Transoxthraxia wrote:Name: Brianna Carolingian

Gender: Female.

Age: 15.

Abilities: She can read minds, so long as she keeps eye contact with said person. As well, her friends gain a minor euphoric feeling when they're around her.

Years in the Academy: going on her third.

House: Unis

Physical Description: The one on the right, with two blue eyes.

Personality: Brianna, or, as she usually prefers, Bri, is a quiet and shy girl. She usually backs away from any serious social confrontations, and prefers the company of books to people. Even friends don't know much about her, but she usually is much sweeter and more open to people who talk to her and that she has a positive picture and view of them. She frequently uses her powers to judge people, and, based on their thoughts and past actions, she chooses to talk to them or not. She is also very stubborn, especially in forced social situations. She has the capability to ignore people until they're practically shaking her if she doesn't like them. Finally, once one gets to know Brianna, she's very good natured and strong willed, as well as very educated, and also has an Eidetic memory that she uses to store all her former read memories.

Backstory: Bri's parents lived in LA when she was born, though she was conceived in Vancouver. Her father was an actor, and a very good one. Her mother was little more than a leech, living off her father's money and looking good. Brianna despised them both from an early age, and despised everything to do with them. Thusly, she became very disconnected with her home life, and spent increasing amounts of time studying and reading books, where she was able to live through other's lives. At an early age, she remembers hearing whispers whenever she met someone's eyes. Brianna, being herself, never mentioned it to anyone else until she became able to discern words and phrases instead of whispers. When she admitted this to her father, he thought she was crazy, and sent her to be tested. Once, however, the psychologists manage to discern that she really could read minds, her father sent her to Sylvan. To this day, Brianna hates any mention of her father, and refuses to watch any movie he's in, which, are many in number.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Because I feel more connection to a cute anime girl than a human child?

Honestly, I lost my love for most of humanity a long time ago. It's horrible, but I've become detached from the world, and few things can affect my emotions.

I cannot tell if the first statement is true or not, but it sure is for me. The world is irredeemable. Poverty, child workers, and the other plethora of unmentionable crimes will be ever present no matter what anyone does. It's about limiting the nightmare, not destroying it. Can we stop threadjacking? I apologize for starting it.

Ironically this is the issue I just got:
Last week, a jaywalking man was hit by a truck in a busy intersection. He lay there for seventeen hours before a policeman tripped over him and brought him to jail for loitering.
