Pokemon Nexus

Unova, a bustling region with many cities, new types of Pokemon, and many, many things to do. Here dreams are fulfilled, fiction was made fact, and new possibilities were unraveled. Cyrus exhaled heavily as he looked around the area, a grin gracing his features as he walked through the city, walking, walking, and walking. He walked until he came to a convention, a convention on Pokemon of course. What was the convention about?It was about the latest Poke-tool, known as the Omni-tool, a Poke-tool that has all of the uses you could possibly want.

"This tool can give commands to Pokemon, scan Pokemon, and tell you what kind of move a Pokemon is using. It has many, many more possibilities and is coming to stores next week."He said, obviously finishing the convention. Cyrus sighed, mumbling about how he almost missed out on stuff as he walked away, screeches filling the air as Pidgeies flew through the air, finally disappearing over the horizon as Cyrus watched them.

"Hm, wonder where they're going."He said to himself, shaking his head as he turned around and began walking in the direction of the exit of the city. "Time to have an adventure."He said, grinning and breaking out into a run as finally neared the city gate. He was obviously happy, he loved adventures, he just didn't know what this one would bring...but that would take all the fun out of it, wouldn't it?

Meanwhile in Castelia City...

Zap was at Liberty Pier fishing off it to get some more fish for the market. He has been there for about an hour now and caught about 3 Magikarp with a total weight of 19 lbs. "No bites recently.....maybe its about time to go." Zap decided to pack up and take his wheelbarrow back to the market filled with 19 lbs of Magikarp. The Streets were always busy in Castelia City. Whenever Zap had to maneuver around people, he would always have to say "Watch out!" or "Excuse me" or "Fish Meat coming through". He would always pass by the Casteliacone Ice Cream Stand admiring all the ice cream available while trying not to run people over with a wheelbarrow.

"So what did you catch today son?" his dad asked while trying to tell prices and what not to customers. "Nothing out of the blue. Just some more Magikarp. The heaviest one being 8 pounds." Zap replied. Due to how common Magikarp are found, The Price per pound for Magikarp was 50 ($0.50 per pound). The Biggest Magikarp Zap ever caught was 15 pounds last spring. The Biggest one ever caught by his family was when his uncle caught a 19 pounds when he was a teenager. "Just put the fresh caught Magikarp with the others for sell." You could obvious tell Zap's family had a surplus of Magikarp, though on the occasion his family would catch and sell Gyarados meat which cost 150 per pound. Oh and when soon to expire Magikarp or other fish didn't sell, his family would eat it since they don't want the fish meat to go to waste. "Zap. That will be all. You can take a break for now..." said His Mom. So he went off into the city...

[Phalnia]

Tim stepped on to the dock. Despite his light frame every step seemed to cause a creak in the planks. A little nervously he hurried off the pier. Even though he was a world traveler, Tim was still just a kid and prone to superstitious acts like this.

Now that he was off the rickety pier he felt a little braver. He turned around for one final look at the ship that had brought him here. Before he had even completely turned around he was blasted in the face with a salty wave. Now, wet and tired he stomped off in search of something to eat. At the end of the dock was a sign welcoming him to Driftveil "A City of Billowing Sails". He had to agree there was plenty of wind around here.

As he walked through the city he came to a bustling market filled with the smells of foods, and flowers. And the sounds of people and pokemon. Surely, he could find something to eat around here.

OOC: You most likely know this, but a pichu evolves differently than the almost all other pokemon. It evolves by friendship. Levels have nothing to do with it. Just making sure you knew!
Lightning (Yes, not Thunder quite yet. I am adding a bit more backstory to this to making it more interesting) would not stop! He would just keep on telling him to just begin his quest, from the White Forest to the Elite 4! Yagoob had some doubts, though. He just didn't feel the need to find any pokemon. Then one day, Lightning was gone. He never found him again. The only clue he found was this logo:

symbol. He needed to just electrocute whoever had captured his 2nd best friend. He got his best friend, Thunder, to join him on his quest to demolish all of Team Plasma once and for all.

Al hopped off the boat. It had been a long journey and he hoped he would find who he was looking for here. Something told him he wouldn't but he really didn't care. It was a chance he had to take and he had never been here. Immediately he saw it in the sky above. A huge white dragon-looking pokemon flew over. As it spun a hint of green hair was seen. A white pokemon with green hair? They told me this place had weird pokemon... He thought back to the old lady who told him about a demon made from ice. That's the kind of pokemon he wanted to find. It was one of the reasons he was here.

"Ok lets go Zarchel!" He said looking down at the Gible that was standing on the ground next to him.

"GIB GIB!"

And with that they ran off.

Thunder and Yagoob started their epic quest to fame. Yagoob was so happy he was finally looking for Lightning. He would find the person that kidnapped his friend, and tell him, "My name is Yagoob Montoya. You kidnap my friend. Prepare to die.(If you didnt watch The Princess Bride, you should watch it know, since I make a lot of refrences to it) Or, you know.. faint." He would train for him, he thought. He teleported to Black City to find out how to train Pokemon. It was all rather strange to him. They said,"Tap this button to attack", and, "Oh no! You have been attacked by a Patrat!" It was rather obvious. Anyway, when the person who trains the trainer left, Yagoob went to the Pokemon Center. After that, he went to the Pokemart, where he bought 5 small potions. He then got a trainer card form the pokemart, and then he had finally an official trainer!

Mom and Dad had insisted on setting up Natsume at a good hotel for the time she'd be spending in Castelia City, during her visit with Gym Leader Burgh. She'd be doing a lot of camping and staying at pokemon centers once she'd truly begun her pokemon journey.
The visit with Leader Burgh had been wonderful. He showed her much of the hidden beaty of things and artistic methods to capture and express it. He also gushed over her nincada, Shinobi, and discussed moves and battling tactics, as well strategies of building a team of pokemon.

Now she was standing outside of the hotel and truly starting her journey. But which way to go? Going east, toward Nacrene City would take her through the Pinwheel Forest. Going north, toward Nimbasa City would take her near the Relic Castle.

Natsume took a coin from her purse, to toss and let chance decide. She'd go north if the coin came up "heads", or east if it came up "tails". The coin spun in the air and landed on the ground.... Picking it up and replacing it in her purse, she headed for the city's north gate.

The afternoon sun was blaring in Virbank's docks, and Tag couldn't wait to get out of it. He had been standing in line for close to 30 minutes now, and he was getting pretty tired. Usually, the foggy mornings in the music capital of Unova were cool, just under 70 degrees, but today, is was a blazing 80.

Great, thought Tag. I wore my jacket, too.

Eventually, the line for boarding dwindled down to Tag, as he was near the back. He held out the ticket in his hand, a one-way trip to Castelia City. The sailor, a burly man whom he did not recognize, grunted and nodded his head. Tag thanked him and continued to his cabin.

The cabin was a plain one, containing a small bed, a desk, and a bathroom. Tag took of his jacket, leaving a white t-shirt underneath. He looked down at his belt, and unfastened the minimized pokeball residing on it. With a flick of his wrist, the ball was on the ground and extended, and out popped Kaz, Tag's Riolu. Kaz smiled and adjusted his scarf.

Tag smiled. "Well, we're on our way."

"Ri!" Kaz beamed.

"The gym leader in Castelia uses bug types. We should be fine, but be careful." Tag said.

Kaz smiled impishly and got into a fighting pose. "Ri, Rio!"

"I know you're ready, just be careful." Tag took the new trainer card from his back pocket, beaming. He was finally a trainer.

"C'mon, let's go get some air."

He grinned as he continued walking and walking, he was currently on route 4. He looked around the huge road as he heard a growl from behind him, slowly turning around to face a Pokemon, more specifically a Sandile. His eyes lit up as he looked over the ground/dark dual-type Pokemon, obviously happy to see it. He grinned as he took a poke ball off of his utility belt. "Go Larvitar!"He said, a flash of light covering the area before the Pokemon appeared. "Use Hyperbeam!"He said, Larvitar charging up the hyper beam as he got ready to strike.

The hyper beam was rendered ineffective by the protect Sandile had placed around himself, "damn it!"Cyrus said, getting ready to give another command to Larvitar. "Use Dark Pulse!"He said, the attack impacting the Sandile, pushing it back, though since it was slightly resistant to the dark pulse it didn't do much.

The Sandile dug into the ground, coming up above Larvitar and impacting it, making it fly back into the ground behind it. The larvitar skittered across the ground, making Cyrus growl slightly. "Use Earthquake!"He yelled, the ground shaking, damaging the sandile. "Use Hyperbeam, now, Larvitar!"He yelled, the hyper beam impacting the Sandile. A grin crossed Cyrus' face as he threw his Pokeball at the Sandile, catching it.

Natsume Miller was very glad that she'd packed a good hat, dust mask and sun-goggles before setting out on Route 4. Early on, she and Shinobi encountered a Sandile, and tried to catch it, but it was a tough fight and she decided to break off the attack and head for shelter. Luckily, the was a desert dweller in a nearby prefabricated block-house, who gave them an opportunity to rest and heal.

Back on the route, Natsume stumbled into a sand drift and was startled by a Scraggy. Shinobi sprang out of his activated pokeball, ready for action. In the end, they were victorious and caught the Scraggy because it's LOW KICK wasn't an effective attack against Shinobi and Shinobi's supplementing of his stamina by using LEACH LIFE on the Scraggy.

She caught a Scraggy!

Natsume decided to name her new pokemon, a female , "Gojira".

[Akkaga]

Al walked away from the gym doors. The Gym leader was busy and frankly he needed more training with Zarchel before he could actually do much. He had trained for many years and had pokemon unlike most, but he decided to start fresh with only Zarchel. He pulled an old pile of maps from his pocket. None were from Unova so he walked over to a notice board and grabbed one. "Route 4 is closest huh? So.. I guess we are going there." Zarchel jumped on his back and they made their way to the northernmost gates.

When they passed through the gates Al was surprised to see a bunch of very old buildings all around. He walked in between them and felt the cool stone of one of them. I was definitely not expecting this. He heard a huge Screech and looked around. A large Eagle pokemon sat on the top of a nearby building. It looked mad and then swooped down at him. "Zarchel! Duck!" They both hit the deck as the bird missed him by inches. "Ok you want to battle? Lets go! Zarchel Dragons breath lets go!" The little dragon turned and fired a beam of multi colored fire. The Braviary dodged at the last second. It swooped in again with it's beak glowing. "Zarchel meet it halfway! Dragon Claw!" The Gible's arm glowed and it's claws grew as it charged and slammed into the Eagle. The two's powers flared as they pushed back and forth, until Braviary was thrown back. It let out another screech and turned to fly off but that was cut short when a dragons breath slammed into it's back. A pokeball then tapped it lightly and fell to the ground. It shook three times, then with a click it lay silent. "Zarchel it looks like you and I have a traveling partner now. His name... Henry."

Yagoob and Thunder (The Marvelous Bridge or the Undella Town). He figured he better go on Route 14, where you can find Absols(15% chance... but oh well. He wants an Absol). He decided to run as fast as possible, not caring that some white text box kept on saying, "There is a time and place for everything, but not now." When he got to a big tall grass patch, he ran around in it for a while, attacked 200 pokemon, and gained a few levels (Now level 15), and on his 201'st pokemon he attacked was an Absol!

The battle of the Absol:

It started like any other battle. Yagoob heard a cheesy overused music theme song that lead into battle music. The thing that Yagoob didn't expect was that the pokemon he was attempting to conquer was a Absol. This was what Yagoob was looking for!

Thunder used Charm to make the enemy pokemon do less damage.
Absol used Pursuit, which took out about a 1/6 of Thunder's health.
Thunder used Thundershock to attack. This took about 1/3 of Absol's health.
Absol used Pursuit again, which was a critical hit. This made it so Thunder had only 1/2 health left!
Thunder used Thundershock again, and this time it paralyzed Absol! Absol had about 1/3 health left.
Absol was paralyzed; He couldn't move.
Yagoob threw a pokeball at Absol! It failed...
Absol broke free of his Paralysis! He then attacked with Pursuit again! Only 1/3 of Thunder's health was left!
Yagoob realized he had to catch it now, or Thunder would faint! That would be horrible, and Pichu's happiness would drop!). He threw the poke ball, and the Absol was caught!

Yagoob was very befuddled by this. How does that work? Absol still had 1/3 health left! Yagoob got Absol out of his pokeball to explain himself. When he did so, Thunder started riding him, as if he were a pony! Now Yagoob understood why he wanted to be captured, he wanted to be captured! That was why he was so easy to capture! Thunder and Absol would hopefully become good friends, and Absol be good friends with Yagoob, too!

There was some kind of excavation and building going on... oh, she remembered, the construction was stopped because of rumors of ruins underneath the site. Unfortunately, that meant that even the modern buildings were in danger of being swallowed up by the desert.

Going farther, a short distance from around a building, she saw another trainer battle and catch a Braviary. She clapped her hands in applause at the battle's conclusion and shouted, "Bravo!"

If there's another trainer this close to Castelia City, she thought, either he's headed for the city or north, like me. It would be kind of nice to have a traveling companion.

Natsume walked up to the other trainer with a smile on her face.

Great first impression, well at least Zarchel didn't bite her. Al finally pulled the Gible off and held him at arms length. "Really? Really? Just Really? Why?"

Alphonse turned at the Bravo. A girl, a trainer at the looks of her, was walking his way. I wonder... "Thanks. What brings a fine trainer like yourself out here today?"

Zarchel jumped up on Al's shoulder then fell off. The pokemon got angry and bit onto Al's arm. "OWWWWWWWWWWW!" Al screamed trying to get the Dragon off of him. Great first impression, well at least Zarchel didn't bite her. Al finally pulled the Gible off and held him at arms length. "Really? Really? Just Really? Why?"

Natsume fought to suppress laughing, but she couldn't stop a big smile, so she turned her attention to the little dragon pokemon and said, "Well, aren't you a mighty fine specimen of a Gible!"
Then, to the boy trainer she said, "He seems to have quite a bond with you. So, I feel better about coming over to introduce myself."
Putting out her right hand, she continued, "I'm Natsume Miller, from Rustboro. Don't mind all the desert gear, I have really fair skin and I freckle at the drop of a hat." And then, hopefully she asked, "Are you going north?"

After Yagoob rushed to the Pokemon Center to give his pokemon full health. After that, Absol told Thunder, who told Yagoob that after being captured by a good trainer, he would call himself Goodsol. Yagoob and Thunder liked that name very much. It was nice Goodsol would be loyal to him. He had always wanted an Absol. Anyway, after getting to the Pokemon Center, Yaggob passed a vote what they should do. Goodsol voted for Nimbassa City, Thunder voted Nimbassa City, and Yagoob also voted for Nimbassa City. Yagoob did not catch any Pokemon on his journey to Nimbassa City, but luckily, Goodsol was very strong, and could carry Thunder and Yagoob. Some travelers on the Marvolous Bridge look rather befuddled at why he had decided to ride an Absol, but no matter. He made a note to self to buy one big saddle and one little saddle so it would be more comfy. "This is supposed to build exp., right?" Goodsol said. Yagoob told Goodsol, "Yes! There is really nothing better to do for experience!"

"You had me at Relic Castle." Al scratched his chin. "As youvknow I have Zarchel and the Braviary, Henry, that I just cuaght. Zarchel is a pokemon I cuaght in Sinnoh.. 5 months ago." He sighed. So many years of running. So much time away from his past. But that didn't matter anymore. "So what are we waiting for? Lets go then partner."

After Yagoob, Thunder and Goodsol (Who is now level 17 (Knows Taunt), since he was being ridden) made it to Nimbassa City. Now, what to do, what to do... Goodsol told Thunder that he wanted to go south, where he just kind of felt that he should. Goodsol told him he really didn't have any idea why, he just did. Yagoob couldn't argue with that logic, so he decided to go south. Maybe he would meet some trainers on the way? Ya never know...

Zap decided to go with rotom to a local laundry mat to see if he can dry some of his clothes. His Rotom for some strange reason went buy the washing machine...."Hey Rotom what are you do-" Zap Paused he saw the Rotom's spirit take over the washer. The fridge dropped to the ground while the washer was floatin as Rotom took it over. "Rotom! You can't do this here. Put it back." Rotom's spirit immediately went back to the fridge. "Hmm. I wonder what other stuff he could possess." While he was thinking this, The Laundry Mat owner came in and saw the washing machine was lying down. "Hey you hoodlum. Get out of my site now!" Screamed the Owner. Zap and Rotom ran away and looked for shelter as the owner chased them out with a broom.

Zap turned around and noticed another rookie trainer. "Hello to you to trainer." said Zap "I'm not sure if I would make a good team partner per se....but what the heck. I'm in. But I got to ask my parents at the market in Castelia City. You mind coming along with me?"

Zap thought this charade and not knowing english thing wouldn't work out for a team. So in the simplest way he could think of. He said in a charade form "Sorry. I don't think this team will work out." and than Zap and Rotom went off back to Castelia City.
