I usually wrote my one-shots in about half an hour to an hour.

Bearing in mind that this one-shot is about 12000 words long and took eight hours of watching old 1970's Doctor Who serials for research purposes.

It's time for an intervention, Nat.

So I just got my Scientific American issue, and I came to an ironic conclusion while reading one article.

So you guys know how there where hominids already in Africa, Europe, and Asia right? So, new evidence shows that instead of killing our hominid cousins to extinction, or completely assimilated them, we fucked them into extinction and took their genes. So we did this in Africa, and after interbreeding with the hominids in Africa, a chunk of us left and parted ways into Asia and Europe, and interbred with the hominids there.

I then realized however- anyone from Africa who has zero ancestors from outside Africa, is the purest expression of Humanity genetically, as they should have a lower amount of adopted genes from other hominid species. Whereas the population in Africa interbred with one large hominid species, the groups that left did so twice.

Cut to Europeans enslaving Africans, and calling them 'subhuman', when in fact they are more genetically 'pure' human than the so-called 'genetically superior' European.

Of course this is dealing in extremely small percentage differences most likely, but it's still an interesting irony looking back in history.

This also then brings up an interesting fact that at one point, there were indeed three distinct population groups that, had they never advanced their technology, or at least explored and met each other, did have the potential to evolve into three different species.

I finished my production, and it was amazing. I'm helping put on a production of The Wizard of Oz, and in the process have reunited with one of my early acting inspirations. Turns out he knows one of my current acquaintances. Fun stuff going on with me.
