There are a couple upper class people, I think there was an app for a prince a while back? Karl's with the Mafia, and Xigbar is the son of the Vice President and a Senator, so if they ever forgave him he would have access to large pools of funds.

Does Karl have a reputation as a man of unsavory means? It just has to make sense for James to seek him out of all the people in the academy.

EDIT: James also put out the word for a high stakes blackjack game at his dorm. Perhaps Karl can come visit him to make demands that that is the mafia's "business" and he better cease.

I'm considering a very ambitious plotline for James. Something that would take a long time IC. A goal he would be slowly working towards in the background while doing the normal things he does. Not sure what it is yet all I know is he's going to acquire an exorbitant amount of money and do something with it.
