others and have different effects depending on the target. Whether it be through trying to melt a hole through the metal with a laser or plasma cannon, or just punching one through it with a solid round.

Also after Mon and I talked about it, Kass and Towers won't be waiting until after this mission like we had said before. We kinda saw it as a dick move to accept you guys and not allow you in right away so you're starting just in time to be thrown into a mission. I'll give you both a chance to get a post up before we start so I'll hold off on posting what I wrote about the transport until tomorrow for you to get one in. After that we're all off to Seattle.
