Well, he was no more ineffective than any other RGP NPC. But he still didn't do a lot outside of cut scenes.

The problem is that it's 4:19 and I need to be up by like, 9:00. Assuming I can go to bed by 4:30, that gives me four hours and thirty minutes of sleep. Running on four hours and thirty minutes of sleep sucks so much that I'm honestly debating just staying up all night.

Neither option is really good, to be honest, but shut up I did this on purpose and totally not because I have no foresight at all.

Personality: Goes out of his way to help others and is always willing to give advice or assistance. When fighting needs to happen, however, he is always the first to jump in.
History: Born April 18th, 2000, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to Michael and Virgina Callahan, James started out as a normal, unremarkable kid, until an incident on his seventh birthday. Without warning, while out picnicing with his parents, friends, and baby brother Scott, a fireball shot from his hand and blew up a tree. He continued to have these "attacks" until the age of 9. At age 18 he attended Elfen High, and was present for Loki's invasion. [Arc 1]

Following the battle, without Aleister Crowley around to guide him and having seemingly lost his powers, James grew depressive and irritable. Finally he left the school and broke up with Jade Gates, and for two years he harboured a thirst for vengeance that spilled over into targeted violence of all magic users and those associated with them. Using the cover of being a one-man vigilante working to protect humanity from the supernatural, he went about setting up a paramilitary organization named Pure Earth - And, to cut off all ties with his past, he murdered his own family. He also hid that he had not, in fact, lost his powers, by hiding behind two alternate personalities and leeching off of a shard of Loki that had implanted itself in James.

Events moved according to his design, and he eventually ended up back at Elfen High - Seemingly a wanted criminal with nowhere else to go, he was in fact setting things up so he could remove the most powerful magical beings on Earth - And the school itself - As well as manipulate the oncoming war so that it would destroy Hell and Heavensgate and decimate the armies of other supernatural kingdoms, particularly Asgard. By using the hubris of supernatural beings against them he was able to pretend to be a powerless braggart.

However, his conscience began to force its way back. The kidnapping and torture of Rosalind Jameson, destruction of several human cities including Cairo, and the death of Jade Gates caused him to reconsider everything - Eventually culminating in him dropping the facade, absorbing his alternates and revealing his powers, albeit at less than full strength, while fighting Azazel with Aleister Crowley. It was then that he realized that vengeance would only hurt those he still cared for and lead to misery and destruction. [Arc 2]

Voluntarily turning himself in to the international authorities for trial, he plead guilty to multiple counts of murder, rape, torture, kidnapping, conspiracy, espionage, and other such crimes, and was sentenced to life in prison. However, a new threat now looms over the horizon, threatening the progress humanity has made. James Callahan has now been tasked with protecting the Earth - Through Elfen High.
