Why spend $50 to make a product when you can spent $30 to make it and still sell it at the same price? Capitalism does not care about creating quality products or making people satisfied; capitalism only cares about profit, and when one company has a total monopoly over a market, quality becomes a non-issue. It doesn't matter how good your products are because people will have to buy them, anyways. Thus, you start cutting down the quality to cut down the costs and make more money. That's how it works.
