The powerful ground-type move shook the ground hard, doing serious damage to the poison type, sending it out for the count. "Nicola, return," Casi replied calmly, holding out the pokéball and recalling the fainted Garbodor. He considered his options, finally settling on a pokémon. "Larry, come on out!"

The large Metang materialised, floating above the ground on waves of magnetism. He set his sights on the Golem and his eyes narrowed. "Larry, use Iron Head!" Casi ordered. Instead, the Metang charged quickly through the air, arms glowing, before attempting a Bullet Punch on the Golem.

The attack did super-effective damage to Golem, who countered back with a Rockslide, relying on sheer strength rather than typing.

"Iron Head!" Casi ordered. The Psychic/Steel type flew through the attack with a glowing head, rocks rebounding off the solid Steel body of the powerful Metang, doing a little damage but not stopping the Iron Head attack.

"That was a great battle. Thanks for the fishing rod!" Casi said gratefully as the hiker walked away, putting the fishing rod in his bag with his other rod. He turned to see Kevin, who had arrived during the battle.

When the battle finally ended Kevin walked over to his old friend to say hi. Casi had obviously improved, and Kevin wasn’t surprised.

“Wow that was a pretty great battle. You’ve become a much better trainer since we last battled.”

“Thanks mate, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been training though. I spent some time in the Snowridge Mountains before going for the gym challenge,” Casi replied.

“You’ve already beaten the Snowridge Gym? Thats where I’m headed now. I spent some time in Kani town before crossing the desert and challenging the Oasis Town Gym. I guess it was easy enough,” Kevin bragged.

Casi nodded. “You’re also taking the gym challenge. Who is the gym leader in Oasis Town? I guess that would be the next stop on my route.”

“It was a guy named Thorne. He’s got some tough pokemon, but their mostly ground type so I’m sure you and Steve could take care of it,” Kevin had remembered Casi’s Buizel’s name. “What about the Snowridge Gym Leader? I’ve heard he is pretty tough.”

“It was a good battle. Ice type pokémon. Gym leader is called Skinner,” Casi replied. “You’ll have a great battle.”

“Well it looks like we are both becoming pretty good. Up for a rematch?”

“Sure,” replied Casi. “I remember your Snivy and Trapinch from the double battle. How are they doing?”

“Well, they aren’t Snivy and Trapinch anymore.... they’re Servine and Vibrava.”

“That’s great,” Casi replied. “As you saw, Nicola has evolved too. Congratulations to Servine and Vibrava”

“How about a battle?” Kevin asked. “I know some of your pokémon were hurt in this battle so maybe use one pokémon each?”

Casi nodded. “That would be great,” he replied and grinned. “I accept your challenge.”

Kevin smiled, taking out a pokéball. “Vibrava, you’re up!” The pokémon materialised, the dragon-ground type floating in mid-air.

“Sam, stand by for battle!” Casi ordered, tossing the ball into the air. The Snover materialised, flexing its tree-branch muscles. As the pokémon entered the battlefield, Sam’s Snow Warning ability kicked in, summoning a blizzard.
“Snover!” shouted Sam.

“Vibrava, use Sand Attack!” Kevin ordered.

“Use Ice Shard!” replied Casi.

The two pokémon faced off against one another. Sam fired Ice Shard first, the fast attack gaining speed. The Vibrava used Sand Attack, dragging one claw along the ground to generate a cloud of sand, obscuring it from Sam’s view. The Ice Shard cut through the cloud of sand to find that Vibrava had disappeared.

“Now, Vibrava! Use Sandstorm to get rid of the blizzard!” Kevin ordered.

“Vi,” nodded the pokémon before whipping up a large cloud of sand that nullified the hailstorm.

“Use Leech Seed!” Casi ordered. The Snover nodded, firing a seed that exploded into a net of ivy that headed towards the Vibrava.

“Vibrava, use sonicboom to destroy the net.” Vibrava fired a powerful cutting blade of air that sliced through the ivy surrounding the seed.

“Use Ice Shard again!” Casi ordered.

“Sno!” nodded the pokémon, firing another barrage of icy blades through the sand.

“Dodge and counter with Sand Tomb!” Kevin countered.

The Vibrava nodded, firing small beams of sand towards the ice-type.

The Snover quickly used Ingrain before the beams of sand collided. Small roots entered the soil from the soles of Sam’s feet. As the Sand Tomb collided, nutrients entered the Snover’s feet, healing it of the attack. “Now use Ice Shard!”

“Sno!” nodded the pokémon and fired a number of icy blades towards the dragon-ground type again.

“Knock the shards away with Sonicboom!” Kevin ordered. Vibrava let out powerful blades of air that sliced through most of the shards. “Now use Sand Tomb!” The Vibrava’s eyes glowed and a the ground beneath to turn to quicksand. The Snover opened its mouth and let out a blast of freezing cold air at the ground, freezing it.

“Alright Sam!” cheered Casi. “Use Blizzard on Vibrava!” The pokémon opened its mouth and let out a powerful, continuous blast of freezing cold air towards Kevin’s Vibrava. The powerful ice attack covered about half the battlefield.

Vibrava took a faceful of the powerful ice attack, the dual dragon-ground typing not helping it at all. The pokémon’s eyes flashed with pain and anger before opening its mouth, letting out a burst of green flame towards the tree pokémon.

“Use Ice Shard to block it!” Casi ordered. The Snover nodded, firing a large number of icy blades into the flame. However the powerful attack blew most of the shards away. The green flames, although diminished from blocking the move, slammed into the Snover and pushed him backwards across the battlefield. As Sam was driven backwards, Vibrava came forward and used another Sand Attack.

“Use Leech Seed!” Casi ordered.

“Sno!” nodded Sam and it raised its arm and fired above the approaching Vibrava. The seed exploded into another large ivy net above the enemy and began to quickly fall. As it did so, Sam tried to rub some of the sand out of its eyes.

“Dodge and use Dragonbreath!” Kevin ordered.

“Counter with Blizzard!” Casi commanded.

The two pokémon charged in on one another, both opening their mouths at close range. Vibrava fired powerful green flames whilst Sam fired a huge Blizzard. The two attacks collided and spiralled together, gaining power from both pokémon attacks before resulting in a powerful explosion. Both pokémon were thrown backwards. Sam slammed into a large boulder whilst Vibrava was blasted into the side of the cliff. Both pokémon were unable to battle.

Both trainers recalled their pokémon. “Sam, you were amazing. Take a long rest,” said Casi.

“Vibrava, that was a great battle. Rest up,” Kevin said to his pokémon.

With the battle ending in a draw, the friendly rivalry continued. The two trainers shook hands. “That was a great battle,” said Kevin. “You might like to know that there is a tournament in Oasis Town soon.”

“Thanks,” replied Casi. “I really enjoyed that fight. Hopefully I’ll see you in the tournament and by the time we next meet, we’ll both have more badges.”
The two parted ways again, Kevin heading to Snowridge City and Casi heading to Oasis Town. The next battle the two trainers have, fuelled on by their rivalry and powerful pokémon, will be amazing.

The leaves on the trees of Goldenleaf forest were mostly yellow, as was the name, but some red maples and dark-green fir trees were present amidst the seas of yellows and light oranges.

Kevin then noticed a wild Furret playing around in some fallen leaves. While Sentrets and Furrets were common in Jhoto, they were fairly uncommon in Harvor, Goldenleaf Forest being the only place you could find them.

Ryan was sitting at a desk sipping a cup of coffee as the rain continued to beat down over Grullo City. The fires had been extinguished, and four of the eight suspects were apprehended, two of them personally defeaten by Ryan. Maintenance crews were working to get the power back on, a task which Alana's Raichu and Ampharos were useful in helping.

Alana walked out cuddled up in a long sweatshirt that stretched almost down to her knees, and her long brown hair had yet to be made into her trademark ponytail.
"You're leaving?"
"Yes."
"Why so soon?"
"I'm a gym leader, Alana. Just like you. I have to get back to Kani Town."
"Oh... Okay..."
"I will be back before the week is over. Just call me and I can litteraly be here in seconds. Okay?"
"Fine. What if they strike again?"
"The city is crawling with IP's, and it's guard force has almost doubled since the last attack. I wouldn't worry about that."
"Alright. Be safe..."

A few hours later Ryan walked back into his gym. Just as they had before, Katch and Rax were busy fighting it out. This time however, Katch's combination of Cubone and Houndour were giving Rax's Shiftry and Dusclops a run for their money.

Ryan watched as Houndour hosed down Shiftry with a Flamethrower while Cubone came up under Dusclops with a Dig attack. Tatiana walked up beside him.
"Hanging out with your girlfriend again?" she asked.
"Apprehending Team Rocket grunts responsible for bombing a power plant in Grullo City. And she's not my girlfriend, we are just close that's all."
"So you were spending time with her?"
"Battling Team Rocket."
"Riiigghhhttt..." she said as she rolled her eyes. "Some kid came by looking for you."
"Oh really? Who?"
"Said his name was Gareth. Real asshole."
"Oh boy. What did he want?"
"He wanted to challenge you. Rax and Honchkrow shut that down. Then he wanted to hook up with me. Hypno and a dumpster shut that down."
"Haha! Is he still in there?"

Katch's Cubone then launched its Thick Bone item into the back of Dusclop's head with a dark-type Fling attack. Shiftry then launched a Magical Leaf attack at Cubone, while Houndour lept at it for a Fire Fang.
"Hey Katch! Finish up and go see if that stupid trainer is still in the garbage!"
"Aww come on! Make Rax do it, he is about to loose anyway!"

Isaac, feeling much better, went to a mart to sell the stuff he found.

"Sorry, sir," The cashier as politely, "These are either broken or passed its expiration date. A recycling center might buy these. I'm not sure with this TM though. But the rest, I can buy." He then sell the stuff and head towards the recycling center to sell the other stuff, leaving only the TM.

"Now what to do with this." Isaac said as Shadow come out of his pokeball, "Oh, I should see what those two are like then." Isaac then made the two poochyenas come out of their pokeballs. One, a male, was growling at him while the other, a female, is behind the growling one.

"Hmm, I'll call you Nightbane, and you, Moonlight." He said to the male, then the female, "We're going to do some traveling soon." He said close to Moonlight, who then use Sand Attack on his face, then Nightbane use Bite on his leg. Shadow is just laughing at the scene.

Minutes later, after bandaging his leg from the bite, they found a pawn shop with a cameraman by the front door.

"What brings you here?" He asked.

"I'm looking for a place to sell this TM I found, hopefully I could get fifty percent from it."

Inside, there's lots of interesting things in display. A worker then look to inspect the TM.

"Well, this looks unused, but the problem with TMs is its Digital Rights Management. In some places, there's the One-Use Only, in some versions it literally wipe the TM clean after one use, while in other places, there's the ID Tag which prevents sharing the TM by locking it to one trainer ID only. Look, I'll call my buddy who knows all the details on this. In what status the TM is in greatly affects its sell price." Isaac agreed and waited, looking at a different cameraman filming every transaction. The TM Guy entered the building half an hour later with a laptop.

"Ok, let's see what we got here." He said as Isaac and the pawn shop worker watch carefully.

"Let's hope its not a cracked TM." The pawn shop worker said.

"A what?" Isaac asked.

"Cracked TM, its pretty much worthless, and risky to use. One urban legend says that a pokemon when on a murder spree after its trainer use a cracked TM on it."

"There's a more hilarious urban legend that a Machoke ended up learning ballet from a cracked TM. But the TM debate is still going on, and a number of crime syndicates would love to use cracked TMs, especially if they can teach pokemon moves it might not be able to learn or new possibly dangerous made up moves." The TM Guy said, after the scan's complete, he give his verdict. "It's a little roughed up, but still useable. It's a One-Use Only TM. The selling price right now for this TM is 5000."

"So can it be 3000?" Isaac asked.

"That's too high, 2000." The pawn shop guy replied.

"2500."

"Still 2000."

"2000 it is then." Isaac then shake his hand and finalize the deal.

"I may not got the amount I want but at least I sold it." Isaac said to the cameraman before leaving.

He then buy some supplies and a new digital map. He then reach a hot air balloon shop.

"Now, where to go." Isaac said as he was told that his hot air balloon is fixed, "Not east, that's for sure. Kani town looks promising."

Jake woke up in a small boxy room. The walls were white wash, and had no windows. The only furnishings were the stainless steel bed he was laying on. He was dressed in a white t-shirt and white khakis. There was a pair of size 10 plain white shoes. The last thing Jake could remember he was battling a wild Lotad by a river-side on Aqua Island. Where the hell was he now? How long was he unconscious for? Where were his pokemon?

He started to panic and began banging on the painted steel door. The heavy pounding echoed through the hospital-prison like hallways.

HEY! SOMEONE!!

He shouted at the top of his lungs. He began shaking the door, violently, and rigorously trying at the handle. As he was throwing his little tantrum, he heard some footsteps close in on him. He stopped and listened. The taps rang out, getting louder and louder. A little slit on the door flew open and a pair of dull, grey eyes glared in at him. Without movement a well refined posh voice could be heard from the other side.

Stand back from the door, please.

Jake did as he was told and took two steps back. The door swung open and revealed an elderly man dressed in a pressed grey pinstripe suit standing between two henchmen-like goons. They eyed Jake for a few seconds before giving him the command to exit the room ..

As he exited a pair of handcuffs were slapped on him. On of the goons gave him a shove and Jake began walking. The clip-clop of the four pairs of shoes echoed throughout the halls in an ominous effect. After about twenty meters one of the goons commanded in his monotone voice.

Stop.

Jake stopped walking and turned around to face them. They had stopped at another door, painted white to match the rest of the building. The old man looked at Jake with a stern face and then looked to the door. He took a step forward.

In that room you will find your pokemon. They are being used as subjects for a few of our experiments. Harmless of course, but if- nay, when they are successful, they will be some of the strongest pokemon in the region.

Jake looked down at his feet. It was a struggle to keep himself from shaking with rage. Who the hell did these people think they were? Not a chance was he letting them away with this. He turned to the door and opened it. He walked in with no command from his holders. What he seen was shocking .. sickening. Krabby was being held aloft in some green fluid in a large tube. He seemed to be asleep, maybe even dead. Spinda had some sort of suit on her, skin tight. She was struggling to walk as a sharp looking girl in a labcoat yelled at her. Golbat was also there, he had some chains around his claws keeping him down as he desperately tried to fly away. Sandshrew and Eevee were in a small area, each of them had some strange sort of headgear on. Two more lab technicians had controllers in their hands and were laughing to each other as the pokemon battled. And by god did they battle. Eevee seemed to be using moves like Trump Card, while Sandshrew was kicking up sandstorms and creating earthquakes. With his handcuffs on and no support, Jake could do nothing but watch in horror. He felt a cold presence beside him and turned to see the grey old man.

Beautiful isn't it. Your pokemon have some real potential. And here we will harness that poten-

Jake stood and looked deep into the man's eyes, he was no more than six inches from his face as he laughed. With an uncontrollable rage, Jake leaned back some before driving his head into the old mans. Blood began gushing from his nose as he collapsed to the floor. Jake was about to give a flurry of kicks but he was taken down by one of the goons. He felt a blow to his head and blacked out, but not before he got to watch the man who stole his pokemon writhed around in pain with a face of blood.

"Let's rest for a bit before heading off." Isaac said to the three pokemon as they head towards the pokemon center.

At the pawn shop, the worker is having a break when a crash was heard. He went to investigate, and see a poochyena by the thrash. But before he could return, someone grab him from behind and knock him out using a chloroform filled rag. The Shadow Thief stole 1000 from the cash register.

When Isaac woke up from his nap, he saw the poochyenas playing by a puddle with Shadow playing with them. Looking down, he notice an envelope on his chest pocket. There he found a letter and 1000 cash.

"Thanks, who ever you are." Isaac said as he heads out, "Shadow, Nightbane, Moonlight, we better go." He called his pokemon and they head towards the hot air balloon shop, inflate it, and head south to Kani Town.

Booker, the International Police agent, is at the scene of the crime with Officer Jennifer 'Jenny' Brown and her partner Officer Arnold Johnson.

"That's him alright." Jenny said as the video show the hooded thief pulling out 1000 from the cash register.

"Why 1000, this is a famous pawn shop, with both priceless artifacts and rare minerals." Johnson asked as Booker think deeply.

"I'm guessing the thief pawned something here at a high price but was haggled to be a thousand less. Tell the workers to give us a list of people who got a thousand less than the starting price today. Since this place is filmed for that TV show, it would greatly help the investigation if the director agree to look at the video."

Heading above Terror Forest, Isaac and his pokemon are watching the view.

"To bad Shadow can't come out of his pokeball and watch with us, being near weightless and all. What a view." Isaac said as they head towards the dark, forbidding, and possibly reasonably called, Terror Forest.

Casi descended the mountain, following the route Kevin had taken to climb up. At the bottom of the mountain was a small pokémon centre, built to let travelling trainers stay the night rather than making the climb in the dark. Casi entered it and healed his pokémon. "What would you say is the best way to Oasis Town?" he asked the Nurse Joy.

She thought for a moment. "Stick to the main road. Pokémon do come out of the sand but within the Chara Desert, there are few landmarks. We don't want trainers getting lost in the desert."

"Thanks Joy," replied Casi and headed out, following the road.

The Sableye was slammed by the Wing Attack. The pokémon then used Shadow Sneak, a fast ghost-type move.
