Hong looked around the room at the other detectives. Things were starting to bog down and he wasn't quite sure why. There was no lack of evidence, just a lack of reason of why it was stacking up so quickly. There were obvious reasons as to why someone wanted Councilman Decatur dead, but the evidence didn't point to those more obvious suspects. Not yet anyway.

"I'm with you, Jed." He followed Lynch in to the first interrogation room, and glanced behind as Michelle was following on his heels. He took a good look at the suspect before he found a spot on the wall. Lynch would of course take lead, but he would be ready to jump in with a good question or corroboration.

This wasn't the first time that DeShawn Davis had ended up in an interrogation room. A troubled youth from Oakland, Davis had grown up in an abusive environment and was involved with the Crips from an early age. By 16, he was sent to Chino for 3 years for armed robbery, and had managed to survive 3 years there before being released. Those 3 years did nothing to change him, and he was right back with the Crips in Oakland before becoming an OG for the Crips in Northport. After a failed bank heist, he was sent to Folsom for 10 years before heading back to Northport, carrying out more crimes. He soon crossed paths with Detective Lynch, after the detective busted into his house and shot his friend Quandarius in the face, after the cop killer was acquitted for the murder of Lynch's friend. Threatened and coerced by Lynch and other elements of the NMPD, DeShawn was forced to testify that Quandarius had indeed pulled a gun on Lynch. Since then, he's despised Lynch for his corrupt actions.

On the other side of the one-way mirror, Lynch stood with Tsien and Sherwood, looking at DeShawn.

"Nabbed this guy at the crack house in Douglass," Lynch said. "Real scum. Sherwood, why don't you go in there and put him at ease. He'll respond to you better than me. Tsien, you'll follow in there next and be more confrontational. Wait for my word first though, so Sherwood can put him at ease."

Michelle walked into the interrogation room, sitting across from DeShawn. She sat forward, her fingers interlaced, she spoke in a soft tone. "I'm ADA Michelle Sherwood. It looks like you have the trouble of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. It seems that has done nothing for you, however rest assured I'm here to help you. If you could tell me what you were doing at the crack house, who you were with, anything you know, perhaps I can see to it that the law works in your favor this time. Ifyou can help me." Michelle said.

"What do you think I was doin' there, ho?" DeShawn asked. "I was smokin' some nice shit, when that racist fuck Lynch kicks down the front door and drags me here. I want my lawyer too."

Lynch watched on, lighting up a cigarette as he listened. He looked over at Tsien.

"Get ready," he said.

Shit. He asked for a lawyer.Michelle looked back at then one way glass. " Lynch wasn't looking for you. Like I said, you were at the wrong place at the wrong time. We were looking for someone who could have been involved in a murder. I'm sure you can I can work something out.." Michelle said, trying to salvage then interrogation.

Brandon stepped into the interrogation room, same routine; ask small questions until you get to the point where you can accuse them of something. And maybe fit in a lecture in there if necessary. Brandon sat down in a chair in front of the driver, he rested his right arm onto the table and rested his right leg on his left leg.

"So what's your name?" He asked.

Tsien watched as DeShawn got bolder and closed off. He looked over at Lynch.
"Looks like she's losing him. You want me to go in and give the hard sell? Back her up a bit?"

Tsien strategized a bit. He'd asked for his lawyer. He had to dance lightly here, but still spell things out before the lawyer got here, maybe get some info before they were done. Damn lawyers!

''Too bad he won't get a lawyer," Jed said. "Go in there and help Sherwood out though. She'll need your help, but you need to confront him somewhat. Start askin' questions.''

"Done and dun, boss."
He winked at Lynch and smirked.
Hong Li Tsien walked out from the viewing room into the corridor, straightened out a bit and reentered through the main interrogation room door. He walked in and smiled at both Michelle and DeShawn, pulling up a chair at the table.
He nodded back at Michelle again then swiveled his head at DeShawn. The smile was gone, but he wasn't going for any visual shock tactics, he just had his cold shield face in place. He spoke calmly but with an undercurrent of malice,

"So, um, DeShawn? Yeah...We're gonna get on contacting your lawyer and getting them down here, really, really soon. It will take some time. Maybe we can change your mind about how this will go, though, while we're waiting for that to happen. Here's some facts. We have a lot of info on you and some others are talking. They're gonna lay it all on you, but we all know the buck does not stop with you. I think you're seriously mistaken in thinking your benefactor, your 'friend'..." He used air quotes, "...is going to bail you out of this. Really, DeShawn, why should you protect someone who doesn't have your best interests in mind? Yeah...You will go down hard, as all the evidence points to you..." When DeShawn looked about to speak, Hong snapped, "SHUT UP, I'M TALKING NOW!" DeShawn just stared, and Hong continued, "Right, so let's change modes here from 'sticking it to whitey' ...Hey, I understand, look at me." He pointed up to his Asian face, "...To the mode of, 'I don't give a fuck about these guys who will leave me to rot. Let them take the heat instead'. That is really your best option. Otherwise, right now, our best option is coming down on little DeShawn like a shit ton of bricks because we don't have bigger fish to fry. So whaddaya say?"

"I have no idea what you talkin' 'bout, you slant-eyed chink!" DeShawn said. "Now, why do MCU have its pigs on my ass? I thought that was somethin' that them Vice bacon did."

Sighing, Jed kicked open the door and barged into the room, glaring at DeShawn before throwing the table against the wall and grabbing DeShawn by the collar throwing him across the room. DeShawn was terrified as he was assaulted by Jed, who proceeded to jump on top of DeShawn and hold his pistol to the young man's neck.

"STOP PLAYIN' DUMB, YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Jed yelled. "YOU'RE NOT GETTIN' A FUCKIN' LAWYER, NOT WHILE I'M FUCKIN' HERE! WE KNOW THAT YOU KILLED DECATUR, YOU DUMB SACK OF SHIT! SO UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY DID IT, YOU'RE GOIN' TO JAIL FOR HIS MURDER!"

"Sooner or later we're gonna find out who you are. You might as well tell me your name now," Brandon explained

Although Brandon didn't like to judge people by their appearance, he thought this guy was desperate for money. So he looked for a job and found a crime syndicate. After a while of talking with them he got a job as a driver for a hit. He didn't look like a snitch so getting things out if him would be a little harder than usual.

"I said, fuck off," the guy said. "I want to speak to my lawyer, darkie."

The man continued to look at the floor, refraining from looking at Brandon.

Watching from the one sided mirror, Debra quickly stepped in, it was clear that this man was unlikely to talk to someone that he would think is below him. "Brandon, take a break, this is my case." Debra quickly shot Brandon a glare of pure hate, although she didn't mean it, it could possibly butter the suspect up.

Brandon clenched his fists as the man called him "darkie." He had delt with these people before by talking to them. But that wasn't his job anymore, his job was locking up the bad guys and bringing justice. Brandon was about to rip this man to shreds before Debra came in.

"Racist motherfucker," he muttered under his breath before stepping out of the room. He stepped out if the room. He observed them patiently looking through the one sided mirror.

Hong smirked as he was called a chink. So it would be like that. Nothing he hadn't gotten before, a hundred fold.
He just managed to rise up and out of the way before Lynch tore in and threw the table he had been leaning on. When Jed went ballistic, putting the gun into the young gangbanger's neck, Detective Tsien stepped in. Lightly talking in Jed's ear, He tried to pry his arm with the gun up, not harshly, but firmly and slowly.

"Hey, Detective Lynch, easy. Ease back, ease back, man. Let's rewind. This is a whole lot of bullshit we don't need on us later from IA, ya know?"
Apparently he would go to good cop from Lynch's bad cop, but he had a bad feeling that there wasn't supposed to be a good cop in this scenario.

When Jed threw the table, Michelle jumped back against the wall and watched the scene unfold. Michelle could not believe what she was seeing, she knew Jed could fly off the handle, but not like this. "Shouldn't be too surprised" Michelle thought to herself. Luckily Detective Tsien stepped in, attempting to calm down Jed. Michelle was not pleased, and anyone could easily tell by the scowl on her face.

As DeShawn cursed and hollered, Jed continued to glare. He wasn't angry or anything, but a threatening action such as this would scare the shit out of the suspect, who wasn't intimidated by the others. Under DeShawn's seemingly adament "tough gangbanger" persona, certain actions could bring out the fear, which also went for anyone. Jed knew this, and exploited it often. When Tsien began to slowly pull his arm back, Jed jerked free, and kept his eyes on DeShawn.

"TSIEN, DO YOU WANT MY TRIGGER FINGER TO SLIP?" Jed yelled before turning back to DeShawn. "I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I DON'T HAVE TIME TO WAIT ON YOUR GODDAMN LAWYER! TELL ME WHY YOUR BUDDIES KILLED THE COUNCILMAN!"

"Ok! Calm down, pig!" DeShawn yelled. "Alright, they got hired by some dude to bump off Decatur! They never told me shit 'bout it! Jesus Christ!"

Jed stood up, seemingly calming down as he holstered his pistol. He looked at the other two before turning back to DeShawn, lifting him off of the ground and glaring at him with a death stare.

"You tell anyone 'bout this, I will kill you," Jed said. "Tsien, get this man to Vice. I think they'd be interested to know 'bout how this fucker got busted durin' a raid."

The skinhead promptly took the cigarette, leaning back in his chair as he looked at Debra.

"Tell me something," the man said. "I bet this is about the councilman's murder, right? About the body in the trunk, correct? I can tell you what you want to know, you know? I know what happened, but I want my lawyer here first."

Michelle didn't approve of Jed's "tactics" but it got them the information they needed. Michelle pulled out a pen and paper and handed it to DeShawn. "I need what you just said in writing. If you do this, and give us any other information you think we should know, I'll see what I can work out for you." Michelle said with her arms crossed. She looked over at Jed and gave a very faint smile and a nod of approval.

Hong stood without saying a thing as DeShawn finished writing up his statement and handed it to Michelle. He didn't look at Lynch.
"Okay. DeShawn, up against the wall." When the suspect complied, Detective Tsien put the handcuffs on him. "We're taking a little trip down to vice, now."
