Why? The parliament is joint, which is basically saying "hey, we respect your opinion on a national now" why on earth would someone wish to revolt?

You don't see the USA fragmenting (that much, and the Joint parliament and the Senate are almost similar in foundations and purpose.

The country is wholly dependent on foreign clients in order to survive; within 6 months of a sustained blockade, the country would practically be resorting to cannibalism.

I have nothing against you recruiting them, but starting with two million men under arms in peacetime is highly divergent from history, which is where we're starting. The British army prior to the outset of WWI- so it's strength now in the RP- was only four hundred thousand men. Half if which were colonial levies for the most part.
