Clavain searched through his memory banks for the best way to describe them, and then came upon the memory of the images the Wolves had shown him of their work. He dispatched several million nanites from his and his companions' bodies, and had them occupy a sphere above his head roughly ten metres in diametre.
The sphere was invisible, but not for long. It soon began to pulse in bright and varied colours. Stars and planets and whole galactic arms began to take shape. Millions of smaller engine thrust patterns could be seen passing between the stars in ever increasing spheres of motion. Empires rose, came into contact and fought in terrible wars that claimed trillions. Slowly sphere collapsed and stars went dark. The stars dimmed into just one tenth of their previous brightness and number. Then, no more engine patterns arose, no more empires, no more civilizations. A few could be seen just emerging on the galactic stage, and then their lights were darkened.
"These are the Wolves." Clavain said, but his voice eminated not from his mouth, but from the sphere, the pulsing nanites formed his voice.
"This is their legacy."
The view zoomed in on a planet, the screams of millions dying could be heard. The planet turned from a lush, forested planet, into a desolate dessert. the sphere showed thousands more such planets. Memories of millions of minds read by the Wolves flashed through the sphere. Then the view changed again. It zoomed out to show both the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies closing on each other. The screaming continued until the two merged, and then millions of civilizations sprung up from the dust, new stars formed, and the Wolves turned dormant.
"This is what will happen." The sphere spoke for Clavain again.
