The people James chose to feed on became much more expansive later on, with his crimes becoming more an more known. Along with his disfigured body he was not unfamiliar with a knife, and using the shadows to his advantage he gradually gained reputation under a new alias, which some believe to have been the legendary 'jack the Ripper', however this was never proven. Sticking to the shadows all his life James became a man of knowledge; his targets never knew of his presence in their lives, nor did they dare to find out if he did.
He fought on the side of the British during the war, mainly as an intelligence gatherer; the shadows were a particularly favored place to hide in and James took to it with gusto; his superiors didn't care how he eliminated his foes, whether it be knife of bite. Ending up on the losing side didn't have a large effect on him, yet ensured a grudge on the werepeople for their role in the war. The rest of vampire society treated James like any other Nosferatu; they tended to only speak (or look at) him if it was necessary, so for that James had little love for the rest of the vampires, such as the Ventru. His participation in the world wars was minimal, working as an intelligence gatherer and at times 'spy'.
Only soon moving to America, James now spends his time alone, wandering around, gathering information and selling it to the highest bidder.
