sounds cool to me, only problem is that I only have a single province and my army is already a call up army(I can call in any man in the country to fight in my banner in times of crises pretty much) so this would be sorta worthless for me.

You really don't need it. Its more to even fighting between uncivs and civs.

Ranks are only really needed in a professional standing army like say rome, in a more tribal one like mine full on ranks are not needed. In a time of crisis I just use traditional organization I have the chiefs gather their men together and lead them either personally or appoint a War chief, have the individual lesser kings in the realm lead the bands controlled by the chiefs and finally have the High king or an appointed Warlord lead the entire army pretty much.
