Interesting, his lawyer came here. But why? Because he got a call from him, Skinner and his friends have something to do with this, I just know it. Remember to keep an eye on Dalton, Skinner, and Radford, they may be of use later on.

"This isn't the last you'll see of me Skinner, be prepared to answer some questions," Brandon told Skinner before moving off.

I should probably share a few things with O'Brian, or Lynch. If there not busy, he thought before looking for Debra.

Brandon found Debra questioning some reporters, it probably wasn't the best time to interrupt her. So he went off to go find Radford and Dalton. He asked a few people where they were and tried finding them, he had a few questions for them.

As Arrington searched around for the two councilman, he would not find them. They had left before the murder, so they were at home with their families, hearing news of the death of Decatur. Meanwhile, Skinner turned to his lawyer.

"Thank you," he said. "Would you like to go out for a drink?"

Even when he was a Green Beret, he had to investigate Taliban cells in the mountains and hills of Afghanistan. When she left, he looked on before looking on at his detectives.

"Audrey, Audrey Stanton," the reporter finally said, intimidated by O'Brian's stare. "No, I saw nothing suspicious, except some people were bothered by Councilman Decatur's speech. Everything seemed just normal."

"Right, Audrey Stanton." she said nodding her head slightly before writing down her name and taking note of what she had previously said, hoping that she could squeeze some more information out of the her. "Ok, could you identify any of the people who 'brothered' by his speech, if you can't identify them by name, you can point them out if they see them." she said intuitively. "The speech is on tape right?" she asked quickly before taking a look over her shoulder.

"A whole lot of them were bothered," Audrey said. "Not because he targeted them outright, but because he was one of the few people to call out other councilmen for corruption. Councilmen Dalton, Skinner, and Radford were called out by name, as well as Dennis Feldman. And yes, it's on the tape."

Brandon decided to stop looking for the other councilmen since he couldn't seem to find them. It wasn't that surprising that they left the scene before the killing happened, if they stayed they knew they would be grilled with questions by the police. So they probably left to avoid the police, a smart move.

I'll guess that the three councilmen Skinner, Radford, and Dalton had something to do with this. They've done some suspicious moves since the killing. And they supposedly didn't like the dead councilman. I can't make accurate predictions yet, but so far my guess is that they had something to do with this. Maybe this case will be easier than I thought.

Brandon put his notebook back and continued to look for councilmen and women. If he found one of them he would ask, 'sir, (or ma'am.) do you mind if I ask you a few questions?' Then he would pull out his notebook and pen, ask them some questions, and write down a few notes in his notebook.

"All right." Debra said quickly before writing down the names of the councilmen names, marking them down as possible suspects. "I think you've answered enough questions for just now, if you come up with anything that might help my department and I lead us to the bastard who did this, phone this number." she removed a small white card which had her desk phone number written on. "Sir, I've got a tape form the news crew who were covering the meeting and I've got a couple of names that our John called out on corruption during his speech." she said with a slight smirk, flashing the tape that she had acquired.

"Well that's just fucking brilliant." she said sarcastically before taking a look at her notebook, looking at the list of names. "'I've got a gut feeling that one of the council members that was called out has something to do with this." she said quietly. "You got the plate number? Probably stolen, don't think our shooters would be stupid enough to use their own car." she muttered quietly. "Well, I hope they are."

Brandon would find no one, as the only people left were just workers who noticed what had happened, as well as the two officers who had responded to the shooting. The two men looked distant; the councilman had died on their watch.

Brandon decided he would stop looking around for people, the only people left that could be useful we're the policemen and they had already given out everything they knew. He decided he would go back to Lynch and report his findings. He walked over to him and pretended to not notice Debra.

"I got suspicions on councilmen Radford, Skinner, and Dalton. Supposedly their names were ruined by the dead councilman during his speech. I believe they've had past encounters with him that were just like this one, they may have something to do with this, since Skinner's lawyer drove his way here in a hurry and told him that he didn't have to answer my questions. The other two had left the place before the murder, probably because they didn't want to get grilled with questions. I want to dig deeper into this and look into their backgrounds and their relations with Dan, I think I can find a few interesting things about them. I'll probably pay a visit to the other councilmen later."

"What about the other two?" Lynch asked. "Did you interview Dalton and Radford? Are you sure that their careers were actually ruined by Decatur today? Where were they when Decatur was shot? If you feel that they're involved, go out and seek 'em out."

Stephens nodded. "Yes, sir, I think that'd be for best. Come on, we'll take my car, it's parked out back..."

He led the councilman out of the building, taking an alternate route to avoid the press. Damage control, he repeated to himself, damage control. This wasn't the first time he was called upon to do this, but the assassination of a public official was a few magnitudes higher than covering up a DUI or extra-marital affair. Assassination? What was he thinking? He could scarcely believe that Skinner was smart enough to organize a targeted killing. Yet still, apparently Skinner was important enough to warrant his expertise-- which didn't come cheap. He put the thoughts to the side, for now, his first concern was to prep his client for whatever media frenzy was to come his way. If he was lucky, that would be as far as it would go.

He opened the door for Skinner, before getting in himself. Once inside he tapped the plate glass separator. "Just drive for now, I want to get as far away from here as possible." He said to his chauffeur, and then turned back to Skinner. "Now... Before we start anything, I'd like to tell you that when they hired me, we had an understanding. They pay'd me a lot of money, a lot, so that when the call came, I would make sure whoever I was repersentating would never see a second behind bars." He opened his briefcase, pulling out a pen and notebook. "I don't know what you did-- I don't know if you did anything-- but it's not my business to pass judgement, you understand? From this point on, till this case is closed, I am your guardian angel, I'm here to help you 24/7, here or anywhere, but, sir, I can only help you, if you trust me. I need you to trust me, can you do that sir?"

"I didn't get a chance to interview the other two, according to Skinner he ruined their names today, I'm going to ask them some questions later. I don't know where they went, for all I know they could be on the road. Now I need to go and do some research," Brandon told him before heading over to his car.

He got in his car and drove over to the station, once he arrived he walked inside and asked a secretary something. "Give me a file of councilmen Skinner, Dalton, and Radford as fast as you can," he demanded before walking upstairs this desk. He sat down at it and started recording a few things about what had happened, he was waiting for the secretary to give him the files.

Skinner trusted Stephens as they drove out of the area, as the lawyer had gotten him out of trouble. As they drove through the city, he sat back against the leather seat, stretching out his limbs as he looked at the driver.

"Take us to the Ceballo Arms," Skinner said before turning back to his lawyer. "I understand. You're bound by confidentiality to not reveal anything I tell you to the authorities. That's good for me, because now I can confess something to you. As many might not believe, I had nothing to do with the murder of Decatur, but good riddance to him. I however, do have knowledge on what happened, but I can't trust you with such secrets. What I will do, however, is enlighten you and show you the most exclusive society in the state of California. I'm only doing this because I trust you, because you are bound by the law to defend me."

The secretary looked up at Brandon, the look on her face was a confused one. They had no records on those three councilmen, as it wasn't the job of the police to keep tabs on everyone, and none of those men had criminal records.

"But we do not have records on th-," she stopped as Brandon left.

What a waste of time. Debra thought to herself.

"Shouldn't we be focusing our efforts on finding the shooters rather than looking for the person who could have possibly hired them right now? There lawyers are good and we have no solid evidence that points the blame towards them?" she questioned Jed, expecting the worst. "I mean the shooters took a big risk killing him here in board daylight with tons of uniforms and reporters around why not wait till a better time, whoever ordered this hit wanted to send a message." she muttered. "Don't fuck with us. I'd like to take a couple of Uni's and go look for that car, I reckon that it's stolen and would have been abandoned not too far from here, a car with bullet holes in its a cop magnet."

Michelle had her new office set up at MCU. It sat adjacent in the corner overlooking the rows of desk and common area. It wasn't the oak paneled office back at the DA's office, but it would suffice. She was working on some preliminary reports, and a press kit for the hordes of news reporters outside the office. The DA wanted this investigation to be headed by Michelle and Jed, the two of them already didn't get along, but Michelle was going to keep the relationship as professional as possible.

Michelle was busy working on paper work when Jed came in and demanded for a search warrant. "Well nice to see you too." Michelle said looking over the paper work on he handed her. "Shit..it's in Douglass." Michelle said quietly. Douglass was the worst area, full of drugs, prostitutes, cop killers, they were going into dangerous territory. Michelle called Judge Holden, a friend of hers and strong advocate for cops. He signed off the warrant and would have it delivered to Michelle by the time they got on the scene. "It will be there by the time we get there. You have full command of the SWAT team if needed, they're at your disposal, as well as one police helicopter, all will be on stand by. The warrant is good for the car and the house." Michelle said, getting up, grabbing her car keys.

As Michelle began to get up and grab her car keys, Jed grabbed her hand and glared at her. Little crusaders like her would only get in his way, and in Douglass, that would get both of them killed. He didn't want some massive task force to roll into Douglass to round up some hoods like a bunch of damn Gestapo officers. All he needed was the team; not the helicopter.

"Stay out of this," he said bluntly. "I don't need you to get shot, or criticize me for beatin' a suspect."

As O'Brian patrolled the area, she would spot the car in an alleyway. The vehicle sped towards her car, barely missing her as it sped out into the street. The car was going extremely fast, for the city, which was around 60 mph in the crowded streets. The driver was barely avoiding other cars as he pulled into the opposite lane and even onto the sidewalk as he attempted to get away from Debra.

Brandon decided he would look them up on the Internet and find out as much as he could about them. He did the same for Dan because he may find something interesting about him that may have been the reason of his death, or part of it. After this he would probably go and check the Toyota dealership and ask him about the car, he may be able to track the killer down if he knew his personal information.

"Fuck!" Debra shouted as the car speed past her, Debra quickly flipped her sirens on before picking up the receiver on her CB to call it in to dispatch "This is detective Debra O'brian I'm in pursuit of a silver 2010 Toyota Camry, registration plate Sam, Tom, Ida, Zero, Nine, Eight, seven. On (insert street name) requesting backup, suspects are armed and dangerous." Debra quickly floored it, the engine revving up as she began pursuing the suspect, she had to stop him now before he could harm anyone else.

Brandon would find tons of articles on the four men. Radford, Dalton, and Skinner all had stakes in Northport's thriving business industry, and he would also find out that the three men all went to prestigious schools around the nation. For Decatur, he would find even more articles, ranging from Decatur's stainless war record, his time as a federal prosecutor, his council record, and, of course, the reports about his death. Nothing was really conclusive though.

When Brandon got to the Toyota dealership, a man with a big smile approached him, shaking his hand as he approached.

"Welcome to Big Bill Hell's Toyota Dealership!" the man, identified by a nametag as Bill Hell, said. "How may I help you today?"

Patrol snapped into action, and 3 cruisers joined Debra in pursuit of the Camry. Up ahead, an NMPD Tahoe and a cruiser had closed off part of the road, and an officer threw out a spike trap in front of the Camry. The Camry, which had now reached 75 mph, went out of control as it hit the spike trap, flipping and ramming into a parked van. Once the Camry stopped moving, the other 3 cruisers stopped and several officers got out of their vehicles, aiming their guns at the vehicle. Two officers went forward; one covered the other with an AR-15 as the other opened up the door, dragging a confused and dazed hood out of the car, hopping on top of him and cuffing him while reading him his rights.

"I'm detective Brandon Arrington from the NMPD. Have you recently sold a silver 2010 Toyota Camry? I believe it's license plate is LP STI-0987 or something like that. I need the customers personal information so I can track him or her down. If you can find me their information that'd be great," Brandon told him.

As the car slammed in the van, Debra drove around the spike trap, slamming on the breaking coming to a halt, getting out of the car and pointing her Glock 22 towards the car as the other officers closed in on the suspect quickly arresting the driver, Debra got the feeling that the driver wasn't the shooter and rather found the car and planned to scrap it but they now had the car and hopefully some forensic evidence that would nail them to the wall, Debra removed her cell phone and quickly dialed in Jeds number to tell him the good news while heading over to the car to investigate.

Hong got on the phone and dialed up Lynch from outside the morgue.

"Hey, it's Tsien...
OK, so, not much to tell that we don't already know. The ME will have more details after the autopsy, but Councilman Decatur was definitely shredded. Sternum, heart, a few bullets went wide. No flight from Decatur, no chance...he was gunned down where he stood. Rounds are indeed 7.62 from AK-47s. Yugoslav knock offs from ballistics tests. Hard to tell if these guys were pro as they didn't have the most difficult target to bring down. He may have been a 'Nam vet, but he was just one surprised old man at that moment. I will check back in here for updates from the ME. So...that's where we're at. Where you need me at now?"

"Fucker.." Michelle muttered as she walked away. On her way down to her car, she got a call, they had the car and suspects in hand. They would be bringing them back to MCU, so rather then join them at the scene, Michelle got back into the elevator and back to her office. The room was full of chatter of the suspects being apprehended, and how it wrecked on the scene. Luckily no officers or bystanders were hurt. That would have just been more paperwork to fill out.

As Jed argued with Michelle, his cell phone soon rang. Stopping the argument, he answered the phone and heard the news from Debra.

"Good work," he said. "Myself and some others are about to head down to the home of the owners."

"Get back over to MCU," Jed said, switching to his call from Tsien.
