I definitely believe we should have a limit to the amount of times we can use a super weapon during an armed conflict. Blasting Halos and Crucibles left and right makes for strategy to be rather bland.

So I'm to let him destroy my planets one by one with his Crucible? Sounds pretty much like an extermination to me. Nah, I'm good.

And as for the AM round, I don't necessarily mean Anti-Matter. It'd be more of a singularity super-collider round that basically causes the star to be destroyed.

And I'm not going to talk about the difference between scorched and burnt. Lol.

To make a Supernova you need 8-10 times solar mass, so unless you have slugs with the masses of at least 7 suns you're not making a supernova.
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

If the SCE is facing extinction, you'd be certain that the SCE would do it's damnest to destroy the exterminators as well with them. Plus, this is mostly an extreme view. That's IF he decides to use the Crucible, if not, well. He can destroy his fleet against my MADDS.

I've already waged the "energy required" debate to little avail with several people on here :palm:

Who in their right mind would actually use a Halo, they kill ALL sentient beings in 40,000 ly, that's a suicide weapon if I ever heard of one.

Could I still destroy the star with a singularity round? And what about destroying the planet instead of the star? Like a massive, uber fragmentation grenade.

That would require even more forces and being able to surround an entire system with enough ships to make it effective.

Or I could just surround the planet outside the firing range off your platforms?

Chrome, Halos can be fired on low rounds as well.

That would require destroying my entire fleet as well as my capabilities to build more.

This is just all hypothetical anyways. I don't really want to destroy anyone or me for that matter.

Quarantines in space is a stupid idea. With FTL it's just impossible to maintain. They leave in a big ship, and travel until you've given up on following them, you'd have to bomb them to pre-space flight first. And why are we all talking about going to war any way?

My thoughts exactly. Also, I have no idea why we are. They think we're going after all the Forerunners or something.

But... You can't destroy our lovely genocide machines!
Any film can be improved with the addition of Morgan Freeman, even those with one already.

The Crucible was an anti reaper weapon, designed to destroy reaper tech, why is it suddenly a superweapon?

Overall, Leich controls the ark, nobody can fire the rings without him stopping it.

So then why would installation 04 be yours if you are unable to use it?
If at first you don't succeed try again with an equally horrible plan.

Forerunner tech, the cartographer, Forerunner dreadnought (power supply only), 343 guilty spark, sentinel factories.

Plus, Leich would let me use it.

Okiedokie.

Just wondering.

Also didn't the Necrons have a star map that could cause stars to go super nova? Something orrery?

(Not that I want it, its just been bothering me for awhile.)

I doubt it, what would make said star go supernova anyway? I doubt the necrons could instantaneously remove the helium and hydrogen from a star very fast :p

Space magic. The C'tan were star gods after all.

He's had it for ages, I assume he has some understanding of it. Guilty spark would probably know.
