Numenoreans are canonically obsessed with living longer, building extravagant tombs, and death. It led to their downfall in the years of Ah-Pharazon the Golden when they tried to land in Valinor to become immortal.

Thankfully I'm playing as Tar-Minastar, before the death fetish became a huge issue.

I remember BM posting you can only have one character, so if you want Elrond, I think you are going to need to disband the one of the Dwarves of Erebor.
