Cubchoo absorbed the damage, combining it with the damage it took from the Confusion. It lashed out towards Ralts, multiplying the damage it took and dealing it back.

"Ralts, use teleport to dodge!" Ralts disappeared and reappeared high in the air. "Now, use confusion!"

Cubchoo completely missed with Bide, crashing into a tree. As it turned the Confusion struck him, once again dealing serious damage. The Cubchoo turned and fired off an Icy Wind towards Ralts.


Stumbling through the darkness of the tunnel, Phil tripped over something hard and landed on his face. He stumbled back to his feet, expecting trouble.

[Acroticus]

When Bale woke up he still had no reply from the gym leader, but it made no difference, the tournament would go on with or without him.
Bale went to the desert again.

At first Magnemite didn't know what was going on and sparked slightly but as it saw all the other pokémon joining in, having fun, the pokémon decided to loosen up, enjoying the experience.

"So, what do you think?" Amon asked the Magnimite "Do you want to continue hanging around in an old abandoned building, or come train with me? We could ask Grimer to come along too."

On the other side of the Harvor region, a letter was delivered to the Aqua Island Gym. Frankie opened it, reading it over breakfast. "A tournament hosting contest? Should be interesting..."

He dashed off a quick reply before posting the letter later that day.

Dear Bale,

Thank you for asking me to judge your birthday tournament. After your performance in the Herracross Town tournament, I can tell that there will be some wonderful battles to be held. I would be honoured to come host your tournament.

Magnemite considered this. "Magnemite..." the pokémon said, unsure of what to choose. In the end though he chose to go with Amon, although he would miss his home.

Amon threw the pokeball at Magnimite and it started to shake, everyone looking to see if it would change its mind...

The pokéball shook a few more times before clicking shut. Magnemite was now definitely a member of Amon's team.

Phil stared down at the rock he tripped over. "Guess it was nothing." Phil's voice echoed down the dark tunnel. He made his way down the tunnel, hearing noises with every step. Something was drawing closer to him.

The pokeball with Cubchoo in it disappeared. It had been transferred to his homes since Kevin could only have six pokemon at once. Kevin then continued into the mountains.

A group of Zubats flew around Phil. One stayed behind, and screeched at Phil.

Tentacool's attack did minor damage to Machop and lowered its defensive stats. Machop then snapped out of confusion and attemped another Seismic Toss.

The Tentacool was grabbed by its tentacles and thrown into the air. "Use Supersonic from above!" Casi ordered.

The pokémon nodded, flooding the battlefield with waves of confusion before landing heavily, the damage done by Machop's attack being a set value.

"Shuppet use Will O' Wisp on the group of Zubats. Wingull, use supersonic on the group as well. Zigzagoon, use Headbutt on the one all alone."

Zigzagoon shot off at high speed towards the Zubat. Zigzagoon's scrambled brain failed on it, and it crashed head first into the tunnel wall.

Machop ducked and rolled out of the way of the Supersonic, which as an attack was not the most accurate method of confusion, and then charged at Tentacool ready to use another proportional damage Seismic Toss.

"Dodge it Machop! Then hit it with another Seismic Toss!"

Machop ducked and rolled out of the way of the Supersonic, which as an attack was not the most accurate method of confusion, and then charged at Tentacool ready to use another proportional damage Seismic Toss.

"Wrap your tentacles around Machop and use Bubblebeam!" Casi ordered.

"Tenta..." nodded the pokémon as Machop charged in. As Machop put its hands on Charlie, the jellyfish wrapped its long tentacles around both the fighting type's arms (one per arm), securing itself to the opponent to nullify the attack. "Tentacool!" Charlie growled angrily before firing a Bubblebeam at point-blank range.

The group of Zubats, facing the attacks, became frightened and flew away. The wild Zubat was hit by Zigzagoon head butt. The Zubat regained its balance and sent a supersonic wave towards Zigzagoon.

The wave connected with Zigzagoon, scrambling its mind for a few moments. Zigzagoon's ability kicked in, boosting its speed. Phil shouted again, "Use Headbutt again." Zigzagoon shot off at high speed towards the Zubat. Zigzagoon's scrambled brain failed on it, and it crashed head first into the tunnel wall.

As Kevin climbed the mountain, he could see a large plateau near the top where the faint sounds of a pokémon battle could be heard. It would take some climbing to reach the area.

Bale quickly desided to head back to the Hazelfields. When he arrived there he saw a large pokemon drinking from a small lake...

As Kevin climbed the mountain, he could see a large plateau near the top where the faint sounds of a pokémon battle could be heard. It would take some climbing to reach the area.

Kevin began to speed up, climbing higher, looking for what could be making that sound.
