Anyway, yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Originally stuff was going to happen, tragedy, yadada, stuff explained, yadada. But hell, nothing happened and they're happy. I'm too good to take that away and whatever needs an explanation can be done in oneshots. .

Besides, I doubt there's much more that can really be done with them. To me, at least, it seems like they've pretty much been spinning their wheels in terms of development, so it might be time to let them go off while someone else takes the spotlight.
