Long time no see! Apparently Russia is in severe demand. I was thinking of going with that, Persia, or some centralized Indian state. If you want Russia, you can have it. If not, I'll take it.

Haven't seen you around in awhile, hows it been? I'm just trying to figure out what all is open or hasn't been conquered. I'm not real big on Russia so if you want it then feel free to take it. I have no problem with going for Persia wouldn't be the first time I've role played as Persia always fun to challenge the Ottoman Empire.

I've been good, just started getting back into Nation States and located a new game!

Alright sounds fun, still probably go with India, but struggling to westernize and modernize as well as dealing with an Islamic "awakening"/rebellion/insurrection. I'll have part of Pakistan, mostly along the Indus. Want that river to serve as the border between us?

Sounds great to me and I'm fine with the river serving as the border. Would you by any chance know how much of the Middle East is claimed and if any other Muslim Countries exist?

As far as the Middle East is concerned, I think there is an Ottoman Player who has just down to the Levant and does not include Iraq or the Arabian Peninsula as well as a Turk-Chinese player who is centered around Xinjiang and has some Central Asian countries I believe. Otherwise, you're set to stamp out a Persia. I just search "Map" in the search box to find whatever I can.

Nation Name: Śāhī Raj aka: Imperial Rule/Kingdom
National Flag:
Image

Claims: http://i.imgur.com/fnGNjrx.png
I understand this is a large territory, but I am fairly able to roleplay it out properly and think in realistic terms. The Islamic elements of the population are getting extremely rowdy and the Tibetan/Burmese regions are very isolated from Sahi Rule.

Form of Government: Constitutional Monarchy
Head of State: Raj Indra Shiva
Capital City: Central Nagpur (located within the city of Nagpur)
Population: 292,801,000
Military Size: 1,500,000 Active, 7,000,000 Reserve/Off-Duty
Military Type: Heavy Land-based with Average Industrial Navy
Fleet:
10 Large Battleship
2 Small Battleship
8 Armored Cruisers
21 Protected Cruisers
5 Destroyers
21 Torpedo Gunboats
25 Torpedo Boats
9 River Boats

Type of Economy: Free Enterprise Capitalism
Primary Exports: Raw Materials, Fabrics, Foodstuffs, Minerals, Low-quality finished goods, Cotton
Primary Imports: Industrial Goods, Machinery, Military hardware, Steel/Iron, Medical equipment
Land Routes: 7 [Land routes are well-defined in high-populated areas and railroads connect a majority of distribution centers. Rail Mileage is highest in the world, but does not connect to underdeveloped areas.]
Sea Routes: 5 [Ports are kept well-enough to be serviceable and fit trade volume, same with River Ports. Nothing extravagant. Ship Yards are well kept, however.]
Harbor: 2 Main: Mumbai and Calcutta [For East and West trade]
Government's Stance on Trade: Taxes are placed highly on the rich and are lowered for the poor in order to collect a large government income. Tariffs are placed on specific imports to keep business competitive. State Taxes are set by the Peoples' Council, which represents all of the nation [which means most of the poorer classes, since they are in abundance]
Brief Summary on Nation's History:
The Mughal Empire reigned over the Indian Subcontinent, but discontent was spread throughout the nation. Popular Uprisings starting in 1730 further weakened Mughal rule in much of central India, leading to an all-out rebellion in 1740. A coalition of Rajput Kingdoms, Islamic subdivisions, Sikhs, Jats, Bengalis, and spearheaded by Marathas, defeated the Mughal Emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur at his capital in Shahjahanabad after 3 years of intense warfare. The Marathas emerged as the dominant faction in the subcontinent and established Śāhī rule, which mixed elements of of the Mughals with mixtures of representative democracy to appease their past war allies with decisions in government. The head of the Śāhī State was to be Raj to distinguish the past Mughal rule from the newly empowered nation.

The years between 1743 and 1791 were marked by the restructuring of Indian society as well as a transfer of ideas and trade from Europe and East Asia. Encroachment by European Powers was a constant problem, and thus forced Śāhī leaders to bolster military defense and accept a gradual westernization to ensure trade was kept at an equal standing. It was prosperous and helped fix many problems associated with Maratha-dominated rule, which eventually was rubbed away by implementing voting rights to male citizens. From 1791 to 1845, Śāhī growth slowed due to a large scale famine, which prompted a change in centuries-old agricultural techniques as well as moderate protests from citizens. Industrial ideas began to creep into the upper classes of Śāhī society, while ideas of the Rights of Man crept into the lower classes. With growth slowing compared to East Asia and Europe, the Raj at the time, Rama Mahesha, officially opened his doors to unrestricted European trade and aggressively pursued modernization of Indian society, including the adoption of factories and railroads. The first decade was marked by significant social upheaval as peoples moved from the farm to the city for industrial jobs, causing food to become in short supply and price to skyrocket. By 1855, the trend had ceased and food prices returned to normal, prompting large scale investment by the rich upper class in urban development and new farming techniques to further embellish their pockets.

At this same time, the Śāhī military began to sent cadets and engineers to Europe to study current design and tactics, and eventually pass on the education to the subcontinent. Foreign vessels were purchased and Shipyards were erected, with arsenals being refitted to produce European-style weapons. The Navy of Śāhī was influenced by the tactics and weaponry Byzantine Navy, the most powerful in the world, with some arrangements fitted to the Śāhī Raj to be at least regionally sufficient to defend the nation. The Navy is not by any means in the top considerations, but is powerful for the region. The Army however, adapted to European-style organization and training easily. Being a large force lead by fairly competent and experienced officer class, the Army has kept the Śāhī Raj as a dominant military power in South Asia and the Middle East, but has not developed a taste for Imperialism, save for Burmese Raids and expanding Śāhī Tibet.

Despite all of these "wonderful" things of the Śāhī Raj, many areas remain undeveloped and poverty is a major issue with the lower class. The rich control vast swaths of the nations' wealth, and medical supplies are hard to come by for any one lower than the small Middle Class. Currently, production is still lagging behind European nations but is rapidly closing the gap. With these issues brought forth, Islam is also becoming a problem as unofficial discrimination is present at the local levels of communities; while the Government upholds the Right of All Citizens. Many Islamic people feel that the government is not doing enough for their needs, while others go so far as to demand Sharia Law and the end of Śāhī rule. Tibetans are growing concerned with their under-representation, distance, and disconnection from Śāhī. The Government has began to forge railties through the Himalayas to connect more of Tibet to Calcutta (and thus the rest of the nation) as well as keep their loyalty out of Chinese hands.

I found a place that displays ship values of Pre-Dreadnought Era fleets around the world. Granted, it's in a text-game format, but it gives actual numbers of ships, their names, and their "combat rating" so we can compare them to other ships. So cool!: http://www.wtj.com/games/battlefleet_1900/

Here's a map I made for no reason: http://s23.postimg.org/c0tpprea1/Dawn_Map.png

G-Tech is the map maker, though.

I used mostly nations on the OP and accepted nations, and based sizes according to the European Map and G-Tech's white map. I see two player blocks, a European and an Asian one. For real, a European player doesn't even touch an Asian player (Byzantine is totally European).

G-Tech: You can use this one to adjust shiznit if you don't want to really get it done.
