Yeah, good idea, TG her about it. Having this massive nation to the north unattended is bizarre.

lol, not really, they're a bit too far for that. I just think too much is happening with the Eastern Europeans making war on their southern neighbors without this pressure from the north.

No, my nobles are. I give them the land, and that forces them to control and manage it; to do that, they need castles.Dires wrote:I remember the days when people were yelling out me for annexing the Khanate to the north, in total so far, I've grown in size by 30%. Most of that land is desert, and his original land is extremely dense. Most of your land is sorta dense, and very varied and the Khanate is friggin humongous.

Then nice try Nobles wouldn't be able to afford all those. Castles cost a shit ton of money to build. Not every noble with half a name can make one.

Maybe, but there's my point. I gave the nobles lots of land, and I am assuming that the ones rich enough to do so and with the proper motivation will build castles, which is a fair few. The nobles who can't afford it; bad luck. Go tax your people. They will probably reovlt then you can use their taxes to build a castle so taht you can control them and tax them more.

I suppose but Castles are expensive in the conquest of Wales when they finally subdued it England went bankrupt from building a ton of castles among other things.

That was England before they collected taxes from Wales, and before they had a king like Henry VII. Jesus, Henry VII collected so much money Henry VIII didn't even use it all until halfway through his reign! Besides, Wales is full of stubborn bastards wouldn't give up. Not to say the Scottish aren't, but their king surrendered and I also got Dutch and Man help. It's an investment; Edward Longshanks build caslte in Wales, and now we can collect troops and taxes from them.
