I feel better winning with normal pokemon. The legendaries are basically the "win button".

Depends. For shop events you go into Mystery Gift in the main menu and then Connect via Wireless.

For wifi stuff such as Dreamworld, you need to connect yourself to the internet.

I feel better winning with normal pokemon. The legendaries are basically the "win button".

Generally I save, do a battle with the legendaries, feel confident I can wipe it out, then reset the game and catch it in a pokéball.

Having to download off the mystery gift is the single most annoying thing about the newer Pokemon games. I live in an area where the nearest EB games is a half hour drive away. It sucks.

Because usually shops tie in a mystery gift with buying something if they can help it. And there are some you can just download.
