Yeah, but I kind of came to the conclusion that a unified Japan rallying under a strong Imperial figure would be like WW2 Japan's patriotism on steroids. Even far from home, they rally as if the land they are defending for Britain is the land they would defend for their children and wives.

For many Japanese, Britain is a second home, as it is the nation that has helped Japan emerge from it's corner as a great power. The Empress was educated by British tutors, she speaks English with a royal tongue, etc.

But aye, Japan's men and women would die just as quickly for London as they would for Tokyo, because in the Japanese tradition, family is family. You do not abandon family, you defend family until you take your final breath in service of their defense.
